    Since were retired, I don’t need to reset like you with children around , but in the evening, my house is reset, kitchen all clean, I put dishwasher on, and when I when I wake in the morning, it is so worth it.
    A decluttered house is peaceful and calming ❤️

    It isn’t a cleaning chore, but one non-negotiable thing I have to do every day is to start making dinner by lunchtime in an instant pot on the slow cooker setting. That way there isn’t a lot of cooking I have to do during “witching hour”-when everyone is hangry and exhausted and my husband hasn’t finished work yet. I like doing it in the instant pot so that if it’s not quite done by dinnertime (say it was a hunk of frozen meat), I can switch it to pressure cook and have it done quickly. Another chore I do is dishes every night and a tidy of our main living area. I do laundry almost every day-it’s my favorite chore because it’s warm and clean. I wish I scrubbed the house more often, but keeping on top of the basics is where I’m at right now!

      such a good idea! SO true about witching hour. I've 4 kiddos so I've been there. Lately we have been having these really late lunches and then not being hungry for dinner, so sometimes "linner" works for us lol. xo

    I recently started doing a “reset.” GAME CHANGER!!!! We do it twice. I have the kids help around 4. If they do it, they can have screen time while I prepare dinner. Then, I do one after they go to bed.

    My hubby likes making the bed, i love having him do it. He cleans the bathroom, dust the apartment one room per week. I hate a dirty floor, so I am on top of that. Cooking, load and unload dishes, and clean the kitchen nightly, grocery ordering, and laundry biweekly.
    Divide and conquer.
    My best buys that makes my life easier are my Instant Pot, Zorushi rice cooker, & toaster oven, and having grocery and necessities delivered.

  • @Anyankah
    @Anyankah Před 3 lety +4

    I reset different rooms differently, for example, I reset my kitchen completely after each meal because there are a lot of us and I don’t like being behind on dishes or pots and pans (a few years slacking and having to scrub made me change my ways), but I only reset my bedroom, bathroom and living room once a day.
    I miss making the bed every morning but my hubby started working midnight shift so he goes to bed at 9-10 am and gets up at dinner time then I go to bed a few hours later. My top tasks are keeping the dishes, bathrooms and my car clean daily.

I am on a minimalism journey and spent the first year spinning my wheels. So happy I found your channel and went to back to catch up. Thanks for sharing and love your channel. My top tasks for the day: dishes, laundry, make bed, and clean the toilet and sink in the main bathroom. • @katiefrey8860
    @katiefrey8860 Před 3 lety

    Yes! Grocery pick-up is the best. 😊 We only have one car, so I would much rather put my order together during the week and pick it up on the weekend, instead of taking a few hours to do it on a Saturday (we also only grocery shop ever 2-4 weeks, so it would be hours.) Coincidentally, my daily "musts" are
    1) making the bed
    2) doing dishes
    3) laundry
    4) devotions
    5) getting dressed
    I'm trying to add additional habits as 2021 goes on. February's goals are to start exercising (even just a 10 minute stretching session), packing hubby's lunch everyday and being consistent with my morning skincare routine. I think that March will be having the kitchen clean before bed, and vacuuming daily.

  • @MotherMuse
    @MotherMuse Před 3 lety +2

    Still do dishes daily, and making the bed is a habit for years now that if I don't do it's really weird. However getting behind in laundry has been kind of a thing for me lately. I'm in grad school and homeschooling 3 kids so ya know... xo

  • @michellebiggerstaff6841

    Must do.... I HAVE to make the bed. Now, with saying that, I'm not talking tucking everything in and hospital corners. I mean, the sheet is pulled up, comforter is pulled up, and the pillows are at the top of the bed. Takes 2 seconds on my side of the bed, my husband's side is a different story.
    Grocery pick up is a life changer. No impulse shopping. No talking to people you don't want to. I can add to it if I've forgotten it. Plus, it keeps me on budget. LOVE IT!!!! Even before Pandemic, I used it.
    I try to do a brain dump, and a "chore" list for myself. The list is flexible, but it's things that I want to accomplish. Keeps me on track.

    • @debbieholt8261
      @debbieholt8261 Před 3 lety +1

      Here’s the Negatives to Grocery Pick Up. 1. Items switched to a different brand because the requested brand is not in stock. 2. Produce not the quality I would have chosen. 3. I don’t see an In-store sale price on certain unadvertised items. 4. I don’t get to see an item that I had forgotten we needed. 5. I’m a sociable person so I enjoy running into friends or just chatting with someone. This way I avoid the feeling of isolation. 6. Being out and about helps to Strengthen our immune system. Read up on it. This is how our body functions.

    I've been making my bed every morning for years after reading that, as a mom, it's important to have an oasis to escape to that is always clean and purely an adult zone. That became my bedroom, and it's always clean so that I have that little bit of paradise when I'm pulling my hair out and need to take a deep breath and recenter.
