- From Director Ron Ormond (The Estus Pirkle Trilogy) comes one of his earlier efforts, the frigid wife exploitation film Please Don't Touch Me, which is about a marriage possibly saved by hypnotism.

This movie had to be the inspiration for the mother-daughter conversations in The Room.
"It's True."
"I Definately have the Brest Cancer."
A traumatic time for any women but since the Mother said the line with no feeling, I'm going to type it without an exclamation point ;)
Cheers from Canada
Oh hi Mark!
i was thinking that as well
Ron Ormond the exploitation director:We don't want men to come.
Ron Ormond the religious fearmonger:We want men to come.
I know it’s a 60s exploitation movie but DAMN. Girl is sexually assaulted as a teenager and no one can understand why she doesn’t want to have sex.
Yeah, it's like saying that you wanna ban safe sex and then being surprised that STDs are spreading
OH WAIT
Thanks for the old Folgers commercial. You reminded me of a story about a little boy who brought his mother a cup with one of his plastic soldiers in it. When she asked why, he told her that the best part of waking up was soldiers in your cup.
I was more reminded of that incest Folgers commercial 😅
@@Gideon13397 I remember that one.
I wonder if her child later grew up to be part of a Hideo Kojima game, about a delivery man that also had a phobia of being touched. I feel James Randi would have had a field day with this feature.
I'm fragile, but I'm not that fragile
She should've bought Wilkins Coffee. It won't kill the petunias, but bad things will happen to you if you don't drink it.
😂
Hollywood loves remakes.......how about we remake it and call it "Blueballs"
“Please Don’t Touch Me” should be the title of a movie about Harvey Weinstein.
That’s the sequel, “Please Don’t Make Me Touch You”
Sounds like a documentary about Chris Chan
Eww
Or my wife's honeymoon tape 😕
Yeahhh.
I wouldn't blame her if working in this movie put her off acting forever but the main actress, Vicki, really is lovely.
She is stunning!
Yeah, the whole "trauma caused by information that occurred while unconscious" angle is definitely a Dianetics angle. Crazy to know that Ron Ormond could have made even crazier movies had he taken THAT path.
Now this is a What If... scenario we desperately need answered.
Christ her mother is the best character. That shot of her fully in frame and the doctor shutting the door on her made me laugh too hard.
Also the awkward interactions and dialogue between the husband and wife.
Ormand should have brought her back in a spinoff warning against marrying Black Widows
Watching this while reading class of ‘86. Loving it
"Please don't touch me'" should be my memoir title. 😊
I really Love these strange, "what genre is it?" Episodes!
Not only are they funny and entertaining. They
also teach us parts of film history, that were not shown in my textbook! :)
Thanks Mr. Snob!
You are my favorite, film history teacher :)
Cheers from Canada
P.S. I try not to think of all the money I wasted on Film School (University). I should have just stuck with Brad, MST3K, RLM and Joe Bobb Briggs ;)
This reminds me of Glen Or Glenda. In that one, the producers asked Ed Wood for a sleazy exploition piece about sex changes. And instead got a dull, earnest exploration of cross dressing with a short sequence about sex changes tacked on the end.
Do you think for this one the producers asked Ron Ormond for a sleazy sexploitation movie? And instead got a dull, earnest exploration of hypnotherapy and psychology with a little bit of cleavage tacked on the end.
Wait, why was he tearing up the panties with his teeth? That was weirder than anything else we saw! Maybe Bill needs the therapist. Thanks Snob!
Because he’s frustrated.
Sexual frustration does that to you mate.
As a hypnotherapist, I expected this to be so much worse and twenty times more exploitative. Now I actually want to see the full film if I can. McGill is a legend in my field.
Love this! Best part: Brad showing a coffee commercial starring Tim O'Kelly, the sniper from "Targets"
I knew he was familiar!
I love how some people want to take us back to more 'innocent' times, but those times were WAY more trashy than now.
Yeah, because Princess Bubblegum and Marceline going on a date is worse than half the things in Deuteronamy
Not joking, someone on Reddit called the Obsidian kiss 'actual pornography'
There is something about the lighting in a Ron Ormond movie that is just disturbing.
I think that plus the greasy, grainy film stock give 'em such, um, quality.
@7:00 I suddenly think I know where Tommy wiseau got the inspiration for the mother daughter scene in the room. Even the hair is the same on the mother in style
Oh, great. Now I can't decide whether I want to see "The Room," or "The Disaster Artist" again. Probably the latter of the two.
