Thats defo a 1980 frame by the upper brake cable routings and hubs. For research the derailour or wheel hubs could have numbers or a letter stamped. My guess this is a 1984 - 1986. 410 high ten steel most likely a more budget option. The higher models had reynolds 501.

Thanks for watching! Most likely they have free wheels so you could do what I did and swap out the 5 or 6 speed freewheel for a single speed freewheel. Good luck with your project!!

It’s a size large. It’s too big for me but a fun build. Thanks for watching!!

I just don't get why people want single speeds. I had them as a kid and they sucked. You had to walk up steep hills and you're always spinning out, going down hills. Once they came out with 10 speeds, I never looked back.

Thanks for watching!! I get what you are saying, but I love the simplicity of just one gear and wanted to build one. Thanks for watching again.

@@TheValueBikeAdvocate Totally get it. Nothing against what you're doing. Just making a general statement.

When you live in a flat city, single speeds are quite fine because you would use only 2 gears 99% of the time if you had gears, so you lose almost nothing.
But on the other hand you get away from the expense and weight of having a front gear, back derailleur, cables and a cassette. It's a quite good trade.
Still, I like having gears on the back, not on the front.

You get used to it from immediate to never. I like it as a general workhorse bike with few parts to go wrong. It is diffrent in a way you need to plan more for other drivers to keep the cadence up. And it forces you to get stronger because you are almost never in the right gear. Dunno now when I'm on a geared bike I think too much about having the perfect gear, shifting and all that. On my singlespeed I just pedal and enjoy the scenary. I know, not for everyone.
