As much as I love and respect "Granny Goku", I grew up on the dub and Sean will always be Goku to me. I met him at a con and he's a genuinely awesome guy. I had a DBZ shirt he'd never seen before (parody of the first Incredible Hulk comic using Broly) and yelled over at Chris Sabat at the next table to make sure he got a look at it too.
Granny Goku is dope, Sean too but I won't say I prefer him than Nozawa. I think I like them both equally since I grew up on sub

I also remember in other videos of Aimin saying that Dragon ball american soundtrack made it iconic and more beloved because of the "superior" soundtrack than the original and that made me roflmao, because in the vast majority of countries Dragon Ball didn't have that soundtrack and still was a success at that time. So it's just plain nostalgia for the ones that like the version that aired on USA

I’ll always prefer the movie version, I think it’s just higher quality and flows much better than the show. It’s also nostalgic for me because I saw it in the theater when it came out here in the United States. The hype was very real because it was the first NEW Dragon Ball media in years, needless to say... there was a lot of yelling in the theater 😂

I like it but the one that plays when Goku is transforming into ssj God is just so majestic and beautiful.
Just to get your Context straight. In Japan this Movie came out before the Anime Version aired on Japanese Television. That is why there is a slight difference between the Movie and the Show. They had to extend the story a little bit for the show to make it in Episode format. That is why the fight with Beerus and Goku lasted a few episodes.

NO! I frickin LOVE this movie and I never EVER fail to get goosebumps when I watch that part.
Schemmel kills it! Most of the dub is incredible as well. But when you watch full episodes of the Japanese sub you see how much detail goes into Goku's voice and how high level it is at all times. It's hard not to have respect for that little Japanese lady who voices so many characters and has for decades.
But to your point, Goku's English voice is and always will be iconic. The hype factor definitely goes higher for those intense moments than the Japanese, I can't deny that

You can take this with a grain of salt, but Toriyama once said that Goku at his peak here was a 6/10, Beerus a 10/10, and Whis a 15/10. So Whis is basically untouchable lol
true. What i hate is that people think the power scale toriyama uses is lineair like its as easy to go from a 5 to a 6 then a 7 to 8 for example. While this actually is an exponential growth. Going from a 7 to 8 is 10x harder than going from a 6 to 7 and even 100x harder than going from a 5 to 6. So the gap between Beerus and Whis is many many times bigger than the bridge between Goku and Beerus and even that one is massive

So I saw this subbed before It got dubbed and released in theaters. Even so when I saw the dub in the theater it was fire. My favorite yell was the instant transmission Kamehameha, the ENTIRE theater said "HHAAAAAAAAAA" With him. It was soooo awesome

Voice dubbing ISN’T worse than voice subbing; each and every voice actor puts in a TON of work to flesh out the characters. Sean Schemmel may have perfected Goku’s roars and yells in English, but Masako Nozawa (Goku’s Japanese VA) pretty much defined everything that Sean referenced when creating his Goku voice. Additionally, Ms. Nozawa helped promote Dragon Ball up to the point that there’s an official “Goku Day” in Japan! How cool is that?
My personal preference is for the English voices since I was introduced to DBZ back on Cartoon Network’s Toonami time slot, but I absolutely love the Japanese voice-work anytime something new to the series is released (or doesn’t arrive in America) because they push out so much. 👍
I prefer this movie over the anime mainly for the amount of work that was put into making it amazing

if your wondering why Bulma's birthday wasn't on the yacht it's because the movie had more time and budget so they could animate the city and landscapes but in the show the production was super rushed so they put it on a boat so they'd only have to draw the ocean and like one island for the fight

Vegeta has a brother, and he shows up in a dragon ball z special which takes place after DBZ and before DBS. The special is called "dragon ball z yo goku and his friends return" it's only in subbed not dubbed. Vegeta's brother is canon so I'd advice u to watch it

@Aimin... I know that when ads are skipped it will mess up the algorithm for your Channel. Most of the time it's not an issue on most channels you'll only have to do it once or twice. Even on your shorter videos I find myself skipping 10 or 12 ads just wanted to bring that to your attention

Btw shooting a blast like goku did, around the plantet is a good form of training because Kamehameha's are normally around 2-3 times stronger than their base, so he's essentially catching a power stronger than himself.