"Hypnotism, Booze & Valium" was the 50s square's version of "Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll"
Mr. Jones, you are a great critic. Please don't lose your panache and your drive. Hope you are okay
23:17 that was indeed as sinister as promised.
Her delivery reminds me of the way Norman Bates talked (in his head) at the end of “Psycho.”
The mother's line readings were so bad they distracted me from how crazy the writing is.
that guy in the folgers commercial IS THE KILLER FROM TARGETS!!!!
Off topic but that redhead actress is fire 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome, Snob episode right on time
5:38 Perfect insert! Love me some BATMAN RETURNS!
24:38 I don't think those panties are the edible kind!
More like Oedipal panties,
Dr La Rue- “pardon me while I whip this out!”
Filmed in rape-o-vision
i was so sure the therapist was gonna hypno-rape her in that scene wtf lol. or hypnotize her into having sex with her husband when he came in later, this movie is unintentionally suspenseful for things that end up not happening, just like the wife's trauma---- wait maybe that WAS intentional after all, fear of/anxiety about things that don't happen lol. genius!
Ha! Stream I was watching just ended after talking about personal space differences across the globe. I check my notifications afterward and this is at the top. Perfection.
That black-and-white Folgers commercial would've been funnier if he'd said "I knew you were trying to poison me!"
Wow! I didn’t know Jessica Rabbit used to be a human! 😉
Congratulations on the kid! Here's to hoping they don't become a teenage bride!
I blame cs188 for making me think of that Folgers commercial all the time for the wrong reasons.
I swear I saw a very similar film to this one but it was from the 1930's and in Black and White. Nearly had the same plot.
A 50s movie... with actual therapy?
Eric Holmberg: BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the twist was happening I thought for sure it was going to reveal that the old man was her father, that he chased off the attacker then took advantage of his unconscious daughter. Then that the mother walked in on it. And that’s the reason why she divorced his ass and refused an examination on her daughter. But I guess I got a little too invested in the plot.
I find it hysterical that this movie has some similar musical cues to the Estus Pirkle movies
Thank you for the constant uploads.
And here i thought you were suppose to melt an icy heart with a cool island song.
A new Snob video!
A little disappointed Lash doesn't use a whip convert Viki to...well, I guess just bondage, and turn her into Bettie Page...or at least somehow solving their problems with a whip.
Eyes wide shut in Mayberry 😂😂😂
1:20- Don't worry, Brad. You already reviewed Child Bride 12 years ago. Also, you showcased the trailer to Teenage Mother in your 42nd Street Vol. 1 episode 10 years ago.
5:41- "Ah, ya big baby! Just blanks."
10:38- Sounds like the name of one of Frasier Crane's relatives from an alternate universe.
24:13- I agree this is just like one of Ormond's religious movies, but if you took out Jesus and replaced him with sex.
The mother is clearly meant to be Lana Turner.
Should have been titled "Mother is a C..."
Your riffs are better than the current rifftrax episode
first thought seeing this title in my subscriptions: "Too Smart For Strangers?"
All it's missing is the Dragon Art Theatre intro.
9:33 Damn! You almost slipped into your Vic Dealio character.
How can I not click on this?
I wish the Cinema Snob went back to being angry at all of these movies he reviews. Hopefully being a father will spark that intolerance in him again.
Yes, but when will we be getting 1984: A Year In Film?
5:39 lol I was waiting for the Batman Returns reference.
how is this not an ed wood film?
As I agree with you on the fact before his religious experience movies it's not much different, but yeah it's one of those meh. If I was bored and had a few drinks probably would give a watching. Great episode.
That very well could be an e-Meter but I’m not concluded it’s a Scientology reference. Around this time the movie was made the Dianetics book would have been out (I think there was a gap between Dianetics’s release and the adoption of the church). Some medical practitioners of the time might have been experimenting with the practice or the writer could’ve had insight into it. Of course this is just a movie and I’m not saying all doctors of the time used emeters (I wasn’t alive yet at the time) but I could theorize some could have.
The movie’s automobile was supplied by Volkswagen
So....the attacker never got a stitch of clothing off her (Granny panties and all) and Mom still assumed she got raped?
And no exam to make sure no VD or anything?
Mother Of The Year right there.
Thank God Ormond didn't make Abstinence films for Focus on the Family.
k so he has to take off his ring which means other women wouldn't know he's married but she keeps hers which should be much more triggering. I know for myself I look at my own hand a lot more than my wife's as much as I love her I'm not constantly looking to see if she has my ring on her hand
I do kinda wish something like Ron Ormond making ultra-violent religious movies would happen today. Could you imagine what a Christian Persecution Complex movie directed by Quentin Tarentino would look like?
