For the first time on this Channel, I bring you a Cafe Racer project based on the new Honda CB1100.
I always believed the CB1100 would need a lot of work, just to get the right cafe racer stance.
But this beautiful project, proves that I was wrong.
It was built in Italy by the team of South Garage Motor Company, and it was commissioned by Honda Motor Company, to show the potential of the CB 1100, for customization.
On this video, I also present a magnificent aftermarket fuel tank, which has the lines of the classic Honda CB 750 from the 70s.
I hope you like it.
My special thanks to Pedro Torres, for his great help with my English.
Here is the link to the website where you can buy the Honda CB 750 Fuel tank replica, which fits on the Honda CB 1100 EX/CB1100 RS.

I LOVE the larger, sculpted fuel tank of the post-2013 CB-1100. For me, that's 1 of the most attractive elements of this great bike. And the bike still has all the nostalgia of the early CB 750's that I need. The Honda refinement & reliability, the ample power, the upgrades from the original, the 2-into-1 exhausts, etc., combine to make this 1 of the most desirable bikes out there currently.
One of the most underrated motorcycle in the Honda Line up... but boy... what an amazing machine this is!!!! And yes... beautifully presented in the video!!! Simply.... WOW!!!
I actually like the aggressive look of the beefy tank on my 2014 CB1100 cafe racer. Funny, that's what I receive the most compliments on. To each their own.
Mytho.....
The passion of the narrator in delivering such details and comments together produces a drama never before told in the history of motorcycles.
Lol. Thank you my friend for all your kind words. I appreciate your support. :) Cheers.
Recycling existing parts is the essence of building a Cafe Racer. Able to achieve a stunning design with those parts takes a visionary artist of the utmost talent. Bravo to South Garage Motor Company in showing us how simple design tweaks can produce stunning results. Woo Whoo, bike weather has already started.
Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
I bought a 2014 6-speed version in all black. I left mine totally stock and enjoy it as is. I also own a 1982 CB900F and I like them equally.
I’ve got a black 2014 CB1100. Always wanted that 82 900F. Which is quicker? Not top speed, I mean stoplight to stoplight and general riding. Love my 1100 but always wonder if it’s better than the 900F
Marc, I think these two are potentially pretty close. I’ve not ridden them back to back yet but when I do I’ll post my results here.
i have a '14 and i love the tanks in fact i love the bike the way it is
same here, i have a 14 and with a set of tank grips it looks great.
'18 here. love it.
14 here and think it’s perfect. Great bike
Beautiful production of this short film. Watched twice and will come back. Thankyou
Lol. Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
It being built in Milan is so fitting. Beautiful and the attention to detail with the seat and tank flow and the color scheme is perfect.
Jesus loves you obey the Lord you can be saved Jesus loves you. We need Jesus, we sinned, Jesus died for us in the cross.
@Tomas Eric Jesus loves you obey the Lord you can be saved Jesus loves you. We need Jesus, we sinned, Jesus died for us in the cross.

Mais uma Joia pra Coleção. Abraços e Thank you for the Racer TV
Obrigado amigo. Fico contente que tenha gostado. :) Um abraço.
This proves you can have a great cafe racer with very minimal changes. Beautiful!
A beautiful figure has been achieved. Love it.
It is not necessary to become pure. So it is already perfect.
As we say in Spain "being a purist" has not been necessary.
Simplicity, originality and success.
Going back to the origins, with little, a great success.
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Saludos.
Looks awesome with the old fuel tank. Beautiful bike to have for those beautiful days coming in the South suburbs of Chicago. Great video as always.
Amazing !!! this is, imo, the best cafe racer you have presented RACER TV!! and as always top video presentation!!
Thank you sir !!
Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
Obrigado amigo. Fico contente que tenha gostado. :) Um abraço.
Simply beautiful.
Amazing bike. Comment on the Original Honda Tank 1001% correct. All Whitehouse options are 4000+ Euros before shipping... Ouch. But that last mock-up you showed to us is awesome. Thanks for the time and effort again in a great video!
