    Good video man, explaining Ackerman was really helpful in understanding it, never really exactly knew what it meant

    Good video. You’re using the ball joint tool upside down. That’s why it didn’t fit. No need to cut the ball joints guys.

    • @AimlessJP
      @AimlessJP  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! For pressing the ball joint out, it needs to be in that orientation. It would not function flipped as that would be how you press the ball joint up rather than down. I also did search around and it seems like it’s pretty common to have to cut the shank because it shouldn’t fit in a traditional ball joint press but I am always happy to learn something new if you can help me understand better with maybe an article or video? Thanks for sharing, I’ll continue to look more into this myself as well!

      @@AimlessJP sorry, that’s completely wrong. I use the same press a bunch. I just did my S13 Moog ball joints, worked just fine both ways. You are not using the small “disc” shaped adapters that come with the set.
      I will try and post up a video, when I do some again.

      Wait I think it just clicked. You’re talking about the disc that is about 10mm tall huh? If the inner diameter is bigger than the ball joint then it should work. That completely went over my head! Thanks for sharing, I’ll pin this up top so others can see it!

    what would be the outcome if you used bump steer tie rods like the isr one with the pbm knuckles? i just put my knuckles on with the isr tie rods and haven’t got the car aligned yet. but was finna go back to the oem otr but someone said the bump steer otr with drop knuckles is good

    • @AimlessJP
      @AimlessJP  Před rokem

      The biggest issue will be that the tie rods will have much more force applied to them since the leverage point is much lower than where the knuckle mounts to the lower. It is similar to running bump steer outers on stock knuckles. Also you will have much less wheel clearance and will be stuck having to run 18+ wheels up front. In my opinion, it’s just another point which can fail and is unnecessary so I would just run oem or oem style outers just to be safe. Hopefully my 2¢ helps :)

    What are your front brake calipers off?

    • @AimlessJP
      @AimlessJP  Před 2 lety +1

      They are from a turbo 300zx so they are 30mm aluminum calipers :)

      @@AimlessJP Thanks, can I ask how come the knuckles have partshopMAX on them if they are PBM? Are they the same company?
