There is actually a way to do this in Windows. You will need the Windows version of Futurerestore from here: https:

You will also need to use iReb which is in the folders. Otherwise it should be the same.

While the iPhone 4 had the same Chipset as the iPod touch 4th gen (both had the Apple A4 at 800 MHz), the iPhone 4 had 512 MB of RAM and the iPod touch 4th gen only had 256 MB, i guess that is why the iPod touch 4th gen never got iOS 7.

Snow Pea Apple couldn‘t because of the missing RAM. Also App Support for iOS 7 ended a long time ago.

You should do an iOS 6.1.6 iPad 1st generation and iPod touch 3G project. BTW, you should also fix the app pages (no compass, iPod at status bar instead of Searching)

When booting the screen goes green then black and just stays or sometimes it will start booting but get stuck
when i follow the steps and everything when i click enter in futurerestore it does everything and my device shows a green screen but after that it just goes black (not black black, the device is still on, but not doing anything, and i have -v)

I couldn’t get it to work with the IPSW for some reason but someone else got it to work with the dualboot version.
Tech It Out I tried to modify the WiFi files myself in your IPSW, but it just gave an error saying that it wasn’t compatible with my device. :/
I mean it may be possible to do the iboot exploit with that so downgrading to ios 4 may be possible

stuck after pwned DFU mode --- i mean even it is showing 'Device is now in pwned DFU Mode.' I could barely select the ipdw file manually... istead apple is controlling iPod by restoring it.

Hold Alt/Option (MacOS and Hackintosh) and click restore, or hold Shift and click restore (Windows)
On my windows computer i got up to sudo python -m SimpleHTTPServer 80; and every time i keep trying it it says 'sudo' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file. Please help!
sudo is not a Windows NT command, but you can get the same effect by running cmd as admin.

Lol. No. Yes. No. Maybe but probably not because it is complicated to get apps to work.

@@nicholasdavies9317 The dualboot version actually had wifi working, along with jailbreak and activation. Bluetooth, soud, and camera still doesnt work though.

everything works until i use future restore and it shows the green screen and then it becomes blank and just goes back into recovery mode

Hey so I need help :(
When I installed 7.0 on my iPod a while ago, it worked. It crashed all the time but it booted fine.
But this time around, when I try to boot 7.1.2 after installing it, it doesn’t work. It goes to the boot screen where the screen flashes green (indicating that it booted correctly), and then it just gets stuck on a black screen.
Is this because my iPod is an 8GB model or something? I downloaded the correct folder for my iPod model (pre-2012)..
Try the other folder
You will need to use the keys server and boot IPSW in the other folder too. Also we fixed all the crashing in this IPSW :)
Tech It Out funny thing, after I posted this comment, I actually did try the old server and old boot IPSW from the original Custom7IPSW 7.0 folder (lol, I’m always troubleshooting)
With the old server and boot IPSW, it seems to go through more successfully, until it freezes on the boot screen where all the lines of code show up. It always gets to the line that says “AppleMultitouchN1SPI” etc. then stops.
Do you mean I need to use the boot and server from the 2012/16GB folder? Or the original 7.0 folder?
Tech It Out haha wait nevermind, I misunderstood you. I’ll try the 2012/16GB folder. But I’m a little skeptical because my iPod is actually 8GB and shipped with iOS 5, making it pre-2012

You can’t CZcams doesn’t work on iOS 6 anymore
Even if you download it CZcams won’t be able to load it will just say “tap to retry”

@@cisanch20011 use tubefixer and get the classic youtube from cydia.invoxiplaygames.uk/beta then get an api key for youtube. if you don't want ios 6 anymore for whatever reason, you can downgrade to ios 5 or 4 if you have blobs and if you don't, thats ok since there is geekgrade but the downgrade is tethered if you go the geekgrade way

Somebody else told me I should. Everybody always argues about what cloud I use for some reason some want me to use google drive some want me to use mega. Mega has more storage so that’s what I used.
Tech It Out I had to create an account AND download their software to my computer, and it still took me about an hour for the file to download. Please use google drive next time.... by the way I got error 6 while trying to restore my iPod to the first firmware you talked about. Any ideas? By the way this tutorial is much better than 91tech’s keep up the good work!!
