The day has come... the tutorial is here.
Also, thanks for showing us your easing :)
eee
Cant believe i just found you here!
@@YusafAnimationsI see you in a bunch of comments lol
@@jujhar. oh 😅
Yea!!
This honestly did better than I expected!
I CANT RESPOND TO YOU ALL HELP!!!😅
pretend this is a funny joke.
please respond with a comment saying: "*Laugh*".
@@binbot5489 😐 * cough *
@@epicnessatpeakI wish i was good at animating like you
I think what youre thinking of is keyframes not storyboards, keyframes are,, the key frames of the animation, basically you try to animate in a way where you hit the key frames as you go, a storyboard is basically an even rougher version of an animation kinda halfway between animation and a comic book
@@epicnessatpeak please respond with a comment saying:
“*laugh*”.
Can’t believe how hard you’ve been working. It’s definitely paying off your skills are so incredible. I love your animations!
The most not boring tutorial I've ever seen
Your tutorial made me more confident when making animations and made me realize some basic animation concepts that I had never noticed before.
the curve part is actually part of the 12 principles of animation which was mentioned in that one alan becker video you demonstrated, forgot what's it called but curves just makes things look more free/flowy and natural
It's somehow called "arcs" and it makes animation looks more natural, kinda like that.
yep, i watched that as a kid :D
@@epicnessatpeakme to
It’s insane how many aspects there are, especially arcs is one that I could never get right
You are definitely an underrated animator. I’ve seen some of your stuff on the flipaclip server before. Glad you are finally getting attention:)
Understanding how basic physics works is really the core of good looking animation. That's where all the easing and arcs and stuff comes from. Thinking of movement from a mechanics point of view has even helped me in animating effects. Once you have a good grasp of that you're pretty much set really. Everything else is just about stylization and communication which you can honestly go without if you feel like it.
but if you have motion that is 'too based in reality' it can look stiff.
But yes its true, understand how things move in real life can gratly benefit your animations
I can't believe that my issue was consistency after all of this time. I should have known to use copy + paste more than I do. Thanks for the help!
DANG THIS IS GETTING SO MANY VIEWS!
As an animator, i'm so happy that i found your work :D , I just subscribed
Keep up the Great energy.❤
i honestly understand this so well than any other tutorials
I WAITED THREE YEARS FOR THIS VIDEO AND STILL DIDN'T GET A NOTIFICATION WHAT THE FU-
lol...does that mean you were subbed for 3 years, you have been animating for 3 years or...you were born 3 years ago...hmmm
LOL that one youtube short wasn't just a one off gag?
Also, 4:49 pinpoint accurately represented my issues with animating. I unlisted most of my videos but the most recent one had this exact problem. This video as a whole is super helpful and I'm really grateful for it. When I start uploading again I can safely say you'll be one of my many inspirations, tysm 💚
I will definitely take this tutorial into consideration when I finally begin my animation I've been looking for countless videos for animation to help me out with a project I'm working on but I found them not really helping me out but with this video has geniunely got me to understand what I've been lacking thank you so much bud
same here! i tthink i've watched every video i could find and this was the only one that actually spoke to me. i deeply appreciate it and will watch all of their videos now lol
Oh this is super interesting! I did know that there was terms for how you place frames between animations but I didn’t actually realize that its used like THAT, like every movement follows a principle of animation, all the movement follows its principles like it might as well have been physics, as in EVERY DRAWING AND LINE follows a set path based on these principles to travel in arcs and land where they need to go.
It never really connected in my brain like that before thank you for the demonstration it really helped:)
One problem I had to figure out is that its not only that the object you are drawing needs to follow the arc, it's every line that is part of the animation.
@@epicnessatpeak thx that might help me later on
WHEN I SAW THAT ONE YT SHORT I WAS SO READY FOR A REAL TUTORIAL I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A GAG LOL
agreed!! its not the amount of frames at all. ive seen people create flawless animations with 9-10 fps. it depends on easing and timing for sure. ty for this video!!
lol, i need to do piano again
Oml-
Your tutorial really helped me with the storyboard/planning part-
I've been struggling animating without knowing how to animate the next scene- and I've been looking all over youtube some methods of it and how does it work- but it doesnt work for me bc i animate in flipaclip-
So this helps me alot with the planning, and other things i needed to keep noted of with better states of poses, actions, planning ahead and flow.
Thank you! You're **THE** EPIC!✨
Glad I could help!
if it coude help even more i saw a studio once drawing everything in a physical comic as your storyboard. i incourege to try it helped me a lot
You know why Epicness at peak is name Epicness at peak it's because he animates Epic
5:39 me being jumpscared by my name on a character being blown up 😭
usually i dont like copy and pasting in my animations, but with this video im starting to realize how well it could improve them. thanks
thank you 😭😭 you're the first person ever to cover arches and animation curves. Everyone only talks about timing.
