    Today I will be comparing the before and after the installation of optional 11.83% Overdrive Gears. It's a pretty significant difference in performance.

    So interesting in how the gearing can change the characteristics in climbing! Thank you for sharing!

      It makes a difference on climbs. The front wheels work harder to pull up, while the slower wheel speed of rear does not try to pull you back.

    my trailrunner seems slow compared to my gatekeepper must be the gearing?

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  Před 2 lety +1

      Gatekeeper/Ecto is definitely seems to be higher geared. I haven't checked the exact specs, but I plan to go to smaller pinion on my Ecto to help with slow crawl.

    1 QUESTION HOW DOES EFFECT THE LONGEVITY OF THE VEHICLE,READ A LOT ON THE FORMS ABOUT THIS UPGRADE?BESIDES THAT GREAT VIDEO🤜🤛

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  Před 3 lety

      That's a great question, and something you will need to seriously consider before making the changes. If you are mainly doing trail riding, then just keep it at stock 5.7% OD. There is no reason to move upto 11.83% and risk higher potential longevity issues. I mainly use it for rock climbing with occasional trail riding, so for me it is an essential upgrade. That being said, I don't bash my rigs either. On my main rig I was on 11.83% OD for quite while and I have put tons of miles on it. I recently swapped the gears for 25% OD. While swapping out to 25% OD, I did not notice any extra wear and tear on the gears. Considering that Element RC supplied with optional 11.83% option with plastic gear, I feel pretty confident, it won't be much an issue. Now anything greater than 11.83% would be another story.

      @@BigSungHobbies Is there any noticeable differences between 12% and 25% overdrive?

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  Před 3 lety

      @@danielsonhobbies It really depends on what kind of terrain you plan to drive. Keep in mind that the main use of my Gspeed Element is Crawling. For crawling, I would highly recommend it. It gives you that extra grab on the front tires, and you have seen the terrain that I am crawling at. Going from 11.83% to ~25% makes a huge difference. But if you plan to use it as a mixed environment where you are trailing and crawling, then I would recommend 11.83% or even 5.7% if you trail most of the time with occasional crawling.

    Have you done anything to the front shocks to give it better articulation in the front, they look so stiff from the factory

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  Před 3 lety

      I have not done anything to the front shocks. IFS system weighs more so they compensated with stiffer springs. It might be worth it to see if we can make it a bit softer, but I have not yet done so.
