0:00 Intro
0:05 This is a common problem to see on Honda CR-Vs. Some years of CR-Vs have been recalled for this concern but it was only a small batch of them that was illegible for the recall. You could get this fixed by a metal fabricator/welder, but it would be a fairly expensive repair.
0:20 The customer tightened the oil filter with pliers which punctured a little hole in the oil filter. You should always hand-tighten oil filters and that's it. No tools are necessary.
0:30 4L80E Transmission. The cooler lines circulate the transmission fluid through a cooler to cool down the fluid. If the transmission fluid does not get circulated in this instance it will cause the fluid to get too hot, burning the clutches and other components inside. The technician said the fluid was completely burnt and needed to be overhauled. The customer got the cooler lines fixed and the transmission rebuilt.
0:44 GMC Sierra 1500 with a lift kit. Where the ball joint sits in the spindle was wallowed out. Instead of replacing the spindles and ball joints the customer just installed new ball joints, left the ball joint nuts loose, and forgot the cotter pins.
1:13 The D-rings that are welded on this aftermarket rear bumper, were clinking when the customer was backing up.
1:20 It was another shop that installed this breathalyzer. Since they drilled through the brake booster, they had no vacuum assist for the brake system. Can also cause your vehicle to run roughly as it's a vacuum leak.
1:31 "Towed in for check engine light and misfire. Tech found issues with the fuel pump. When accessing the fuel pump tech found all these rocks. The customer didn't say anything about the rocks."
1:41 The technician is not sure why they were no air filter and the air filter box was glued down. He thinks maybe the customer did it, as the vehicle was fairly new.
1:51 Copper washers for banjo bolt incorrectly installed. One needs to be under the head of the bolt, and the other under the brake line, not double stacked. That caused the brake fluid leak and no brake pedal. The brake rotors should have been replaced also. Especially since they just installed new brake pads.
2:09 The customer had the screen turned off. The technician turned it back on.
2:23 The technician said he's not sure how this happened as he's never seen a p/s line do this. However, he said the customer installed a cheap knock-off high-pressure p/s line he found online.
2:33 Hopefully they don't run over anything that causes all of these wires to rip off.
2:50 A vehicle like this generally has no more than 35 psi in the tires. The technician said 1 tire was leaking and that's why it most likely did not have 145 PSI in it as well.
2:58 "The coolant reservoir had a huge bubble on it. I think the hood was keeping it from blowing up. Once I saw that I backed up just in time."
3:08 This clip was shared with us by somebody who saw this at a truck stop. They aren't sure how long they were driving like this.

"If it fits- it ships" ....fantastic 👍

Yep! Doesn’t matter how far you’re going, a sudden need to stop is a sudden need to stop.
So I've beaten both odds. Never near home. Always something well on the road. By other drivers.
That statistic may be true, but it's kind of stupid if you think about it. Of course you're most likely to get into an accident near home, since that's where you're coming from or going to most of the time...
Someday soon the commute is going to be 5 miles + 25 memorable feet.
@@theitsguy I think you read my mind. I have always thought that way. And most time when you are close to home, you never think anything will happen. You let your guard down.

