  • Nice and simple job today replacing the leaking rocker cover gaskets on my 2005 Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.6 16v Petrol (TU5JP4). I also replace the oil breather pipe I snapped when carrying out a full service on the car.

Got one on LPG, the previous owner had it chipped from 109 to 119 PK, the French did a good job on this one, simple to work on, cheap parts, very practical! Arguably the most practical over any larger van or MPV/SUV because of the low weight and dimensions, simple reliable engines, very easy slidingdoors, a breeze for the elderly. The only thing that bothers me is that over active overengineered eco mode! Each time after parking, I just zip open my bag to look in it the damn lights dim to off.... Lately I just open and close a door for a few extra French seconds... I also have a larger 90s Toyota Previa that I just restored with new brakes and shocks and everything, my new dayly driver dream car?... I always drove a Fiat Scudo camper, which is just that bit bigger, so the Berlingo/Partner just came in 20cm too short for me to sleep in the back without having to move the front seats way forward, or even all the way back...just too short for my liking.
BUT I cannot choose which one to keep, the Japanese or the French,... my peugeot Partner just keeps on topping it as far as practicality goes, It handles big bumps better, I almost never need to break for traffic bumps, and it's way cheaper to own.... Very hard to sell a Berlingo/Partner, and trade it in for what they call a more luxurious, better driving car, especially with the roofstorage and sunroofs, thats exactly what this car needs!! The list positives is almost endless, but my 'new old' 95 Toyota Previa mid engine RWD has one thing the Peugeot cannot really give me: a thrill when driving it! Hard choice...... Driving my Previa gives mee a better feeling, but my Peugeot always gets me everywhere fast and cheap, and yes its easy to clean on the inside. This it the kind of car you forget you use it every day for everything, it just assists you without screaming for attention.. Thàt car you should never have sold ;)

This car is perfect for people who don't really care about the ride and just want the most practical car to get from a-b. The best thing about the berlingo/partner is that its not a wide car, its actually very manouverable on small roads and in cities and doesn't feel large like many suv's do. The worst part besides it steerling like a boat is how terrible fuel economy it gets,I have the 110hp one too and while its not that slow, it gets terrible mileage because of the shape of the car. I will scrap it soon(it has done over 300.000km) and my plan is to get a Peugeot 2008
