Hey Pete, don't hate on the purple cap, we are mandated by portuguese law to cap in Portugal every time we have a chance to. He had to do it
I've heard some crazy stories about people who don't cap there, scary 😶
He is from Portugal.
Respect their culture and customs 🙏
*straight to jail meme*
😂😂😂
Great win pete, that Russia cap pivot and fast attacking to prevent death were great moves.
"I will not be yelling into the mic today" ... Minute and a half later: "EUROPE ADVANCED oh I said I wasn't gonna do it" 😂 lol this is why I love this channel
Love your philosophical/metaphysical ideas. Well said !
Everyone needs to gang on you pete. Your play is so fast. Gives us mobile users no chance. Especailly when your as good as you.
They do. I say if you're playing on mobile make sure to set a 90s timer at least.
One of the most interesting things about the Sahara desert is its vast size and extreme climate. Covering an area of over 3.6 million square miles, the Sahara is the largest hot desert in the world. It is also one of the hottest places on Earth, with temperatures reaching up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius) in the summer months. Despite the harsh conditions, the Sahara is home to a variety of unique plant and animal species that have adapted to survive in this extreme environment. Additionally, the desert is rich in history and culture, with ancient civilizations, nomadic tribes, and stunning landscapes that have captivated travelers for centuries.
Not sure why you felt the need to let us know this interesting fun fact, but I appreciate it all the same, excellent tidbit.
@@LithmusEarth when I first started watching this video, it only had 4 comments. 2 of them were Sahara facts. So I added a third. 😁
Love your intro, also like you changing it up and not yelling this time, just started haven’t even capped yet but I know it’s going to be a fun game
I do love the yelling tho
@@TheKillPeteStrategy WHHHHHHAAAATS up rIIIIIIIISSSSSSK TAKERZZZZ
I like the europe advance cap warcry lol PS: What kind of play was that pissing off the 2 last players? Then open green cap? How are you first place? if i was green, you would of lost at 57:19 id sue the 260 troops on cap to your 211 and take your 3 cards. After that i'd break all orange bonuses since he has no card to come back in a good while. (retake a new cap from orange and lose 55 troops more to take it)
It's tradition at this point
These settings were fun to watch, great game dude!
Pete, you released a breakdown video the other week it was very informative would you consider releasing another one on this game (condensed) but focusing on the tactics you used to escape being card blocked? GG on a tough win as well
Why did Green bot out?
About 48 minutes in it's like, oh boy here we go, Once we got down to 3 players, it's going to stalemate for the back half of the video, but I'm going to stick it out for now and we'll see what we get.
Complete Set!
Pete youre a great player, but orange setting and hitting the scandi cap was obvious. the Pivot was interesting in execution, i would have done it differently but probably also ended with around 170 on cap... the run to escape death was nothing short of galaxy brain genius! Well played sir, very well played!
Do you own any physical risk boards as well? Like have you collected some interesting ones?
Yep. I hosted a few content creators for risk at my home to play IRL a few months ago.

:Jaw Dropped:😮
Many games I could have survived at least a few more rounds if I knew I could do this😂
Thank you. I tried every trick in the book there to not die
Another taste the rainbow win 😎
Pete, genuine question, why was your cap relocation better if the original position needed 6 points to trap you, and the new one needed 5? You could get card blocked with fewer territories on the Russia cap.
I see your relocation helped the other players hit each other though.
Gimme a time stamp. I moved caps more than once this game
@@TheKillPeteStrategy sure Pete. At 54:44 you are blocked with 6 territories. Your cap at 1:13:48 can be card blocked with just 5 territories, making it easier to cap block you there. Love your channel dude ;)
@@pariss1445 Ah now I get the question.
It's not only about how many terriories are required to set up the block but also how many cards are free off the cap before I have to worry about one.
The second cap is way better at that time stamp because I have at least 6 cards to take before I have to worry about switching.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy I see! Thanks Pete. Looking forward to 200k subs!
I don't get to play a lot of games because i don't have time but i found my self playing the bullshit cap stack and pass after getting teamed in both games. Second game i was able to have the 2 strong players face off because the teamers got pummeled and it allowed me to get second. Not great but it was better than 5th...
could you please show the chat on the screen so we can see what people write. provides so much more entertainment on long matches
Purple is in Portugal... so... lets check east Africa, hmm where is he?! 😂
There’s a difference between a flawed model of reality and “delusion.”
explain
Pete of all of the risk youtubers you are the best (not only for how you play ) primarely becous of the personality that makes you video very different from the other you tubers .