I've learned that brake pads are optional and I can save money just by having the brake pistons do the work. That's at least $40 in savings. 🤣
@@truthandreality4650 those poor poor rotors😂
Man brakes are so easy too do especially if you have disc brakes it’s even more easy. There are rules you gotta follow but it shouldn’t take you more then 2 hours too do all 4 wheels. I just love those wiring jobs with 22ga wire run over the exhaust system, the driveshaft, etc. and the wonderful "electrician" customers wondering why they don't work.
The customer was told to wire it correctly themselves and the customer still declined to fix their own mess. 😂🤣😂🤣
I used 2 25ft 12ga extension cords. It was cheaper that spools of 12ga and you don’t even see it tucked up in the frame rail because it’s black. In my defense all the connections were soldered and heat shrinked
@@leadpilled5567 That's actually pretty alright. Those cords are durable, one thing to note is that they're not always oil resistant, and the inner cores are definitely not. This can be important under the hood.
There are so fricking many of these jobs out there. Wire nuts for days!
@@SugmaDLigmaNutz I was just about to snark on that!
The first one happened to me a year ago. My then 17 1/2 year old Ford Taurus was "acting oddly," and I took it to a local mechanic for a wheel alignment. He called me less than ten minutes later and said the car plain and simply could no longer be driven safely as the ENTIRE frame had rusted beyond salvageability. I got the car back, took it to my regular mechanic (he'd been out of town at the time the car was taken in for the alignment); he also owned a scrap yard at the time, so he bought the car from me, and I bought a very nice little Chevy Cobalt from him.
It was rather frightening to find out what could have happened to me had the car fallen apart---as I had to drive our freeway at least once a week, 70 to 80 mph for a round-trip distance of 70 miles.
I had a power steering line do that once. The whole engine was covered in power steering fluid, but I couldn't find the leak until I got someone to turn the wheel while I was under the hood. Thing immediately sprayed fluid up my nose lol
At least it wasn't a rubber hose,Mr. Kotter!
I love the squirting oil filter and power steering hose.😂
That power steering hose had like a billion holes in it lol
It was made out of Swiss cheese.
Like some of those frames.... 😂
Power steering hose reminded me of the old "Ha! You missed!" "Did I?"
what the hell did he use for that hose!? aquarium tube!?
@@ryans413 I've seen garden watering trickle hoses with less coverage than that power steering line.
Had a lady come into the shop desperately begging for help. She had taken her husband's prized Corvette out and hadn't taken the hand brake off. Rear brakes were smoking like she just rolled into the pits at the Daytona 500. We must have sourced the parts from every GM dealer around but we got her out. Hope she got home before her husband and he never noticed the odometer.
My sister, 4' nothing, rested her left foot on either the clutch or brake for years until I caught her. I built a raised platform to the left of both...her repairs bills dropped dramatically. My Avalon has the same platform from the factory.

So the D ring is not only a tie down point, but also a back up alarm. GENIUS!!!
You can get silencers for d-rings and shackles, or just get some hose, cut a piece long enough to go around most of the ring, split the hose length-wise, and install it around the ring, split side out. If it doesn't seem to stay on, use some spray adhesive to hold it.
@@fredk.2001 Better than spray adhesive use some "battery pole grease" or similar neutral vaseline-type grease, it will stick it just as well down, but will wipe off if needed and meanwhile will prevent rust under the rubber hose
@@MarekLewandowski_EE, if you are planning to remove it, use silicone "high vacuum" grease, it is VERY sticky, wipes off, and won't eat rubber hoses like vaseline will.
its a jeep thing!! LOL
That last one hits home, I had a SuperDuty towed just like that. Despite the tow driver saying numerous things like, “I snapped 3 winch cables getting it up on there” I couldn’t find any damage at all. I absolutely *could not* be a mechanic if this is the kind of insanity they encounter. I would literally be on a "Patient States' video at the nearby hospital where mine would be, 'Patient states he blew a gasket in his brain after seeing the dumb s**t people do with their cars, then simply continue driving until the car literally falls apart on the road.
Speaking of which, here's a little story from when I was young. I was walking home when a car driving up a nearby hill literally ripped in half. The back end just sort of fell off (looked like just behind the front seat) and spun wildly before hitting the curb, while the driver kept going for a while then slid to a stop, as if not quite sure what had happened. He then got out, stared at his rusted in half wreck... and just walked away, leaving it in the road.
Yep... I am a retired mechanic so I have seen a lot lol
Your story reminds me of this video where they intentionally drive only the front half of a car czcams.com/video/rfkMTg4Bh0k/video.html

