That was a tail. Some reptiles can sever their own tails so predators will go after that allowing the reptile to escape.

It only makes a move when felt threatened or for protection of the snake’s eggs. So if she did walk the snake probably wouldn’t have felt as threatened as it felt when she ran, and probably wouldn’t have made a move.

It actually has more to do with the fact that snakes attack when they percieve movment. In other words the faster you move when near a snake, the quicker will be the attack.
Its reacting to the sudden movement and in that moment it decide to attack rather than run away ,the decision was probably more like since she was there in front of the snake for a good minute making all sorts of noise

jcast25 there isn’t necessarily a connection there though. I’ve known plenty of people who gag over seemingly minor things like that but have no problems carving up corpses. Different causes and resistances.
There's a weird thing about medical professionals not always having a gag reflex depending on the scenario. I've met a few nurses and doctors that have said when they are not in a medical environment and aren't mentally prepared for that sort of thing like they are in their everyday job, it causes them to gag. I'm sure there is some sort of psychology behind it, but I just thought it was interesting to hear from multiple sources.
