As for the bush alignment, there is a protruding lump just inside the outer ring of the bush which is alignment marker. It lines up with the notch in the trailing arm.

Replaced mine with powerflex ones last month, now recently i seem to be having some metallic clunking/grating/rattle noise when driving. Looked underneath and nothing loose other than exhaust heat shield which i thought was it and reclipped but that didn't fix it. Noise seems to be getting worse after driving over some bumps yesterday. When stationary and open the boot and bounce the suspension i can't reproduce the sound, but it does make some mild grating noise, not sure if thats normal. Also the rear suspension springs seem to have some of the outer metal peeling but didn't look broken to me, is this norma;? should i replace these? Any ideas please? tracking stuff like this down is a nightmare lol.

hi, your question is a good one, thanks, because the bush can be bolted to the chassis in a slightly different position to the old one, then technically speaking you should check the rear wheel alignment which is not a quick job..but i will say, i have changed many, many of these bushes on the company taxis... and never bothered to check the rear wheel alignment. never have i had rear tyres wearing irregular... so if it were me, i would not bother...if it worries you then you would be correct to have it checked, hope this somewhat helps.

I do not know, but I think it is really impossible to find the sweet spot, you see the car is hanging and that "lift thing" is probably not pushing the trailing arm to the full extent, the moment he puts down the car it will be under a different load again and while driving conditions such as impacts or weight are constantly alternating....
All things said I've been told that this part is very unlikely to break, so I guess it simply doesn't matter too much.

They say it's speed bumps damage it just like they do to spring coils. Then they will do the 4 wheel laser tracking which it went in for in the first place !! Just bought a pair of aftermarket ones for my Mondeo. Believe they are identical to the ones for Volvo.

    Hi Al
Not sure if you answer private mails but desperate to sort a prob and who better
My MK4 has a tendancy to wear rear tyres unevenly on the inside. I mean not all the way around just about 90 percent so after a while we get a wow wow wow tyre noise at anything over 50mph
Mot picked up again last week on this on a tyre with only 4000 miles on it.
No accidents ever or curbs. Passed mot no issues and I asked if he would check the suspension. Advice was they all do it it's common
    No bushes showing wear.
    Wheels are in balance
No there are camber bolts for sale on eBay. From the rear the wheels do look tipped in at the top so can these bolts help?
Hope you can help. Going through too many tyres
    Cheers Al

hi, the rear wheels are probably out of alignment and need tracking...the inner bolts on your lower suspension arms .. the arms the springs sit in are what you would loosen to adjust the rear tracking... that's if they are not seized up..you just need to find a garage that knows how to track cars properly

Hi.. I checked the price the other week... they are about just under £30 per side inc vat.
If you look at the comment left by badgertronix, he has left a link to some solid bushes where you don't need a tool to fit them but they are more expensive for the bushes.