Ouch 😆
Yes, it is expensive. But i think the Whitehous fuel tank is all we need to improve the CB1100. :) Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
@@RACER_TV yes the tank is the key! Great videos!! 🤩🚀😍😇🇨🇭☘️🍓☀️🌴
simple modification.but hard work.impressive bro
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
The fuel tank was my observation/objection as well! Spot on 👍
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
Beautiful, I‘m impressed
Once again, an amazing video on an amazing project. Cheers my friend.
Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
You are exactly right about the fuel tank
I am old (70). My first motorcycle was a 1970 360 Yamaha Enduro. I almost started with a 500 BSA modified for the dirt. All the time lusting after the Norton Commando. I dropped one tooth on the counter shaft on my Yamaha and started to terrorize the Mach lll's on the main street of our city. I was smart enough to keep the races from stop light to stop light (1/8 mi.). One of the local Yamaha dealers got word of the fun I was having and offered to sponsor me. Wahoo, I milled the head. put on an expansion chamber and rejetted a 34mm Mikuni carburetor. I never lost to a Mach lll on main street again. Of course, I avoided 1/4 mile runs. I moved on to 4 stroke road bikes. My last three were a GPZ1100, GS1100E, & a Z900. In an attempt to curb my need for speed I now ride a Triumph America and lust after the cafe racers. I love your web site and your remarkable eye for beauty and detail. I have been shopping for a CB750, but the CB1100 would be less work (and more speed).
Thank you Sir for sharing your personal perspective and experiance. It is very nice to see the oldest motorcycle riders arrond here. Thank you my friend for your support. :) Cheers.
And from the day this video was published they will go up on value!
this is not possible to put several likes, i would do that either.
the spare tank is made by genius, as you said, this the only thing i would change on this bike.
Lol. Thank you my friend for your support. :) Cheers.
You're making me wish I'd never had sold my 75 CB 750.
I don't know how you have maintained such high quality videos over the years...even if I like some more than others, the quality of your videos is always 100% consistently excellent. Obrigado como sempre.
During the last 7 years discovered a simple way of thinking, to know that i am making the videos as I should.
The main goal of each video, is to be true in what i believe, and the most important, I have to like the content and the style of the video.
In other words, I am also a "fan" of my videos, and I have to like to watch them.
Like you said, some videos are better than others, but this also depends of the quality of the video/photo material that I have to work with. :)
Thank you my friend for all your kind words.
Very nice of you to end up the comment in Portuguese. :)
I really appreciate your support. :) Cheers.
@@RACER_TV To clarify...I left out a word....I like some of the (racer designs) more than others....but I appreciate all of the videos equally because of the quality. of course if I like a particular racer, the design has more appeal, and I suspect other viewers including yourself are the same.
Thank you my friend for your support. What you said about the your BMW R75 / 5 numbers is very strange. Are you sure your serial number is correct? Maybe the first number of the last number shouldn't be included on the full serial number sequence. :) Cheers.
@@RACER_TV they told me (at that time) that no serial numbers prior to 1980 are on the database.... I have not tried recently.
interesting video
Very nice job from South Garage, I like the bike very much. Strong but elegant one.
Stunning !
Hahahaahahaha
Honda got this right at the concept stage it is Brilliant red white and blue would still buy it now but my screen saver will have to do .
One more great vision of what is possible on a bike that probably no one like 😀
And one more time great work you did about the tank yessss I had same impression you had
Just love this ❤️
Jesus loves you obey the Lord you can be saved Jesus loves you. We need Jesus, we sinned, Jesus died for us in the cross.
Beginning with front light, tires, magnificent seat... Everything is beautiful! And i agree with this weird fuel tank. Thanks again, great story!!!!
i love this channel for filmography ,excuisite commentary, and richness of videos
Thank you my friend for all your kind words. I appreciate your support. :) Cheers.
