Mikita is one of the best high roller and heads up player in the world and Mariano is a little fish in his ocean

However, players at this table are far more aggro and unpredictable than the average player and aware that c/r river is a good bluff spot. Here in particular, to punish Mariano's small bet that looks very face up and honest. Mikita is a strong player, definately capable of playing hands like KT or QT the same way.

The idea Nikita is elite at NLHE is beyond ridiculous, 3bet pf with 9s flop bottom set then check 3 streets with a monster cr. He will make min and lose max with most his hands. So what he only continues with bluffs and one pair hands? You must bet flop especially on that board. Mariano with have hit that board a ton. One if the worst played hands ive ever seen. If Mariano calls, he should quit that day, that is the worst ive ever seen him play. I mean poker is easy for how hot he has ran, so maybe im wrong about assessing is overall skill.

I felt like the 9s played bad like you said not betting the flop or even the turn then the other dude calls a re raise of 20k into an 8k pot and yeah I think the majority of the time you are going to be losing making that call the 9s got really lucky cuz most of the outcomes would have been he either gained the minimum or lost the maximum

He needs alot of work on his game for sure. Plays very loose preflop and nitty/bad post flop especially by the time he is on the river. Just using straight math he needs to be right a ton here for this to be a profitable call. Just chalking it up to a cooler is the exact wrong thought process. You are on the right track of thinking 😉

River bet is too small, insta bet too, this is a bluff like 99% the time. Unless he already had Q10, but he bets more with Q10. Or 99% players do. This is just terrible vs most every player and is a straight punt vs Mariano. He is never folding for this price.
Tbh I would consider folding this spot: 1) check raise river is almost always value. 2) Mariano blocks QJ Q10, JJ, 10 10 but does not block KQ, not blocking the nut straight makes it a bad call. 3) He loses to AJ A10 KQ, which are all in Mikita’s 3betting range.. the only way he could be bluff catching is if he had something like Q9 QJ Q10 himself.
I don't understand why these suppose top players are wasting time like this. When you come to the conclusion that the hand is close to a 50 - 50 decision, just flip a coin and get on with the game. Much less aggravation for everyone.

Mikita makes sure he is more unpredictable and tough to play against if he takes this line occasionally. It also allows him to have some huge x/r bluffs on the river.