The Sound Of Thunder
Haha I’ve seen that Coffee commercial before, CS188 did a CZcams poop of it
Please cover more pre-Christian Ron Ormond movies.
Wow, Geena Davis's early career was weird.
Funny, one of the reasons for the main character's divorce in Taboo was making love with the lights ON!
5:50 Did anyone else think of the music video for "Head Like a Hole" by Nine Inch Nails during that scene?
14:55 Raped when she was a LITTLE girl? At 15, when she had the same body she has now? If she had been somewhere between 8 and 12, I'd find that line more believable.
I have no comment to say about the movie but congratulations on your new princess or prince. But there's one comment I like you make I'm surprised she up and left him LOL. Do you know who rates anime. The same way that you do. I would like to know
He'll warm her icy heart with a hot island song.
Or is it freshen her hot temper with a cool island song?
@1:39 Oh my god😂. I was grumbling to myself yesterday about some dudes on yt in their 30s watching kiddy shows and calling the teenage girl character/s bitch/bitches. Can you say 'unresolved'😅
Interesting title for a movie.
Whoa, what a blast from the past, this was Great-great-grand-parent of hypno gooning. LMAO I always thought hent@i was the first but alas, this was inspiration of kinky fetish.
You got to review "The Exotic Ones". It will blow your mind.
Wasnt that silver dress used in sinister urge?
Is there a date for when 1983 in film will be on CZcams
9:06 with their clothes on or off?
15:50 Boing?
Funny stuff as always, Snob, but I was looking through your website's video archives, and if you made anything in 2007 or 8, it's not there. What happened?
I feel dirty forvadmitying that, but I am kind of disappointed that movie is not as rapey and misogynistic as I expected. The exploitation movie about hypnotizing woman into having sex has no right to he so wholesome and innocent (relatively speaking).
Wait was Ron Ormond a scientologist?
I get that he was a born again nut job, but I wouldn't have taken him for a Scientologist (mostly now that I type this out)?
If you touch me, well I just think I'll scream.
Mother was a real emotional nutcase, trying to turn her daughter against men, .
lol, "Something weird"
please dont touch me a movie sounds like one of those movies they made for children this one a special addition on catholic priests
6:39 Who would build those, and why? Don't we have sexbots now?
8:54 Folger's? Get that crap outta here! You want to invite the wrath of Wilkins?
Where is the burning flesh? ;0). If hypnotism, booze, and valium tire you, what will BoJack do?
So Ron Ormond, the director of the most unintentionally hilarious religious film trilogy, made this pre-Estus Pirkle trilogy. Definitely looks to check all the boxes, minus the religious stuff. Bad acting, bad production quality, only it doesn't know what kind of genre it wants to be. But at least the one positive I'll say is, it didn't end with someone saying "Will you come?". 🤣
This movie WHY? Ha. This is like what would happen if an exploitation director had no idea what women actually do. Oh. Oh snap. The Mom is about is subtle as the Mom in The Room.
This was less rapey than I assumed. I look at the poster and title and assume it's about marital rape then I look at the film and it's less disturbing.
I wonder how many of these exploitation films there are where you assume it will feature disturbing sexualities rape, pedophilia, etc., and then turns out to be less disturbing that you assumed.
Many such disappointments for perverts all throughout the 1960s. Those posters are an early precursor of clickbait thumbnails.
@@Baalur a lot of AIP's posters are clickbait as well. You look at the poster assuming a cool monster flick or an exciting race/crime film only to end up with a slow movie with goofy monsters or a few bits of action.
I wonder how many films of Ron Ormond or other such exploitation directors there are that are like this. They make you think they'll be rape or sex or BDSM stuff but then you see the movie and it's softcore stuff at most or we get maybe some nudity.
If he is a foot person he going to love the barbie flim
So... She was (she thought) assaulted by a stranger, which makes her scared of sex, and she married someone who would rather brainwash and assault her, too, instead of respecting her fears and traumas? I hate this.
Didn't you hear what the mother said? Men only think of their own pleasure.
Who played the redhead in the beginning?
I believe that was Viki Caron
@@roringusanda2837 If only Hugh Hefner had met her...
@@ViegasSilva she is... gifted! 👀😮😍
Don’t Touch Me: The Harvey Weinstein Story.
No try Starbucks. 😉☕
This is waay worse than White’s religious films
What gets to me is, not that men treated women like vanity pets, but that women rolled with it like _"Yup, this is normal"._
Hey. Dick Crane here
I think I'm pregnant now... sweet.
