"It's because he believes they'll stay on." Honestly the best explanation.
I love how Morpheus is jumping across buildings and doing amazing kung fu flips, and she keeps asking how his sunglasses manage to stay on. đ
"Thats a young Keanu" - you've not seen Bill and Ted's excellent adventure yet!
Thank you Dawn. You solved the mystery that has plagued us for all these years! Morpheusâs glasses stay on because he BELIEVES that they will!! đ¶
There are no glassesâŠ
Lol đ đ
There is no spoon!!.
I had a pair of these Oakleys.
@@micheletrainor1601 did you buy them because of Morpheus?
love how the scottish girl simulation/program in you came out"nooo!! don't dump the bug you could have sold that" lol
Hi Dawn! Morpheus' glasses are called pince-nez, french for "pinch the nose" which is how they stay on. They've been around since the 19th century so oddly they just seem futuristic.
For some famous examples Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt both wore them.
Just 'pinch nose', no 'the', else they'd be called 'pince le nez'. Hence, crab claws are called 'pincers'.
They were invented by Benjamin Franklin.
Thats Hugo Weaving playing the lead Agent. He's Australian and I have worked with him on a few different Australian features and miniseries. Back in my younger days I was in the industry. Dont know if you know it but the Matrix was filmed in Sydney Australia. There a several recognisable iconic Sydney streets used.
Also, Elrond.
Also, Red Skull.
I didn't know that cool đ
And V
Yes, Hugo Weaving is a well-known character actor who has appeared as Elrond in The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger, and V in V For Vendetta.
Hugo's niece Samara Weaving is also becoming a well-known actress in her own right, even acting with Keanu Reeves in the recent Bill & Ted movie.
Itâs nice to see someone finally reacting to this very obscure, niche bit of cinema. đ
Love your humor đ
lol
0okamino
LOL... You really made me laugh out loud :))) Thank you for that, especially in these days!
Yes, an obscure, niche filmâŠ. That grossed over $460M đđđ
i wasn't sure if it was a joke because I don't know what kids know about any more.
What you missed....
The Oracle (who is a computer program) gives Neo a "cookie"
(just like every webpage) and like nearly everyone Neo simply accepts itđ
Also, the Oracle says "maybe your waiting for a next life"
Sure enough, Neo only sees the Agents / Matrix in its coded form after he's been killedđ
No, she doesn't say "your waiting"... đ
@@happyslapsgiving5421 Oracle: "Sorry kid, you've got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something."
Neo: "What?"
Oracle: "Your next life maybe, who knows?"
I think Phil's contraction for the point of the comment is fine. đ

It's not, though.
You can quote the whole movie, it's still gonna be wrong. đ€Ł

@@happyslapsgiving5421 itâs called paraphrasing and itâs perfectly acceptable across the English-speaking world.
Agent Smith looked familiar because he was the Red Skull in, "Captain America", and he was the Elvish King, Elron in, "Lord Of The Rings."
What make this movie so cool is that it could actually be happening right now and you don't know it. Another movie that could be happening around you is the plot for John Carpenter's, "They Live." Check it out.âïžâ€ïžđč
NO it really cant be happening. The juvenilisation and willingness to believe science fantasies as real that people are being reduced to is what is really happening.
Now, try "Dark City" for a variation on the false world story.
(By the way, we're not ALL living in a simulation. Just you.)
Yes absolutely try Dark City. Well worth the watch
Underrated gem, and one of Bruce Spence's best appearances
I liked your intro; most reactors are always saying how they are "going into this movie totally blind", so it was refreshing to hear a different take on that! Very entertaining đ
But how did she know that was the perfect set-up for this mind-twisting movie? She must have had some secret behind the scenes of the world info!
"Have I seen him in something before because I recognise him"
Yes, his next most famous role was in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
I had never heard of this hidden le gem of a movie but I'm glad to watch this reaction! Seems like an interesting story that could easily span a trilogy and maybe even a movie based on short stories centered in this universe.
Hahaha! Are you the Oracle?
There is a trilogy. And the next two are just as brilliant.
"The Matrix" as a computer system was first introduced in 1976 in a little show that happens to be the longest running sci-fie series of all time, Doctor Who.
@@nielgregory108 A matrix is a grid of numbers signifying algebraic coefficients. It's how all computers work. So it has nothing to do with any particular fictional world.
