  • In this video, I will explain why hydraulic lifters goes bad and what cause ticking, clacking tapping and clicking noise. You will how to remove the noise without any special tool, addictive, replacement or adjustments. All you have to do is remove air trapped in the hydraulic lifters and that may fix the problem.

    I have a ticking noise. Brought it to the shop and they said it is my Rocker Arm....is it worth getting it fixed? Can it be adjusted? 2011 honda pilot EX. U stated to check the oil pressure. If the oil pressure is off what should we do?

    I have a Mitsubishi Pajero with 290,000 kms but well maintained with regular oil changes. I get this sound of what I am sure is hydraulic lifter sound only after off reading in hot sand dunes for about 2 hours. The sound increases or decrease with throttle, it only goes away by itself after I switch off the engine for about 15-2O minutes & never returns once vehicle is back on tar road for thousands of kilometres or a year until I go back to the sand and it appears again. The sound is very loud like tak tak tak metal sound. I took the car to the dealership and discussed with many technicians and even did engine flushing but nothing seems to be helping. Pl advice

      You may need a thicker fluid. Might get to hot and lose viscosity. Complete guess tho

    • @4G12
      @4G12 Před 11 měsíci +1

      What oil viscosity are you using? If you're in a cold climate, they tend to recommend xW-30 oil for slightly better fuel economy and power if the ambient temperature is cool enough, but for more robust, general purpose all round protection for the largest range of temperature, xW-40 engine oil is better. Personally, I prefer viscosities such as 0W-40 and 5W-40.

    My vehicle got flooded with water. I changed spark plugs, oil and filter, air filter and the oil sending unit. I still have a tap in my lifters. Just cylinder 1. 01 town and country 3.8l. trying to fixing without doing a top end rebuild

    • @Mauriciovargasjr
      @Mauriciovargasjr Před 6 měsíci

      If the noise started after vehicle got flooded and if you got water in the engine then you might have a bent valve, rod knock or worse

    I would also add if you got a big cooalnt leak, the temp senslr wont read the real temperatjre since theres no water to read,
    When engine starts heating the oil will thin out, and youl get loud valves clatter.