2:38 The shop suggested the customer do it properly, but the customer declined. That's a good summary for this channel.
Power steering hose looked like something out of a Looney Tunes cartoon after Yosemite Sam blasted it.
145 psi surprised they didn't blow..most don't remember but when radial tires 1st came out people would think they were almost flat so added air until they looked like bias ply tires.. many ran around with 80+ psi in them and wondered why the center wore out so fast
Forty some years ago I worked in a muffler shop. One day the scrap guy ask one of the other guys to put air in his tires because they're almost flat. It pegged out his 120lb gauge. The guy must have had three tons of steel in that truck. They may have been bias plies.
@@garyszewc3339 You don't have a problem if they're only flat at the bottom......
I was adding 5 lbs pressure to my tires at a service station on the first cold week. A elderly lady noticed I had a gage and was there to fill her tires up.
Two had 80lbs, one had 70, one over 120. I held the airhose as if I was adding, but let mist of that air out.
Our Ford dealer will check and fill women's tires at no cost. I told her about than and she should go there in future when she was concerned her tires were low. She said that sounded nice.
I didn't have to embarrass her or offend her, and I counted that as a very good day.
I would have made a show of looking at the recommended PSI in the door jamb and then saying that her tires should match. Helps her learn something without making her feel too dumb.
It's not just women...I've seen a lot of guys who use the "fill by ear" method, imitating truckers who do the tire thump thing.

You have the best auto electricians I have ever seen. The wiring is so neat and tidy.
As always these are the best auto mechanic videos on the web. I can't believe how ridiculous customers are in allowing their vehicles to get so bad.
These videos are incredible, thanks guys for sharing. 👍👍👍👍👍
I think you mean the WORST mechanic videos, although they are the most entertaining.
I agree. I never let my car get that bad. I once had to borrow close to 4K from a good friend to get my transmission rebuilt. I always made putting his money aside every paycheck a priority. I had to do some juggling with my other bills and there were a lot of days when i had air pies for lunch. 😂 It took a year and a half but i repaid every last dime with zero interest, I offered, but he said no. Good friend indeed.
2:10. So that's what that button does.
But then it's nowhere near the screen.
On a related note, my GM frequently refuses to admit it's daytime, so to get the screen bright enough to see I have to turn off the headlights, which also turns off the daytime running lights. As Maxwell Smart used to say, "Missed it by that much."
Why on earth would they program the switch that way? Seems patently obvious to me that it should be headlights on - running lights off, tying them together is asinine. I'm not even sure it's possible but maybe they just miswired something slightly on yours? (I'm giving them way too much credit aren't I)
If the first customer actually went by what they said about scrapping it then props to them for listening to advice and not saying "its fine" or "ill have someone else do it"
"If it fits, it ships."
Cats: HAHAHA! That's a good one!
I've been on the hesitant side of doing anything on my 2019 VW golf (First car in my name, used to drive 1999 Mercedes CLK). But after seeing videos on this channel for half a year i've gained the confidence i can't be that bad at changing parts myself. 😂
Just find someone with automotive experience to give advice and clarify things when you have questions. Oh and look up the torque specs beforehand and make sure you have a torque wrench. Even a cheap one is better than nothing.
I watch these videos with a look of total disbelief every time.
I usually give out a couple of gasps on each video. I don't mean to, it just happens.
"If it fits, it ships", gold
This is why you treat a good mechanic like gold.
These videos are both hilarious and terrifying! Just imagine I've been driving my entire life, and these people are all around us on the road, and if you're not a mechanic or have never watched these types of videos you'd have never even known. 🙃 shit!
I agree with you dude.
It's scary to think some of these people were just casually driving death traps and still decline work when they're shown whats unsafe. 🤦♂️
It's like with every type of field. You don't want to know what is going on. It's like how people working in airplane manufacturing never take a flight anywhere. Or when my veterinary cousin started working in a slaughterhouse. They're ever since vegetarian.
I was a shop mechanic in the early 2000's and never saw anything like the conditions commonly shown here. It seems the advent of the internet has actually made people more ignorant, plus the totally corroded away frames is new, they obviously use inferior steel now.
Well said, well said.
This never gets old! Im a mechaniic by trade, and I am constantly surprised by customer vehicles, and not in a good way!
That first one is gold. the customer states they will take it to a scrap yard. A good chance you will see it again next episode held together with tape. Customer states, "just bought it with same complaint as the last owner had but I was unaware at the time"
Rocks in the car, that brings back memories. Once I needed to fill a fairly small pothole that had developed in my dirt driveway. I figured that about a bucket's worth of gravel would do the job. Problem was, I didn't have a bucket, so I told the rock yard to just put the gravel loose into the hatchback.
I got most of the gravel out when I did the pothole repair, but there were still random rocks showing up in the cargo area when I sold the car.
I don't know what's worse if you were in close range of one of these. The 5 min commute death trap or the 145 psi tire.🤔
Frankly when people decline, I feel it should be mandatory to notify the local authorities that the driver is driving a deathtrap and endangering others.
1:37 Could that be a bag of kitty litter burst on the drive home from the pet supplies store?
that truck hanging off the trailer was the craziest thing I have ever saw....love the videos!!!
I'd be really interested to know how long they drove the vehicle from the beginning of the video around like that. I wonder this because of my own experience with my wife and one of her cars in the past. She always cranks the radio up so noises are hidden. She once told me she *thinks* something is wrong with her brakes. There was. Rear passenger side had a stuck caliper that only pushed out and never retracted. It was worn down almost all the way to the fins. Note that at that time I never drove her car. We still laugh about it because what else can you do. She likes her stereo loud to this day. We've actually been married 33 years this year.
Love these videos. Be safe out there, and take it easy man.

