With the release of "Deadpool & Wolverine" a few months away, I thought it would be fun to do my personal rankings of Hugh Jackman's live-action costumes. Ranging from casual, right up to full leather..

His Days of Future Past hair is the best it will ever look. I hated his hair in The Wolverine, so I'm really disappointed they brought it back for Deadpool. It's such a lazy, dumb look with the teased spikes coming off the side of his head. It looks like me when I have bedhead in the morning lol

@Azrael725 I think stylistically it worked for both those movies tho because it's a Logan who doesn't give a fuck because he's lost so much he's just kinda done. I agree tho DOFP is his best hair easily
I liked his hair in X1 and X2 the best. It was actual Jackman's hair, not wigs like in Apocalypse or the past part of DOFP, it seemed elaborate and like Logan would actually get up early in the morning to achieve it. I agree that in The Wolverine, he looked like he couldn't care less about his hair. In D&W we're getting a depressed Wolverine variant so I guess the messy short hairdo is back for that reason... and maybe also cause Jackman didn't want to wear a wig anymore and can't do the X1/X2 hairdo with his natural hair.
Is it just me or does wolverines origins hairstyle give him a more youthful look in that film.

I really like his look in X-Men days of future past
those black leather suits for X1, X2, X3
if you notice, the colour trim reflect the colours the characters wore in the comics
Cyclops had blue trim - reflecting his Jim Lee suit
Storm had a white/silver trim - same as Cyclops
Wolverine had orange trim - reflect his brown suit
Jean had green trim in X1 and red trim in X2 - reflecting her Phoenix/Dark Phoenix suits
The people that made those suits: “that’s enough color… right? Right? Yeah yeah totally enough let’s move on”

Ngl I’ve always kinda been obsessed with the hair and how it’s slightly different from movie to movie but I like how in Deadpool and Wolverine his hair is exactly the same as it was in the Wolverine 2013
I'm kinda hoping the shoulder pads during the sleeveless shots in Deadpool 3 are just unfinished shots. I imagine the way they'd attach would be pretty uncomfortable and difficult in action sequences. So adding them with vfx later would make sense. It does look fine without them so it doesn't matter if they are missing in the finished film. But yeah, i think the suit would look better with the shoulder armor still included.

I agree; the Deadpool and Wolverine costume shouldn't have lost the shoulder pads.
It helps make his shoulder's look more broad. I wouldn't mind if they added them back in post.
I saw something saying they were doing some minor reshoots so maybe?

Personally his X3 look is actually my favorite, although I can't deny that seeing the blue and yellow Spandex in live action is awesome.
In my opinion Days of Future Past is #1 in both categories. The time period style of throwback and futuristic is done beautifully! The paisley button up with the leather jacket and the pilot shades is cool af!

It's impossible for me to rank my favourites. Hugh's Logan always looked his best, even if he was hairy and bearded at the beginning of The Wolverine. I like his look in the first two movies though. The black leather costume was perfect imo. I like the yellow suit as well, and I wish he saw him in an action scene in DOFP with the armour plated suit. It's a shame the movie didn't begin with him saving Kitty like the comic... we never saw the DOFP suit in fight.
Casual
Tank Top Logan is basically a uniform. The uniform he wears before he transforms into his Wolverine suit. My number 1.
Honestly I think DOFP I think I perfer over his usual casual jacket. The guys an old man and could rock it in the present day.
Traditional
It's a shame the "solo" films lacked a Wolverine suit. Probably the perfect time to have a yellow or brown uniform.
The briefcase suit, I'd still like to see. I'd love a Dredd approach where the actor doesn't really take it off for most of the film.
The leather Black suit is still pretty nice. Wolverine got a great suit. Everyone else.....no so much. I would have liked to see that suit evolve into a colorful uniform or at least show up in the solo films.
DOFP - Man I wish we had seen that in action.
Deadpool and Wolverine - Of course it's number one. Hopefully the next Wolverine evolves this look. Agreed I think shoulderpads when have been nice for sleeveless. But for all we know that could still happen.
I like the bomber jacket from Days of Future Past comic. Not that they did it in the movies. I have the Alex Ross Earth X Wolverine bust that has the bomber jacket.

So the reason why the shorter sleeves in Deadpool & Wolverine is because it’s a homage to his first appearance in a Hulk comic where he didn’t have shoulder pads and his mask had smaller “ears”

hi chris do you know if the classic suit we see in "the wolverine" deleted scene was made to get worn by hugh or is it just a display piece ? i love the look of the mask it still looks comic accurate but kinda has a realistic tone to it at the same time

I’m with you the shoulder pads would have completed the look.
While I’m very happy for the majority of fans celebrating the arrival of the blue & yellow suit (which does look great!), it was a personal disappointment that we never got to see the brown and yellow suit outside of the case.
From what we’ve actually seen, the casual look with the leather jacket from the first movie and costume look is the tactical uniform from DoFP’s dark future are my favorites
Chris, If you look, it’s not actually torn at the shoulders, it’s a straight cut that you can’t cut without a blade, Deadpools swords are Adamantium, he probably cuts his arms off to stop Wolverine from attacking him and well… the gauntlets stay on but the sleeves wouldn’t be able to stay up so probably just tears them off when putting the arms back on??? Idk, just a theory
That's an interesting theory The only problem with that theory is that unlike deadpool Wolverine can't regrow limbs or reattach them but I will say that maybe deadpool will TRY to cut his arms off but wolverine will dodge it and it would cut the sleeve forcing wolverine to rip them off
But who is to say he rips them off while fighting deadpool? if the rumors r true about the multiple cameos In this movie then he could be fighting say deadpool or sabretooth then rips them off

3) tank top
4) brown jacket with stripes
5) yellow suit
6) black suit from the wolverine
7) 1973 leather look
8) shirtless the wolverine look
9) Logan look
I actually like to watch all the x-men movies up to days of future past. It’s a nicer more satisfying watch through. Apocalypse and dark pheonix suck, Logan as good as it is can be depressing and the deadpool movies I like to watch separately.
I made up a Blender Roblox model of Wolverine even though I am more into DC than into Marvel.
