Custom Rear Leaf Springs:
weldtecdesigns...
In this video we take a look at this awesome Ford Chinook 4x4 Camper van. This van came in the shop sagging a ton in the rear due to the weight of the build. So we threw on a pair of our custom rear leaf springs rated specifically for this van as well as it can be rated to any other build. Now this awesome 4x4 Chinook is sitting correctly and has an amazing ride in the rear. These rear leaf springs also come with a and overload leaf wich will make it much better for towing! If you are having sagging issues with your van and already have a lift in the front, you are always able to get our custom rear leaf springs that will be specifically rated to your vehicle for optimum performance! Mine is on order for my 2000 Concourse. Can't. Flippin. Wait!
Love the custom leaf springs will allow for better towing! Nice.
I commented 2 years ago about my MORryde rubber cushions. They are still working like a charm after I replaced the sheared ones at that time. I really like the system and I think that if no other suspension mods were being done, it would be great as is.
But after traveling to far off places, I think a little more ground clearance is called for. So I'm thinking about getting your Baja Grocery Getter lift kit installed. I would not mind getting rid of the MORryde and going with those springs. I believe the ride would be even better. I'll be getting in touch.
let us know how we can help you out, thanks for watching
Once the MorRyde is removed. Will the spring hangers have factory holes in the frame to mount it proper location??
I have the MorRyde system as well and it is a smooth ride with it after I had the originals replaced. Everyone who rides in it are surprised and tell me so. In my opinion it's not junk, and probably cheaper than replacing everything with springs.
Yeah I hear you on that one, it probably is a much cheaper alternative to having custom rated springs built! Thanks for your feedback brotha, it's very appreciated! 👍
Sweet Ride!
Thanks!👍
friends, let's be friends with the channels, we subscribed to your channel.
The rear springs that came off the van are factory Ford 9 leaf E350 cutaway chassis van that have roughly 3460 pound rating. Nobody added any leafs to that springs pack. Bad info represented.
You're right, and if you watched the video, this is a MORryde modified leaf spring, we removed all that junk and installed our progressive style leaf springs which are now rated for the specific customers rear axel weight of his vehicle. But thanks for your info though!
I was hoping to see the owner's reaction. I now own a Chinook and wish you guys were closer (I'm in NY) as I would love to see what you can do for mine, (it does not like bumps or potholes)
Oh man I hear ya, you're not just a hop, skip and a jump away lol If you ever find yourself in Southern California you should stop by!
This is so rad!! Curious if anything could be done to a 1990 chinook concourse, say a lift or 4x4 conversion.
You asked for anyone with the original shocks to comment. I have a Chinook Concourse with the Mor Ryde shocks and while I've never had another RV to compare, I find it a comfortable ride. When I first purchased it they were shot and it rode like a boat in the ocean. Totally smoothed out when I had them replaced.
nimocone i am in same boat and agree, When I replaced Mor Ryde rubber it felt much better. No idea how it compares to proper leaf spring setup.
Oh okay cool, that's good news then! Thanks for he feedback I appreciate it! 👍
Ask your neighbor, hes used to work on the more ride
Total cost?...your doing good job down there ....I wish your closer ....I got Chinook too
Love your work! Does anyone know any mechanics on the East Coast that might be able to handle something like this on a Chinook?
Check out these guys in NC (late to reply, I know; just discovered Chinooks!): www.ujointoffroad.com/