Yeah, that DVD box is called the Ultimate Matrix collection. I have it. The three feature films plus a bunch of animated short stories.
If you continue on with the franchise, I recommend "NOT" skipping over the Animatrix, even if you just watch it on your own before jumping into the sequel. The movie is a collection of animated shorts, that really flushes out the world of the Matrix, providing tons of backstory and history, setting up the events of the sequel, explores numerous philosophical themes and tell a wide variety of stories. It's like a smorgasbord of animation, since they used different studios to create each chapter, each has it's on unique look, feel, animation style and technique, not to mention exploring a range of narrative styles and perspectives.
The Second Renaissance Part 1 & 2 are the real stand outs in the Animatix. I still wish that itâd be made into a feature length prequel, as thereâs so much scope in the backstory.
@@davidanderson1639 Absolutely, I'm actually surprised they haven't made, either a live action or animated series covering the creation of AI, the war and at least through the first iteration of the Matrix.
@@po5283 Iâd have gladly sat down & watched that over the fourth film!!! Can you imagine a live action version of the war against the machines??? đ€Żđ€Żđ€Ż
When i read your comment first. I thought you wrote - "don't skip over the Animaniacs." Lol đ đ i agree đ đŻ
@@jamesu1540 That is hilarious, LMAO!!! But now that you mention it, I wouldn't skip over the Animaniacs either, such a great show.
Agent Smith is the head elf from The Lord of the Rings. The sequels aren't on the same level as this movie but you'll see Zion and learn more of the story so they're worth it overall.
Before The Matrix, Keanu Reeves came out in his first cyberpunk film back in 1994 called Johnny Mnemonic. It's not as great as the Matrix, but it's not a bad film.
one could call Johnny Neo 0.5...
I dig Johnny Mnemonic. Totally cool ass film.
@@jamzales Yep, I enjoy the film.
I watched it just after reading Neuromancer. It's fun. Often good and often bad, it's still fun.
That's an actual hidden gem right there.
"Why do my eyes hurt?"
"You've never used them before."
This gave me such bigger chills than "Welcome to the real world".
The original concept was Humans were integrated into the Matrix in order to use their neurons for decision making & different maths abilities. As an example, they're like a graphics board.
In practice, Humans are terrible with energy. We need the most energy intensive fuel for very little result.
I believe that style of glasses that Morpheus wears is called pince-nez. The little bits that go up against the bridge of the nose work as a clamp and keep the glasses on, although I bet in practice they would come off easily.
17:10 đ€Łthe mystery of how Morpheus' sunglasses stay on - it's because he _believes_ they'll stay on
Another mind-blowing simulation-world movie that really is under most people's radar is "the 13th Floor" 1999 (Craig Bierko, Gretchen Mol, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Vincent D'Onofrio, Dennis Haysbert)
There are no reactions on youtube, just reviews.
Your opening bit about knowing all about this little-known movie, really set the tone for turning our heads around. To know how to do that, you must have some inside information from behind the scenes...
Now that you're watching LotR, you'll recognize Hugo Weaving (Also in "V for Vendetta, though we don't see his face")
As cheesy as the "loves first kiss" gimmick may seem, I always looked at it as him feeling that in the real world made him fully realize just how unreal the world in the Matrix was.
Also, the resurrected saviour is an ancient myth that can be found in various cultures. That being said, the "true love's kiss" is my least favourite part of the entire film.
@@calanor4130 it was pretty cheesy. I remember watching the first time, and said, "This movie is supposed to be revolutionary, and they go with the most cliche thing ever?"
@@calanor4130 indeed, even the oracle says to NEO "You have the gift but seems like you're waiting for something, maybe your next life?"
My favorite line in the movie, "Whoa!"
I'm not convinced we're living in a simulation, but... If you zoom in far enough on reality, you do find that at the most basic level everything is essentially quantized packets of information, which is kind of what you'd expect if this was a simulation.
You're not convinced we're living in a simulation but reality is what you'd expect if this was actually a simulation. Okay.
Thanks Dawn Marie, we're so glad you brought your Matrix expertise to the reaction! That was fun!đ
"There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path."
That quote always stuck with me.
Other "simulation world...thing" movies (from a similar time period) are:
'Dark City': came out the year before 'The Matrix'. Is very different in tone, and doesn't have nearly the same budget, but it's a really good movie. Kind of a mystery/detective story almost.
'The 13th Floor': came out just after 'The Matrix'. Not as good as the other two options, but it's not a bad flick.
