I'm not sure if you get to it, since I haven't finished the video yet, but I believe the way you fix the high rent is to zone more residential (refer to your high residential demand)

just a tip on your electricity the power line used to export power only uses 400 watts per line so you can export more electricity by getting more power lines to go out of the city
400 watts? so if I export 5000 wats and have 6 HV poles and 5 wires then I will only export 3000 watts? right?

What do you mean? High voltage lines (regardless of underground or overground) have 400w capacity and low voltage lines only 80w.
However on the info-tab it should state correctly the amount you are exporting. To export 3200w you need 8 and for 5200w you need 13 high voltage connections, if you have no low voltage ones.@@Kople101366

for me on twin mountains it was limited to 800MW. 400 to the original power line and 400 to another. doesnt matter where you put it. a 3rd or 4th one doesnt do anything, and deleting the original power line = 400MW max.

The pedestrian path merges with the roundabout. Cars are not supposed to occupy an intersection or block a throughway until the intersection is clear. When cars enter the roundabout, cars seem to stop at an invisible stop sign where the road and the pedestrian path curb ends.
Keralis sending his save over to Biffa to fix would be a treat. For the reaction alone. :D

One thing I noticed is that when you place down residential zoning, your traffic will go nuts as new people move in. Once they settle into their new place, the traffic isn't so bad. Moral of the story: Sometimes you just need to be patient and wait to see if the traffic issue works itself out. If not, then worry about fixing it.

You could move the dam downriver, maybe somewhere around the highway bridge, so that the awkward shallow area between the city and industrial area floods, then put the harbor in that now-flooded shallow section right off of the industrial area. I think it would look a lot better and tie the landscape around that area together a bit more.
Might be too late now, but you do have the save from before the dam was built.
I thought he would do exactly that and was so disappointed when he put the dam down to the place where it currently is. I think the map was made for a dam further downstreams.
traffic jam at 1:00 is caused by a rule that cars are not allowed to stay on intersections, as it was in CS1. that node is huge, so you can connect pedestrian road at an angle close to 90° to reduce the intersection area or just remove that pedestrian connection and change it to just paths.
This is one of the most calming and de-stressing series I’ve watched in a while. If I’m anxious or stressed I just lip on some keralis videos and I usually feel much better afterwards.
The sport court under the freeway is one of the weirder things I've seen in a while. I like it. Nice to see that dam project come together, too!

I realized while watching Keralis that he doesnt care much about demand. I was trying to play and I kept struggling with demand and eventually made basically my entire map into low residential. good on you and thx for helping

Transfer rate of high voltage lines are limited to 400MW. So are connection nodes on power plants and outside connections. If you connect just one side on hydro power, you will get only 400MW out. This also means anything above 800MW is automatically wasted, you can't extract more. Only workaround atm is to build multiple parallel dams each less than 800MW. Extra connection node upgrade would be nice but that's down to CO.

I like how you added a median to that one street and made it into a proper boulevard. I also like the pedestrian paths, pedestrian-only streets, mid-block crosswalks, and the boardwalk. Much better and more pedestrian friendly, environmentally friendly, and more Swedish style.
Watching keralis refer to moose as mountain goats is very entertaining.

The largest Hydropower Dam, Three Gorges Dam in China generates around 22500 MW.
That is around 2.8 times difference between them!

I know there are still a lot of bugs with the hydroelectric dams in CS2 (which I've sadly experienced), but I'm so happy it's working for you! Now you won't have to worry about funds.

High voltage power lines have a max capacity of 400mw. You need to create another high power line circuit to off map to sell the extra surplus.
I believe the love heart happens when it is Valentines Day in the game. You can see this in the Event Journal, which is the icon at the bottom right of the screen.

So the reason why they are stopping at 1:00 is because from where there stopping at to the roundabout is a intersection maybe try to create a straight piece then have it curve how you want it.

This series has single handedly brought me back to when I was 13 and watched let’s plays live… as they came out.. that’s a psycho thing to do. I am more hyped about the next parts of this nonsense series than the Loki series. I actively chose this over a big budget, currently new Marvel Series.

