Thank you so much, Edward- your method fixed my PC. I looked in your 'more' section under the video, copied the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics you give us, and pasted it into my address bar when opening Registry Editor.
From there, just as you show us, it was easy to change the icon spacing values. I restarted and Voila! All 'lost' icons, desktop, photos, etc are restored.
Another video talked about how one needs to get the lost items restored within 10 days of the Windows 10 Update which deleted them, or lose them. Anyway, my update was yesterday and I found you today and FIXED IT. You gained a subscriber. Thank you, Edward! HERO!
If this doesn't work for you try this.
Right click on an empty space on your desktop. Click on the "View" option then click "Show desktop icons" hope this help :]

It works for those who not get? It works only when your window is updated to window 10 and this cause disappearing of desktop icons file folder document or anything that was in window . It's really work for me also so thanks 🙏

Opposite for me. When i remove a folder from my desktop to the recycle bin, sometimes it just appears back, filling my desktop again. What's happening and how do i fix it?

Oh my such armatures going in to the registry to fix such an easy issue. Follow the instructions below without having to fuck around with your registry which I do not recommend! #1 -Right click anywhere on your desktop background color. #2 -click view. #3 click on " Show desktop icons". Its that simple, and you're welcome. Remember kids, don't mess around with your registry!

It won't even let me do anything except press ctrl, alt, delete for the task bar option. And then I can't even do anything there. When I click the mouse on the desktop screen, it just flashes white and goes back to the empty desktop screen. Plus, when logging in, it takes a while after I turn it on.