Always good to see your video's..story teller 👍💥🤟🌟👊😃
I have always liked the CB1100 and this one is a brilliant showcase for what can be done. Let's hope we see more customised versions of this bike. Kind regards Paul 🇬🇧
Agree 100%
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
Look I'm a big fan I love Cafe. My first was a xs 360 Yamaha. It was a flip of the handle bars and bam it was done it was old school. The tank on the 1100. I know you know what your talking about your right. It's big. It's because honda had to do this and the tech department had to do this. It's the fuel pump for fuel injection. The pump takes away gallons with the displacement in the tank. So however many it takes away the tank gets bigger. They just did it on the klr650 kawasaki new fuel injection. The fuel pump was added for the injection and the classic 5 gallon went to 4.5. So bigger tank. So I'm glad you found a new tank for the fuel pump on the 1100 but what is it now on gallons. Keep up the great work I'm posting on Facebook your videos. Awesome job!!!
I think this build will be on the Racer TV short list for the best of 2021...
Well, it depends of the amazing motorcycles i am going to present until next December. Lol. Cheers.
Spot-on RACER TV!
original é muito bonita 😍
Mas depois de ver ela café racer 🤩 . . . Mudei de ideia 🤩
Parabéns ao canal , obrigado.
Obrigado amigo pelo simpático comentário. :) Um abraço.
Thanks so much for producing such a fantastic channel... 10/10
You are welcome my friend. My pleasure. Cheers.
Hallo Mr. Racer TV. Im mostly impressed of your Videos. You would be impressed by watching the imagination of rock'n roll cycles in Germany. Thank you for your perfekt demonstration on this channel.
Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
That is a beautiful bike well done
I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers
my 2013 is sitting in my basement right now, love it and never selling it, I think its pretty happy sitting next to my 19 CB1000R hahah
That bike is amazing..
The tank is the key! 🥂
MASHAALLAH khub valo video......
Beautiful
Thanks Victor !
I'm all over the aftermarket tank !
I'm all over the aftermarket café style seat !
I'm all over the Coker retro tires !
But I have to say, I'm not a big fan of the trumpet styled mufflers,
( which are much too quiet )
by the way !
To be honest Victor,
I would really like to see a more traditional styled set of
pea-shooters !
Not sure what to expect out of them,
but, you know what they say,
"curiosity killed the cat" !
I would really like to be able to hear if they might have any of the
trade-mark crackle !
Even though it's an inline four !
It would be the final trade-mark look, and sound that would be the ultimate final sell for me Victor !
Otherwise, I'm all about the look they have created !
Great lil beast.!
Sempre top o Canal 👍
Wow sweet ride
Thanks for bringing back the original voice
You are welcome my friend. My pleasure. Cheers.
it looks much better with a replica fuel tank from the original CB750
good movie as always
You nailed it... almost... the biggest problem wasn't the tank... it was the engine. IT was TOO BIG to be a good city commuter, too big (high head) to allow for straight underline tanks (Hence made them opt for that 1980's CB 1100 F tank), too heavy, and worse off the engine was tuned for cruising (and remember... the original 750 was a superbike, not a cruiser), slow, with only 5 speeds (the original model). When it came out it was reviewed "a very good bike that excels at nothing".
What puzzles me even more is that in 2019 was the 50th anniversary of the cb750 four. they could have capitalized on this and sell a shitload of motorcycles if they opted to do one of this motorcycles, with a 750 cc engine, and the oldie tank. I mean, the original 750 four is so good looking that even Honda India created the cb360 h'ness that is selling like hot bread...
Have in mind... By no means it is a bad bike... beautifull (albeit I prefered the original elongated tank), great fit and finish, good MPG after the 6th speed was introduced, and HONDA quality all around... It is a bike I would not mind to own. But it is a meh bike. It is not a bike that makes you want to go from a cafe to the other showing off... Someone once told me: "This is the real deal... You get to a café and everyone will revere you because you are a knowledgeable and experienced man of good taste."... what he was really saying was: "this is it, it is a new old man's bike"... and that is not a good thing.
Oh mate. I knew where you were going from the start. I have already got the Whitehouse / Samurider 4 into 4 plumbing, tank and side panels, forks, gaitors and headlamp bucket, and am currently doing some bespoke tweaks to get even closer to the “look”so my real 1969 K0 can stay in the warm 😊.
id love to see pics
@@dansemacabre3890 Sure. Any idea how to attach photo’s ?
Fixe!

Lol. Obrigado amigo Alex pelo apoio :) Um abraço.