Don't forget _eXistenZ_ from 1999 as well.
Glad you liked it!! The Matrix was society mind blowing at the time..most people had never come close to thinking about ideas like this. It was one of the main reasons simulation theory was popularized in the first place. People had mixed reactions to the second and third movies. They were a fun ride and explored some of my favorite ideas and philosophies developed throughout history...personally I loved them. Thanks for the vid!
Right. It had a huge effect on culture and ideation, and played a big role in the strengthening and popularity of conspiracy theories and civil mistrust.
Not even remotely true that no one had thought of this before. VR and simulated reality was a very hot topic in science fiction only a few years prior to this coming out. The surprising part was not the concepts in the movie, but that normally, movies and TV have been a lot more out of date (sometimes 20 to 50 years out of date) from what was hot in science fiction. This was only about 7 years after Neal Stephenson first wrote about a metaverse. Even the concept of someone being trapped in a virtual world was written about before (for example, James Hogan's Realtime Interrupt is a fun read about that very subject).
@Haldurson. Oh come on dude. They said "most" people. Not "no one." And their right. While VR and simulation theories were always popular in sci Fi and were growing more popular with the rise of computers....the vast majority of mainstream culture and normies were NOT thinking of these ideas until the Matrix came out and was a smash hit with audiences of all kinds. It propelled these ideas into the minds of you're grandma and nephew and neighbor down the street alike. These ideas were previously only really observed by sci Fi enthusiasts, computer programmers and scientists.
Based on what perceive your age to be, you probably embrace the idea that we're in a simulation *because* of this movie. It put those ideas into the broad public conscious, and you grew up on them.
You can look up the _pince-nez_ sunglasses that Morpheus wore, to see how they stay on. Basically, they pinch the bridge of the nose, and the name comes from a French phrase (pronounced 'pahnss nay') that literally means 'pinch nose' (also 'nose pincers' or even 'nose pliers'). The style that Morpheus wore had spring-loaded nose cushions, with little wire handles projecting toward the front, which you can see him using at 22:04. When they first came into style around the late 19th and early 20th century, the spring action was achieved by making the connecting piece curved and springy.
I've always thought skin oils or sweat would make them fall off. But perhaps Morpheus is too cool to sweat (when he's not being tortured, that is).
This was all considered "revolutionary" YET, the "Matrix" as a computer system was first introduced in the 1976 Doctor Who serial, The Deadly Assassin, 23 years before the release of this film. The difference is that the Matrix was not the real world but you could make it what you wanted. This movie is the other way around. NOBODY ever mentions Doctor Who as the true origin of the "Matrix". Now, you know.
"How did I not know there was a movie!?!?"
The idea goes back ancient Greece - In "The Allegory of The Cave" Plato suggested that if people were born in a cave and lived their entire life in it, they would think that's all of reality. If they were ever to see the world outside the cave, they would retreat back to the familar in confusion and terror.
In science fiction, there was an original Star Trek episode where they are trapped in Westworld sim, ("Spectre of The Gun" 1968) which they are able to defeat in a similar manner, by convincing themselves none of the danger was real. Tom Baker entered a computer-generated simulation, actually called a "matrix" in a Dr Who episode. ("The Deadly Assassin" 1976).
There's an 80's anime about people unaware that they are living in a fake Tokyo inside of a giant space station, 500 years in the future. They also have the scary "squiddie" robots. ("Megazone 23" pts 1&2 1985-86)
The year before the Matrix was realeased, were TWO movies about fake realities: "The Truman Show" with Jim Carrey, and "Dark City." Dark City is remarkably similar to The Matrix, down to the look and production design. The Matrix actually recycled some sets and props from Dark City.
Dark City is also *really good.* Some people like it as much or more than The Matrix.
A lot of people will forget to tell you the second movie in the series. Make sure you check out the Animatrix before watching Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, and Matrix Revelations.
Adorable reaction, still trying to keep that sweet smile while your mind is being blown. I think you understand a lot more than you give yourself credit for. There are so many tiny, subtle clues throughout all of the Matrix movies. I catch something new each time I watch. Looking forward to the next one. This has been a great way to start my day, think I'll get up and try to deal with some of the "agents" in my matrix.
Dawn: "I was going to say is he the first human to defeat an Agent" (Trinity from 15 minutes prior on the rooftop "Am I a Joke to you")
Reality being a simulation is actually one of the theories in quantum mechanics. It would explain some of the wierd things like quantum tunneling and one guy has been trying to build an experiment to prove or disprove the theory for years now.