Would you consider time stamping meaningful moments in longer vids? I.e. “the noose tightens” when card block on original cap is immanent. Or “vulture” when cleaning up black after their bloody kill” that sort.
It would benefit expanding your vocabulary, even into other languages in order to express the shapeless or formless ideas you have in your mind to share it with others, would you agree Pete?
Sure. Assuming those I'm speaking to also have that vocabulary.
One of my big concerns is that I already speak in an overly complex way so I tend to try to simplify concepts but maybe my intuition is wrong here
The last time I purposely quit a game my sister called to discuss christmas presents for the kids. 3 sisters and we all have to organize who gets what for whos kids.
Bruh who is complaining that your EUA games take too long? a game lasting 1,5 hours in this map with caps is not bad at all. I think people got used to those more extreme games where you snowball and sweep the whole board in half an hour and internalise that that's the norm
I play 90s turn timer and my average game is around 1hr 20 mins, so I’d imagine this counts as a long game!
Algorithm boost 🔥
Hey Pete I'm curious on the gambler trap/fallacy you talk about (basically the concep that if you loss ten times the next one will be a win.) But when thinking about it with coins I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Since a coin will always be 50/50 your decision shouldn't matter right. But what if you ran the odds of a coin getting heads 50 times in a row the chances of that happening are like one in a quadrillion I believe, meaning if you knew the coin had hit heads 49 times in a row, logically you'd want to pick tails since the probability of it hitting heads again would feel lower since getting heads over and over again is less and less likely to happen each roll in row you'd feel more and morw compelled to bet tails even though yes the odds are still 50 50. This is where I'm confused is it truly 50 50 or not lol.
The odds of flipping a (fair) coin and it being heads 49 times in a row are 1 in 5.6 x 10^14. Super low odds. The odds of doing it 50 times in a row are exactly 50% lower than doing it 49 times in a row. 50 times in a row the odds are 1 in 1.1 x 10^15. So the odds given you have hit heads 49 times in a row are still 50/50 for heads or tails.
Now in reality, if you hit heads 49 times in a row, its very likely you don't have a fair coin (it may be weighted to land heads more often than 50/50) and my bet would be on heads coming up again. After all you just hit heads 49 times in a row, why would that suddenly change on the 50th flip?
@@zackcinq-mars2129 hey thanks for your insight I have much to learn on the subject, so excuse me if what I say sounds dumb lol. Yes the coin would be fair in my hypothetical haha even if it's an unlikely hypothetical. I get what your saying, I just get confused on the part that we can't really use the past tosses to help you guess the new one. So if we ran a 100 or 1000 tosses you'd expect a equallibrium over time so the range expected would probably be around 40 to 60 For the 100 toss and probably a tighter range the more tosses you did, Meaning if you'd already gotten 65 heads and 15 tails until you get closer to that 50/50 I would expect you betting on tails to be the right choice Meaning different odd then the 50/50?. Probably wrong though.
All this to say bring back that gamblers have the same problem right, they lose 10 times in a row and go "it's impossible to lose again I'm owed luck" or "the odds are stacked in my favor", all stuff that can destroy your life lol. I'm glad I don't gamble because my logic seems flawed lol
@@evanchrist You are correct to say that we would expect an equilibrium over time.
The more you flip the coin the more chances you have to even out the score. And since we know the chances of heads and tails are the same we know over time it will even out.
This may help you understand intuitively; If I flip 10 heads after 100 flips, I still expect the next 100 flips to be equally heads and tails. At this point, 100 flips in, I would now predict to see 60 heads and 140 tails total because in the second set of 100 I expect to get 50 heads and 50 tails.
In your example if I have flipped 80 times and see a split of 65 to 15, my new prediction is not that I will end with 50 heads and 50 tails. My new prediction given this information is that we will see 75 heads and 25 tails.
The first 100 had a super low probability of happening. but getting a split of 60 and 140 is much more likely. It is getting closer to the expected value of 50/50. Not because we expect a higher percentage of heads than tails moving forward but because the number of flips increases. 10/100=10% but 60/200=30%
in the other example 65/80= 81% heads
whereas 75/100 = 75% heads
It trends towards the expected 50% split much slower than the gambler's fallacy would believe.
@@zackcinq-mars2129 hey thx for explaining that to me and not trolling me, very well explained on your part ,actually makes quite a bit of sense now.
Have a nice day my dude
