I get the same feeling as you, Its in the right direction but it seems disjointed and out of place. The original sound tracks were more structured and worked well to bulid anticipation / hype.

Don't think so. The video just says "scheduled for 2019" and "pre-registration is available" if the translation is correct.
The game is now called Octopath Traveler Conquerors of the Continent, and has been delayed to 2020.