8:30 I get into a car with 2 women I don't know, and one pulls out a gun and point it at my face and says, "Take off your shirt".
Me: "Oh wow, I am going to need some clean underwear."
Her: "Did you piss yourself?"
Me: "No"
Her: "Did you shit yourself?"
Me: "No"
Her: "If you didn't pee yourself or shit yourself, why do you need clean underw ... OMG!"
"I was droolin a little bit here" LOL love it
The glasses Morpheus wears are called pince-nez ... in French, literally, pinch-nose. That's how they stay on. The interesting trivia about the sunglasses is that each main character wears different sunglasses, designed specifically for that character, the same with their clothes in the Matrix ... except for the Agents, who all wear the same type of clothes and glasses. lt represent the individuality of the people, but not the Agents.
4:59 "It's the _question_ that _drives_ us, Neo."
How philosophical.
This movie is one of the most complex movies ever made, most people that say they know what the Matrix about, donât know the half of itâs true meaning.
Hi Dawn...welcome to the Matrix...when you get a chance, look up "Pince nez" glasses. 13:17 Morpheus' glasses are kept on by essentially being spring clipped to the bridge of his nose. And yes, you can buy Pince nez glasses...even ones like Morpheus'. âđŻđ
When hes given the training programs for fighting styles, he says "i know kung fu". In chinese culture, kung fu translates to "hard work". So essentially what he was saying was he knows a lifetime of dedication, practice and hard work which was spread out through multiple disciplines. Alot of people are misinformed on what kung fu is. You could be a bricklayer and you would be practicing kung fu.
My LOL moment is you, after a near couple of hours of watching a movie filled with incredibly bizarre science fiction moments, saying "C'mon how did that happen?" as Neo comes back to life after a kiss. Like everything else up to that point was completely believable but Neo's heart kicking back up speed was too fantastic to believe. Great work on the reaction all around!
Dawn: "How does his glasses stay on without the side thingy's. Ahhh...because he believes they will stay on". Solving one of the internets biggest questions. Loves yah. Keep being you.
Before the movie was released, what captivated me was the official trailer when the music (Enigmaâs âThe Eyes of Truthâ) kicked in during the action cuts.
Didn't know that, I'm a big fan of Michael Cretu
"I'm sure you could sell it, and make some pennies." With that Scottish accent xD I do enjoy how your mind works
I'm not even 2 minutes into your intro and I'm beaming like a movie projector. Subscribed!
"There is no spoon." is one of the best movie lines of all time. Haha, I lost count of how many times you said, "I want to do that." Like you, I have believed for many years that this could all be true. How would we know? I was living in Italy when this came out and in the town I was living the video store had one shelf of English language movies. The Matrix blew my mind so much I watched it 5 times in a day and then hired it again the following week. It is rare that sequels are as good as the original but Matrix 2 and 3 come very close. The film 'Dark City' with Jennifer Connelly is along similar lines, but not quite.... As I'm sure you know by now where you knew Agent Smith from, Hugo Weaving (apart from his role in the Lord Of The Rings) is in many fantastic films.
'Bite him' has got to be the best and most original reaction to Neo fighting Smith that I have ever heard. :)
I was expecting her to tell Neo to give him a Glasgae kiss next!đ€Ł
I don't know if you ever watch the sitcom _The Big Bang Theory,_ but there's one episode in which Sheldon (a theoretical physicist and former child prodigy) is dealing with Dennis Kim (a _current_ child prodigy) and manifests his insecurities with him by saying, "You can see the Matrix, can't you?" If you ever see this episode, now you understand the significance of this line.
23:55 "I forget: what makes the agents more powerful?" It's because they're computer programs, not people. Not only were they designed specifically for this purpose, but they were designed without the limits placed on humans in the simulation (which are there to make it seem real).
you are the only reactor that just turned to camera with a look after it was revealed we live in the matrix, u already felt it
I can always depend on you; Dawn Marie, if I ever want to watch an interesting video.
Your reaction to first Morpheus leaving the matrix by telephone, down in the subway.
Then being impatient with Trinity letting the phone ring.
"What are you waiting for!?!"
"Answer the flippin' phone!!!".
That's the way I felt the first time I watched "The Matrix".
And 24 years later I still feel that way, Dawn Marie.
