Nisha, if you pierce your tulips with a pin at the top of the stem just below the head (all the way through) it stops the heads from flopping over. It works a treat!
I love your vase as well! I am a floral designer. Could I offer a suggestion? A quick snip at the bottom of your tulips or any flower will provide them a way to drink water. Changing the water everyday with that little snip will help them last longer for you. I enjoy your videos!
Hi Nisha, My great Aunt lived on the border of Germany & the Netherlands. There was a garden not far from her home on the Netherlands side that grew bulb Spring flowers, Asparagus & Rhubarb & let us cut our own, but did teach us how to care for cut tulips. Have a couple vases of graduated sizes tall & short. The style you found is beautiful & maybe you can find one same style but shorter. To have your tulips last the longest, here are a few tips. Cut a half an inch from the bottom, when you get them home, remove bottom leaves, then trim one half inch every other day and top off with fresh water daily. Every third day empty all of the water & add fresh. Avoid placing in direct sunlight.

Nisha you should always recut bottom of stems when you get home with cut flowers,as they seal very quickly and so will not drink the the water very well. Also dropping a 2p. into the vase will help stop them from drooping.

Louie looks great, and since he wanted to eat right away is a very good sign. Saying prayers for great results! Love your tulips, so very pretty. Your flowers will last longer if you trim them on an angle before putting them in the water. Also, I just learned that for tulips, you can put a copper penny in the water and they will last longer.😊

I'm so pleased Louis is doing well after his surgery, he's such an adorable 'lil guy! My sweet little old lady dog, Matilda, passed away on Tuesday. I've cried for days, I'm just heart broken. I miss her so much. I wish you all the fun walks and sleepy snuggles Louis has left to give. xoxo p.s. You're new vet clinic seems so caring, and that means a lot to us pet parents.

Glad Louie is doing well. Apparently if you put a 2 pence piece in with tulips, it helps them stand up for longer. Also cut about an inch off the bottom of the stems before putting them in water. A florist once told me that it only takes about 30mins for stems to close up once cut! Xx

It’s important to cut off the ends of tulips and all cut flowers, with a sharp knife(not scissors), on an angle. Cut them under lukewarm water to prevent an air bubble in the stem. They are beautiful!

I’m a bit like you, so used to styling with the sleek look. Your tulips look beautiful, and now I want to get some, and need that vase too ! 😆 I’m not the best at arranging flowers, but I always put decorative colored stones in the bottom of the vase. Gives it a little something, and holds the stems in place. I like your outfit with with gray sweater & white tee under it, and the jeans look good with it. It’s hard to get used to the wider legs when we’ve been wearing slim for so long. 😉 Hope Paul’s trip was nice, and that he got his fill of American food. 🍔🍟🌮

FYI cutting the bottom of your flower stem at a 45 degree angle will help keep it fresh for longer, as well as adding ice to your water. I learned that from my husband’s cousin who is a florist. Removing any leaves so they don’t get in the water is good, too, which I saw u do.

I really like those jeans! I think they look great on you. Just a hint: snip the ends of your tulips and any flower, before you put them in water. This allows them to suck up the water. Do it every time you change the water.

Your tulips are beautiful and I love that vase! ❤ Anytime I get flowers. I snipped the ends before I put them in freshwater then after a week or two I snipped the ends again to help make them last longer. I’ve had flowers last me a month. 😁 Not sure if you should do that with tulips. I’ve never had tulips before…shame on me 😆

I am so glad Louis is doing well and that you are now over that hump, so to speak. I laughed when you finally showed your "wide leg jeans"! I was expecting those full on elephant or palazzo style and what you have is, to me, a basic "Mom jean" leg. That's what they call them where I live in the US anyway, and they are popular. I wear boot cuts myself which are slim at the thigh since skinny jeans don't flatter me. Tulips are my favorite flowers and yours are beautiful in your new vase! oxJulia
