    Great review here! Adventure medical makes some pretty cool med kits that are lightweight and convenient for hiking. Just subbed and can't wait to see more!

    I use the Maxpedition cacoon pouches, I actually have a few. I use 1 as a fire starter kit. Various kinds of fire starting stuff, some dryer lint, all the goodies etc. Another 1 for water purification stuff, Steripen, water tabs, a folder up water bag etc. Another 1 as a field armory kit for my Ar-15 and or Ak, and then a cleaning kit with 30cal Hoppes Bore snake, a bore snake for my AR, patches, a small bottle of rem oil, gun butter, couple brushes, the winchester multi cleaning kit thing thats red and everything stores in it. Very useful little thing. Well anyway like I said, theyre great for storage and just use your imagination :) Great review tho!

    Good review mate, I've been looking for a solid pack that isn't too big for EDC and weekend fishing trips along some gnarly rivers. In my part of the world we don't carry a lot in the wild because it very rarely gets cold. Just a waterproof tarp and a few survival essentials is all we need to last the night comfortablyand this bag would do the job very nicely. Time to grab one I think. Cheers.

    nice job. my suggestions would be: sounds like your urban (working in an office), so a 4-way silcock key and a lock picking set would be useful. if you're country you need a compass and a way to purify water (sawyer mini, purification tablets, etc). in either case you need a knife, and a secondary way to make a fire. just noticeds the date so i assume you have probably remade you kit a number of times :)

    Nice video. I'm also building a similar bag setup where there's room to carry non-edc stuff. I hate having my edc bag on me but being unable to stuff purchases in it because it's so packed. Moving up to a backpack from the UTG tactical messenger (sling) bag.
    You asked for suggestions for the cocoon... to me it screams external molle flashlight holder, especially since you have a leatherman in the one on your bag. You could also attach it externally and use it for a small tripod for your camera.

    for that maxpidetion small zip bag, you can put your firemaking compnents in there, I would also suggest a bic light and some matches, just in case.

    i want one to leave in my car trunk as a get home bag. that's all i wan it for. just to leave in there. something happens it'll strap-on and carry easy. i think it's just the right size for a get home bag. thx! thumbed-it-up!

    another thing.. that's what i was doing.. using one of those smaller cheap-o bags where i have everything crammed in it where i can't access the stuff very easy, but it is a get home bag for me and for me not an EDC bag. anyway, those smaller bags are too small IMO for either use and i think that's a good point you made about this bag. boy, you give those zippers heck, don't you? !!!

    I filmed this using a Canon Vixia HF20. (I thought it was a Sony, but its not.) It is a few years old now, so I am sure it is outdated. But it's a nice camera.

    You should pack para cord or something under your multi tool so your not carrying things with only one purpose. Just a thought.

    It's a edc (every day carry) bag why do people rag on his bag thinking its a bug out bag, a edc bag is a man purse that you use for everyday tasks

    Number 1 problem with all these so called edc bags.
    They are filled up with so much "survival" stuff, there's no room left to use the bag for anything else.
    My feeling is that most of these edc bags are filled for videos and Instagram and carried very little if at all.

    Coffee, a Tea Bag and some Lifesavers is NOT food-it is 45 minutes of a Sugar High. If this is your EDC, sir, you will NOT survive!

    • @jamesritchie6899
      @jamesritchie6899 Před 8 lety +1

      +Bruce Forster Coffee and tea are two of the best things you can have in a survival pack. Well, guess you don't really read much, do you? If you did, you'd know that both are not only popular now, they have been for two hundred years.
      Lifesavers are good, too. There's nothing at all wrong with a sugar high. It is, in fact, a very good thing, if you know when to use it.
      If you even NEED a food item of any type in your EDC, you, sir, have no clue what you're doing.

    Very disappointed with customer service and warranty. Did you know that the "Lifetime Limited Warranty" has nothing to do with you? It actually has to do with the "Lifetime" of the materials they use and what Maxpedition perceives that to be. I quote "Lifetime is defined as the expected life of the product, not the user's lifetime." I learned the hard way when I called for a repair and was turned down

    • @spsmith1965
      @spsmith1965  Před 9 lety

      I talked to a Maxpedition rep at Blade Show last year about a broken buckle. He sent me a replacement and they even paid postage. So in my experience, customer service is very good. But I understand that you may have had a different experience. My only complaint with Maxpedition is the price of their packs. I think they do make a very well made product, but I also think it is more expensive than it really needs to be.