I'm glad that you enjoyed this. It was a great experience at the cinema.
All the computer language references in these movies are cool and hard to keep up with. Mr. Anderson's apartment is room 101. 101 is a course or manual for beginners. Like the beginning of Mr. Anderson's hacking career. Trinity's room is 303. The 303 HTTP status code means that the redirects donât connect to the recently transferred resource, but to another page. Like, leading Mr. Anderson to other resources. The definition of "Neo" is new, recent, revived or modified. It can also mean first or the one. One of my favorites and way more subtle than the rest is at the Oracle's apartment. Neo had to accept her "cookies" before he could use her knowledge. lol
I think it is hilarious that everyone thinks this is a niche bit of cinema that no one knows. I was alive when this came out, and when it did, everyone knew this movie and ate it up, or some didn't because it was too scary or mindblowing - but EVERYONE knew it. There has been a handful of movies in my time that have changed cinema forever: Star Wars: A New Hope, Jurassic Park and The Matrix are in that list. A lot of movies copied bits from this movie, even Shrek. It set a special effects line in the sand, and everything that came after benefitted because of what was put into this movie.
But Dawn, you are funny and cute, and your humor strikes just the right counterpoint to this movie in this reaction. Great job, and keep them coming. You just earned another sub.
Agent Smith is Elrond from The Lord of the Rings. He's also Tick from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, but I don't think that's the movie you are thinking of.
Morpheus: Unfortunately no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.
Morpheus, nekminit: So Neo, let me just spend 5 minutes succinctly explaining the Matrix to you.
Think on this. Once Neo is the One, he won't need any bits to hold up his sunglasses at all.
The Oracle told Neo "not in this lifetime". Neo had to die to become 'the one'. While Trinity was told by the Oracle that she would fall in love with 'the one'. Her kiss was symbolic of her love of Neo. So Trinity's prophecy brought Neo back from the dead to awaken Neo into becoming 'the one', fulfilling Neos' and Morpheus' prophecy.
I can tell you the theater I watched this in on opening weekend is no longer there, on Sepulveda Blvd in Van Nuys just north of the 101 in Southern California while I was on vacation. It's one of those movies that not only changed theater, it changes who you are.
so here's the only thing you really need to know about the Matrix: there's 3 more of them. get watching.
there is something deeply troubling in the depths of the human soul when a mother says that human being is a disease upon the face of the earth.
That kind of thinking comes from the endless conditioning from corrupt people in positions of power. Once that conditioning is disregard it's clear that this world is meant for life to grow and thrive.
I'm a first time watcher and subscriber great reaction, And please take this as a compliment your accent kept me engaged the entire time.
I love it when a movie has a perfect end sequence with perfect song...open to suggestions, but others include Se7en and another Fincher masterpiece Fight Club!
My best has to be The Empire Strikes Back...the same closing credit piece as them all I think...but it is my fav SW film, and the orchestral transition at the end is ridiculous.
The homeless guy in the subway wasn't an Agent. Agents are security programs written to keep the Matrix running smoothly. As programs they can jump into any human body inside the Matrix (because those bodies are just simulations). This was why Neo was so scared when he ran into a crowd of people. It is also why no one could ever kill an agent. Only the body they were inhabiting gets killed (sucks to be that person) while the Agent program just jumps to another person. At the end Neo attacks Smith's program, not just the body he was in, and destroys it from the inside. He finally truly grasped that it was all just code and Neo as a hacker could do literally anything inside the Matrix.
You only ever see 3 Agents in the movie. They don't really have a body, they "possess" people that are a part of the system. If the person isn't a part of their system, like Morpheus' group that hacked into it instead of being a part of it, then they can't "possess" them or see what they see. Before they rescued Neo, an Agent could potentially take over his body, that's why they had a gun on him at first. If an Agent dies, it's just the person they're "possessing" that dies, and they simply switch to another person.
When Neo's running away at the end, the Agents are picking people that are further ahead in the direction he's going to "possess", and always be in his face. It's easier and more effective than just running him down on foot.
34:42 Is he the first-ever human to defeat an agent? Technically, no. Trinity "killed" an agent earlier by shooting him in the head at point blank range, 29:51
This and Blade are my two all time favourite films. Was cool to listen to someone seeing & enjoying it for the first time. Thanks for the video...!
Something I just noticed. Neo would never have to ask what an EMP isâŠ
"Did they just throw it on the side of the road? I'm sure they could sell it, make some pennies" spoken like a true Scot.