Love the 70s Honda four cylinders, 🇬🇧👍
Great videos as always, If I remember correctly back in US 2010 when the rare CB came out for the price you could still afford 2 nice original CBs from the seventies. Now days if I had a CB 1000 in original condition it would be too a Collectible to mod. #Manxley
Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.

I just don't like the colours and the golden wraped exhaust, but the design is awesome.
Amazing insight😍👌💯
Awesome i love my Hondas!!!
O tanque não é tão ruim... Acho bacana a Honda tentar inovar.

Excelente canal ! Abraço ao homem do Norte ! Cá de baixo dos " moiros"
So good to have the original voice back feels like home again. Also great video on an other great bike mate well done
Preciosa...!!!
I am so glad to see you have an eye for any great bike, no matter what era it is from. It makes me appreciate your ability to spot a good quality custom. From any era. This video has upped my respect for your channel! Liked and subscribed. Good luck to y’all
Thank you my friend for all your kind words. I appreciate your support. :) Cheers.
Beautiful bike
Thank you Amanda. I'm glad you liked . :) Cheers.
This transformation is obviously far better than the stock version, I was never a fan of the stock tank. It looks like a stock sport bike tank. The shape of the CB 750 tank is a much better look for the CB 1100, but I don't like the look of the larger aftermarket tank either. A stock CB 750 would have been my choice, but then again, this is not my bike...
I am not so sure about using the stock CB 750 fuel tank on the CB 1100. It may be too small for the CB1100. But Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
No matter what your aesthetic flavor, I'm just happy to see the rise of modern classic standard bikes. I love the old ones, and the new ones. As far as the tank goes, I both agree and disagree. As far as wanting classic lines, to pay homage to a throwback machine aspect, I agree. As far as letting it be its own new version of a classic standard bike, but with just the right amount of updates, like usable knee cutouts... I think the updated tank is just fine. No matter which way you want to look at it, it's still a wonderful machine. In the midst of all these egomaniacal, overbuilt, fat tire, loud pipes, with too much chrome and ostentatious paint job show cruisers, it's so standard, it's outstanding, because it's a clean, simple motorcycle, done with good Honda build quality.
I used to hate the narration of this channel but now I find it oddly calming and irresistible.
Lol. Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
Wow , your version is amazing
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
Didn’t see the tank being an issue but, now I do.
Perfect 👌🏼
Well. I think the Showcase by the Italian company knocked the ball out the park. The seat is to die for and to my eyes compliments the stock tank brilliantly. Always had a soft spot for the 1100 and quite like the new tank especially in flat colours. I want one! 😎
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
Uma jóia!!!
Kawasaki got it right with the z900rs fuel tank, body kit, and 70's paint schemes.
Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
Another great video, as allways.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
I certainly agree with you on the tank and side covers. Maybe Honda will see this this and make these changes. Thanks for the video
Good work
It looks amazing
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
Awesome! 😎👍🏻
Excellent
I think you're very accurate with your review. Both of the customizers did a great job in keeping the essence of the original Honda. Although the stock CB is a nice bike I do think Honda could have pushed the envelope a little more towards their heritage.
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. I am glad you agree with me. :) Cheers.
@@RACER_TV you do a good objective show!
Great video, thanks!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
Yeap the fuel tank and price was a deal breaker with the cb1100 indeed. Awesome design tweak with the seat tilt, exactly what that bike needed 👍 😁. Bravo with the review bro. Cheers
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
Is it just me or did anybody else notice the stitching on the seat matches the tyre tread pattern.
It is a shame that the Honda designers didn't go a little further to make the 1100 look more like the 750. If you want to go retro, do it wholeheartedly.
I always look forward to these videos. Their wonderfully produced and a joy to watch.
Yes, I was going to mention the seat stitching on the video. But somehow, I ended up leaving it out from the script. :) Thank you my friend for your support. :) Cheers.
In my opinion what makes the old 750 shine brighter than anything else Honda built afterwards is that unique growl from the SOHC engine. The lines were beautifull but that engine was something one cannot explain. Unique and irreplaceable.
Brilliant.