Dude the FRAME TRICKS at the beginning are gonna be SO HELPFUL for me, oh my gosh thank you
This helped me a lot more than those guys on CZcams that are art and animation teachers at colleges. They know too much and their big words I can't understand. This is so simply and clearly explained making it easy to remember for later
Damn this video is smoother than my forehead (Nice storytime animation! Keep up the cool work!)
wow...no yeah you're right, your forehead is very smooth, no that is actually concerningly smooth... No like really its literally glass? what how- what? How is that even possible?
I really like drawing in reference arcs,
including the line of points which help
track the motion of specific parts of the character.
It's hard for me to imagine
being able to draw straight ahead without this. 🙂
I really like the Easing style of animation Just as much as the choppy style. It gives a more natural e simple moviment in my opnion ❤
This is so helpful omg. New sub, love your voice, love the art style, and the sense of humor is peak. :)
You like how I change my accent every five minutes, do ya?
@@epicnessatpeak yup, sure do
Time traveller: *moves one particle of sand*

i...i dont get it 😎
I really like looking at other people's animation process and see what their thoughts behind it are, so that was a very fun watch :D the way you talk about it is really nice to listen to, even more so with visual cues, good stuff!! Love your art too, enjoyed this a lot!
The things I have learned are helpful, from this video about animating smooth:
Math (curve equations mostly)
And
Physics
And
Illusions
Two teaspoons of skill, to taste.
lol
So perfectly simple and perfectly right. Thank you for sharing how you have been encouraged!
everybody: wants to animate smoothly
me: wants to animate messy and sketchy
also me: watches videos about smooth animation
This is honestly one of the best animations tutorials and explanation videos I’ve seen! I’ve been trying to figure out more animation methods to improve my animations workflow, so I’m definitely gonna be using these techniques ^-^ Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Bro, this was so amazing and helpful! It was much more helpful than other tutorials I’ve seen.
I think doing stuff that you animated one by one gives you the time to focuse more on it
I love how you animate mouths. Reminds me of bent and the ink machine fan animations
Bro, your drawing is beautiful
🙃
We must stay focused brothers! WE MUST STAY FOCUSED! LORD HAVE MERCY
i was crying so hard and then that intro caught me off guard… thank you for being funny :,)
The picture for the video: *SMOTH*
YESSS FINALLY
Oh my stars bro, thank you so much. Animation is a lot to take in when first getting started, and this lays it out real well. Again, thanks so, so much. I needed this. Subbing now
This helped me a lot, thank you so much!!
one of the best animations tutorial i've ever seen, new sub :D
I love this video so much dude thank you thank you thank you
Im practicing on the basics of animation and learning little things everytime i practice . These tips is definitely going to save me more time and give more experience 😄
This is the most underrated and important tutorial❤
5:02 “Copy my homework but don’t make it obvious!”
lol
I mean this is a great tutorial and i honestly feel i learned a lot better than any other tutorial because of the methods you used when explaining. And this is the first time im seeing this channel so its even better imo.
I've been doing animation on Flipaclip for 6 years now. Everything you mentioned here is absolutely true, all those tricks are actually real advice, and a great reminder. Thanks for making this video! Because if i had this type of thing when i first started trying to animate, it would've saved me months of work. I also noticed that ypu referenced Alan beckers' animation tutorial. Nice to see that someone else still uses that video to this day!
:D
woah a word of consummation and encouragement from a veteran???
6 years is...still alot right
@@epicnessatpeak yeah it's true lol. This was fun to watch, and I enjoyed writing this comment :)
Thanks this really changed my mind like i used like 24 frames even though i am starting to learn with 0 drawing skill and i just stared the blank white canvas and close. Now i am going to start to animate and going to start my yt channel thanks.😇
Thanks a lot for this film! Keep going ! I just subscribed
bro, your literally so good I had to make you a fan animation.
I rate all of ur animations a 10/10 and you inspire me
You deserve millions of subs!
you will make it to 100k one day I know it :>
YESSSSSSSS ITS HEREEEEEE IMMMM SOOSOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!
I found the video to be very informative and gained a lot of valuable insights from it, truly grateful to you.
4:23 man i feel that, secondary motion can be hell, especially when its a more complex design, did one gig that had like 15 moving parts from a 3 second shot, jewelry and fabrick and hair and a fricking tail
oh yeah...sounds like pain
finally. Its been a very i mean VERY long tome since you uploaded a single vid. and the actual tutorial came. I just remembsr watching your shorts. I dont think you remember me (if you dont seem to remember go to your old shorts) nice video like always.
Thankyou for stickin' around!

Before this video every time i had a problem when animating id usually bang my head against the problem untill it fixed itself which was rare and id usually end up with a headache, but now thanks to this video i dont have that problem anymore and now i have less headaches metaphorically and physically :D
