  • This is a sample from the new Satellite Masterclass from Dara O'Kearney and Learn Pro Poker. In it Dara is joined by his guest and co-author Barry Carter to review a satellite session he played. He recorded the session while he played and replayed it with Dara later, it was not a live sweat session.
In this hand Barry has a strong hand with the potential to eliminate a short stack on the bubble, but the problem is the player behind him is a maniac with a massive stack.
Apologies but the player at the top is slightly cropped from the video and you cannot see his cards, but it doesn't matter in this example.

Make it 3.5bbs Bazza. Doesn’t allow the guy to get away with 0.2bb

Hello Barry! Thanks for sharing. I have the book and it had an amazing impact on my sat mtts results. In this hand situation, I would 100% fold taking in consideration that even if the small stack double I would still have more chips. Is this a wrong perspective/approach, or the shove all in would impact more on the final equity?