13:00 Hearts are apparently an Easter egg type event - during February in game the commercial buildings have a Valentines event, heart happens when someone attends it (Unconfirmed, but reported by multiple people to always happen February so that is strongest theory)

I just wanted to stop by and say I am loving your playthrough of Cities Skylines. I originally found you because of the current season of HermitCraft, but stayed for all of your other content. Been watching your old content, and keeping up with the current.

1:20 I've noticed this as well with turning on roads. The "no directional turn" either direction doesn't seem to be working correctly if at all. Even when making a highway off-ramp with no left-hand turns, vehicles still CONSTANTLY turn left at it. It drives me nuts.
You should create a low rent housing other side of river
And a row housing at the old industrial area and name it something industry related
smaller houses should be near the urban centre, gotta remember that you need more people in those areas too, you have the public transport for it as well. Bigger houses make more sense further from town, as richer people can also afford the commute.

Perhaps put the harbor upstream of the dam at the big lake you created. It doesn't make much sense putting a touristy harbor next to the industrial district when it can be put in the middle of the city.
@Keralis try using the mixed use commercial in the areas with lots complaining about high rent. Maybe even embrace the homelessness and put basketball courts under your overpasses in certain areas to give it that authentic feel when the homeless invade them.
As for the highway near the damn, I would try something fresh like having the highway go into a tunnel, pop out in front of the dam but slightly lower than the top of it, and then go back into a tunnel on the other side. Then use the bridge that has the truss under it instead of the default one. Doing the highway this way will allow you to create an overlook at the top.
Last thing, since you have the roads as the quays at the bottom of the damn already, why not try to add a relay station on both sides? You could really get it looking similar to Hoover dam in the US.
Keralis the big powerlines only allow for 400mw to be transfered, if you add multiple lines then you can export even more electricity!!
make a couple of extra outside connections for your power. each line maxes out at 400MW, this is why your electric exports are so low.

The High voltage lines only carry 400kw so you need to make more outside connections to make more money
The homeless shelters go away if you place down a Parks Department office
You can place down say a small commercial area and then lower the taxes on a certain type of business making it so you have a higher chance of certain shapes of buildings will built.
Make more High Power connections to the outside to sell more of the excess electricity and make much more Income. Each high power connection can deliver only 400 MW , so you need three more connections to sell all the excess you have.
Also, Drop the Electricity fees to Zero, and Drop the Water fees to Zero (So free electricity and water), and see how your Industry and Offices become 40% more efficient and thus make you MUCH MORE Income from Taxes, You'll make SO MUCH MONEY that you can Remove all taxes on People and still Make Millions a Month. Without Taxes on People there will be no Homeless people Anywhere in your city.

Hey Keralis, Yesterday there was a live stream from cities skylines with Maddie. She explained that the homeless people don't have money. To fix it as Maddie said: you will need to make sure your unemployed percentage is going down. Low entry jobs and build more low rent housing would solve the homeless in your parks. Hope the tip will help you!
i’m honestly in love with this series
0:59 the reason all cars stop there is because the two intersections are too close together. Cars have to check if there is space on tthe section between the two intersections before crossing the first one. That problem persists with pedestrian roads as well. The only way to solve it is so have the intersections with more space inbetween.

whoever started the idea that c:S2 doesn't have NODES did a huge mistake. it very obviously does still. and the random traffic stopping and weird lane switching displays it perfectly.
Keralis That is a no U-turn Sign If you don't want people to turn left then you have to put a no Left turns Sign
One channel zoned the low density into smaller lots and it really helped. The larger lots seem to cause the low rent issues.
Keralis, you definetely would want to make commertial district called "Stop, Pause, Collaborate, and Shop"

Now that you know that all ploppable places have trees that grow up and that they look better once the trees are grown, you could maybe start to add some parks in (the green / tree filled type) (so far you've avoided them because you thought they looked bad but you said the same thing with the cemetary and it turned out to just be that the trees were still small)
Those hearts are there because it's Valentine's Day in the game.
Maybe the parks need park maintinence buildings to remove the homeless poeple living there
In this map I have 3 small dams on the river and 1 on the mountains. Total over 2000 MW almost all exported, they practically allow no taxes from citizens.
