  • Hi guys,
in this video I show a problem found in a 3304 engine.
It has major problems with engine oil consumption. Blue smoke etc.
Despite having a good compression, the problem is that in an hour of use it consumed about 10 liters of oil, perhaps more.
I decided to disassemble to check everything.
This is a job on a 951c crawler loader. To remove the underlying plate (the plate under the oil sump) it is necessary to unscrew only 4 side bolts that hold the engine, two on each side.
Then you have to disassemble the rubber biscuits. Not completely but only on one side (that of the converter) are 8 bolts.
At the front, unscrew 4 bolts from below (2 per side) that hold the engine to the frame.
You don't have to disconnect anything else. With a jack, lift the engine 2/3 centimeters from below to allow you to remove the bolts that are under the upright. This allows you to remove the plate I was telling you. Without this step the rear pistons 3 and 4 cannot be removed.
    Enjoy
    Ciao ragazzi,

Looking forward to what you come up with for a sleeve puller. I did this job to my 941 probably 10 years ago

Hello . Fortunately, the cylinders are in good condition, and above all they fall within the 120.73 mm specifications. So I opted for a lapping. For the rest I will put the next video with the reassembly. I anticipate that I have already reassembled everything and it is great.

The last engine I built like yours was in a JCB TLB. Pistons and liners. Found out later that the air filter was wrong and not filtering. That's what killed the engine.

      Hello Carl .
This engine also had the same problem. The air filter was detached. There was a lot of shit inside the cylinder head.

I'd say the guides are definitely shot. Probably sucking oil thru them

yes, very worn. But the oil consumption was due to the worn piston rings.

I’m currently working on a 951 how are you able to get the oil plate out with the cross member in the way

Hello . Yes, I know that bar cannot be removed from the plate.
To remove the plate you have to disconnect the cookies that go into the transmission.
Then you have to disconnect the bolts that hold the motor to the frame. They are 4 bolts.
After the engine is disconnected from the frame and the cookies are free, lift the engine by placing a jack under the flywheel (in the cap).
You have to lift it about 2 centimeters. This way you will have the opportunity to remove the bolts that are between the bar and the plate.
      Let me know .
