  • Trump's latest economic plan would be "a wrecking ball to the economy." It's a massive tax cut for the rich, paid for by sticking you with a giant sales tax. I talked with Lawrence on MSNBC about what this would mean.

      We dont Have to tarriff just imports, we SHOULD tarriff our exports, to a competitively fair world market price.

A second reason for low petrol prices. There is cause and affect for each action. Trump’s policies ( wealthy tax cuts ) caused the highest debt in history. Almost 2x what we have incurred under the Biden Administration. Yet we still have the most successful recovery of all nations. Petrol is higher, but still lower than 3 yrs ago. Groceries are more expensive , but because of corporate gouging. Unemployment is at historic lows. The higher interest rate hasn’t been as big a problem because home owners locked in very low mortgage rates during pandemic, thereby avoiding a recession. Stocks repeatedly climb to record highs. I have done well with both AMD and Nvidia investments. Trump did destroy the economy , it just didn’t show until after he was voted out of office. Fortunately we put more stable people into office that managed it back to health. We can all agree that US border policy is a shambles, but it has been for the last 5 administrations ( Rep AND Dem ). Crossings are down, problems have decreased, but still have a ways to go. Trump has not put forth any type of ideas and does nothing other than to criticize agencies that he felt slighted by, insult groups that don’t praise or support him, and promise to prosecute out of retaliation. All actions of an authoritarian mindset. He is not just a danger to democracy domestically, but to democratic ideals around the world.

    • @theodorehaskins3756
      @theodorehaskins3756 Před 2 dny

      @@Silver-jv1us So the only person that has a selective memory is you, and so you don’t get to pick, and choose at what time you choose to measure the economy, so you can spin it in your favor or in this case, spin it to support your narrative, which is to make Trump look good at all costs.
      So Trump inherited a good economy, because President Obama and VP Joe Biden clean up George W Bush and Dick Cheney’s mess, and in came Trump, and it got a little bit better under him, and then COVID-19 struck, and Donald Trump showed the world, just how bad he is at crisis management, and he made the situation a lot worse.
      So truth be known, the economy was doing just fine under President Obama Biden, but Trump took a good economy and trashed it, because of his mismanagement and other misdeeds to numerous to get into, in this one post, not to mention the 3 Supreme Court justices that moved the court so far right that Chief Justice John Roberts has been rendered to the courts Jester, as Clarence, Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy I won’t tell you the truth Coney Barrett, has taken a wrecking Ball to the court, sending its public approval rating into the basement, with single digit ratings by overturning precedence, something no previous court has ever done before.
      So your wishful thinking, is just that, wishful thinking, that somehow you can spend this to Trump‘s favor, but Trump himself, is a wrecking ball, and if he gets back into the White House for a 2nd term, what would he have to lose? Not only that, he would have proven that this notion of no one being above the law, would absolutely go out the window, and so what would the Constitution mean to anybody? The answer of course is it would absolutely mean nothing. It would be nothing more than an historical document, a worthless piece of paper that Trump would have pissed all over it.
      So maybe you don’t understand the dire implications of a 2nd Trump administration, but I git news for you, you may think that Trump is doing you’re bidding, but Trump is so out of control, that he’s so stupid, that he doesn’t know just how stupid he is, but he’s betting that you’re stupider than him, as he said, I can do anything, and get away with it. I can stand in the middle of fifth Avenue and shoot someone and my supporters are so dumb that they wouldn’t hold me accountable, however, there’s just one problem, it’s people like me that he can’t fool, and it’s people like me, that will make damn sure that he’s held accountable, and you can take that to the bank, but what I fine to be ironic, is they are Republicans who are scared to death of a 2nd Trump administration, but that they’re relying on people like me to do what they are in capable of doing, because of their fear of Trump, and that is to put the final nail in his political coffin, and I for one will happily grant them their wish by voting blue up and down the ballot on election day because I recognize the value of my vote, and I also recognize the danger of the giant orange douche who thinks that he is the chosen one even having the temerity to compare himself to Jesus Christ Almighty himself, and I find that to be not only just tasteful and stupid and dishonest and factually false, he’s anything but a compassionate man, a religious man or a caring man, quite the contrary, he’s a convicted felon, a criminal, a moron, a racist, a thief, and cheat, and he will never be anything more than that, because that’s all he aspires to be. Hoover, Reagan and Trump all tried improving the economy by reducing taxes and deregulation. The result was similar each time. Companies used the money for stock buy back and mergers. They did very little to no investment to improve productivity. They didn't pass tax savings on to workers in pay rises or bonuses. Lack of regulation didn't promote innovation. (Stock prices were helped some by this during all three era. But obviously it didn't help enough to matter during the Hoover era.)
    Trump said that he was surprised trickle down economics did not working. Either he is a bad business man and didn't learn from the Reagan era. Or he knew what to expect and was looking forward to those results. Either way, is that the type of President we want.

    In 1996 Steve Forbes was a republican primary candidate. He promoted the ideas of a flat income tax rate and no taxes on saving and investment income. The flat rate tax was appealing to many because it sounded like it would simplify income taxes. The no taxes on saving and investment sounded appealing to many because it would award people for saving and investing.
    Those people failed to understand that the flat tax rate would reduce taxes on the highest earners but not them. They also failed to understand that the rick primarily live off of income from their investment. Those people didn't understand that Steve Forbes would benefit far more than any of them from his proposal. They didn't understand that they would have actually been the losers.
    It is this same type of thinking, a failure to pay attention, lack of historic knowledge, and Trump's charisma that attract Trump votes. (Personally I don't find him charismatic. But it is obvious that others do.)
    I am just saying that we have been here before. Luckily Steve Forbes didn't have Trump's charisma. (Or a radical social agenda.)

    • @fowlerja
      @fowlerja Před 2 dny

      Here is an example of incompetence.
      This is one of Joe's experienced, astute, kind , and caring policies. His "Open Border".
      Joe allowed the “illegal” crossing of the “open border” by 8-10 million “illegal migrants' ' , criminals, terrorists, drug smugglers, and gotaways, etc. This will affect all 50 states; their state safety net, housing, flooding of hospitals and educational systems, criminal systems, drug issues, and employment.
      With little to no border security over 3 years, huge amounts of the narcotic drug fentanyl has crossed the “open border”. The Mexican Cartel has raked in billions of dollars, destabilizing the economic and social structure of Mexico.
      Yearly, 75,000 deaths of young Americans (ages 15-44) occur throughout 50 states. Those who survive are damaged for life, overwhelming medical and social service programs. Their life expectancy is 47.5 years. Expect 300,000 families to bury their children during Joe's four years.
      A tragedy of this magnitude not only affects the family and relatives, but the nation as a whole. This national tragedy is having a devastating immediate and lasting impact on the nation's economy, social structures, public health systems, and overall demographic trends.
      Sadly this event has not been on Joe Biden’s radar or agenda for improving our nation. Joe likes to speak about democracy. There is no democracy for a young dead person.
      “Please pay attention to what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris do or don’t do for America. Their actions will tell you everything you need to know.” Actions speak louder than their words. Is America better off than it was four years ago concerning the deadly narcotic fentanyl?