@@GewelReal Heh. Depends on what I'm trying to say to her. Certain things are heard *way* better than others. Oddly it also seems to affect her memory too.

@@tsm688 in theory, over time, but not over a couple days, and not with cotter pins or locking nuts.
@@johngaltline9933 People massively underestimate the torque required on bolts, usually they will go finger tight plus turn the wrench until they feel the slightest bit of resistance.
I needed my morning laugh, people will do anything to get by.
Excellent again dude 👌
Power steering pipe had me laughing 😂😂 👍
That's a first for me lol. Have a great weekend 👍
@@JustRolledIn enjoy your weekend too my friend 👍
@@JustRolledIn looks like it has the proper high pressure fittings on it but im guessing it was made with normal low pressure hyd hose not high pressure hose. You can see it swell before leaking, high pressure has a hose inside and steal weave sheath wound over. EBay maybe?
Customer: Hey, my wires don't work.
Shop: You should rewire them.
Customer: I REFUSE!
Whaaaaaaat??
c'mon man, they worked for like 2 minutes!
A couple zip ties on the 2006 Honda and they're good to go
Looks like they already used some 😅
Nah, JB weld that 💩
"The customer said they will be bringing the vehicle to a scrap yard"
Rare Just Rolled In good ending where the customer doesn't decline repairs on an incredibly dangerous car
My Friday laugh - the power steering hose was the best!
145 PSI?!?!?!?!
Yep. It's a channel record lol
Just Rolled In, you know what they say, "Records are made to be broken"!
In gas appliances a licensed gas person can "RED TAG" an appliance and disconnect the gas - for example a gas house furnace. Would be great if automobile mechanics can do the same.
No.
In states where still safety inspections, the mechanic is doing one on a vehicle, they can put a red sticker on the windshield with a report to the DMV and driver that the vehicle must be fixed within x number of days, taken off the road or the registration will be suspended.
As usual you have the best videos out of all the channels. 👍 👍
Its kinda scary how many people there are out there who have no clue, but think they can replace parts on their cars with zero knowledge of how they are actually supposed to work.
It was the worst set of rotors I have ever seen. The customer told me he will be fine driving to work. Also, his inner and outer tie rods are about to fall off. He was not concerned at all and also drives children. 🤬
Thank you for sharing those photos. Damn scary they are driving that
@@JustRolledIn RIGHT!!! I've been a Service Advisor for 32 years and I simply just shake my head at the stupidity sometimes. 🙃
@@4MyFurs I could only imagine what you've seen! Thanks again for sharing the photos.
Ppl who are fortunate enough to own fancy new cars! READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL! You might be surprised what you learn about your pricy investment!
Cars and jewelry are not an investment.
@@505fastlife6 tell that too someone paying out the nose ever month to look kewl! To them it's an investment!!
Ngl wish this videos where longer, I’m always at peace when watching
I wish I had more content to make them longer or more videos. Unfortunately it's hard to even make them 3 minutes sometimes and try to keep the quality high.
@@JustRolledIn Your content is amazing - and while sure the mechanics sending you stuff are stars in their own right, your editing and commentary are on point. Personally I wouldn't mind if the videos were slightly longer and slightly less frequent but I get that it's a difficult balance and you've clearly found something that's working great at the moment!
@@JustRolledIn or low as the case may be.
