If it’s WiFi then it won’t work because you can’t send the shutdown command to a computer over your WiFi. Hope this helped but if not then you might wanna ask on some forums on the internet
I’m not sure if this would work but you might be able to create a virtual machine connected to that network to access command prompt and bypass all the restrictions that your host machine wouldn’t be able to.

It says "failed to connect to registry" when I try to shutdown my computer using this. Do you know how I can get over this problem?

Tip: use a batch file and run the same commands just replace the - with /

This worked bc I own a pc but the schools "computer" are all Chrome's so will this work?
Also you need administration privilege's ....most school / public networks have everyone set up as guest or restricted accounts

i have a way if ur school admins have blocked cmd 1. go to note pad and write down pause enter (dont spell enter press enter) shutdown -i the press enter then pause 2. go to file then press save as not save save as and then change the file type to any then call the note pad anyname.bat make sure there is .bat and save it to ur desktop 3. go to ur desktop and open it then when u open it u will go to command prompt and then press any letter and it will run the command shutdown -i and then u will have the shutdown dialog.