I'm starting to understand all the money-related jokes about Scottish people I read in my _Donald Duck_ magazines when I was a kid now.
One helluva movie. I would only nitpick ONE thing in the entire movie, and that is the "love's true kiss" that Trinity uses to bring Neo back to life. Aside from that, this movie fires on all cylinders at all times.
First minute of your commentary at the very beginning was already worthy of a thumbs up.
@12:39 Dawn Marie Gumby : "My brain hurts!!"
There wouldn't be any "simulation" talk without this movie... As someone who grew up playing Dungeons & Dragons. I'm trained in separating fantasy from reality. The vast majority of society took another path. And therefore cannot seem to separate the two things. (Insert "wa wa wa" trumpet sound.)
I saw the Matrix when it came out, in the theater. I used to be an artificial intelligence computer programmer and used matrices. A matrix is a mathematical structure which can be used in artificial intelligence and computer graphics programming. Neat movie. Cute Scottish reactor. Thumbs up!
I had a cat (almost ten years old, if not a bit older, can't quite remember) named Neo. đ
Unfortunately, he passed on last year's Fourth of July. đż
I don't watch trailers; I just get a hunch about a movie, depending on the cast and whatnot. đ
As the story goes...we went to see this in High School. However my bass player failed to mention to any of us that he had taken 3 hits of acid before hand. He never even made it through the opening credits before running out of the theater and spending the rest of the movie in the car doing God knows what. He took the Purple pill, for sure.
P.S.
Yes you have seen Agent Smith before, if you have seen The Lord of the Rings, he is Lord Elrond. This is my first time with you and you have a new subscriber đđŒ
I`m so glad you reacted to The Matrix because you`re my favorite reactor and The Matrix & The Terminator are my favorite movies.
The Matrix is a freaking MASTERPIECEđđđ
While there are 3 main movies, there is a underrated Animated Feature called The Animatrix (2003) which was also written by the same writers as The Matrix (1999).In the timeline of the movies, the Animatrix (2003) is second as the first short of the film is directly connected to the storyline of the sequel, The Matrix Reloaded (2003). The Animatrix (2003) is definitely worth the time if you want all the maximum Matrixđ
There are some pimped out badass scenes coming up in the following Matrix movies, all worth seeing. Now I didn't think that we could be in a simulation until I saw previews for Unreal Engine 5. That made simulation a possibility in my thinking. Anyways, I'm now in the 50/50 group in the "are we in a simulation" theory. I just don't know anymore.
squid thing is robot model called Sentinel, they were originally used as work force for mounting things together in factories by Machine City/country before war with humans, in war they were used as effective soldiers and saboteurs since they also fly. So after the war they are machine's military main fighting force
The red pill has a tracer code that allows people in the real world to track where Neo's real body is.
Neo was indeed not the one when he got to the Oracle, the Oracle said he was waiting for something his 'next life' maybe. When he died in that hallway and was reborn he leveled post-mortem to 9001 and unlocked The One skill line.
The world is really just a computer simulation.
Dawn: I knew it!
Morpheus doesn't have side bits on his sunglasses.
Dawn: No way. That's where I draw the line.
13:15 So wild that I never noticed that until this year and itâs been one of my favorite movies for over a decade. It's always so fun to vicariously experience this movie again through fresh eyes
Well, Mrs Anderson, I never thought you would get around to this one. So glad you did, as I wished to hear you interpretation. The glasses, by the way, are called pince nez (French for pinch nose) and that's how they stay on.
I fell in love with your ponytail last videođ The Matrix! I love watching reactions to this movie!
Ok - came for the reviewâŠstayed for the accent, and subscribed because youâre good and deserve to hit 20K đ
The style of glasses Morpheus is wearing are known as 'pince-nez' which literally means 'pinch nose'. Think of the word 'pincer'. They were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and no, original 'pince-nez' glasses were not tinted, they were 'reading' glasses.
The glasses have nose clips. lol That style was actually very popular in Europe in the late 1800s.
2:37 Morpheus is the name of a god of sleep and dreams in popular mythology, so the character being called that makes a lot of sense
I don't know how many times I've watched the Matrix...and how many reactions and videos and I have never heard anyone focus on those damn glasses the way you do!!.đđ€Łđđ€šđđ€đ
I really enjoy your reactions! I saw this movie in the theater in my late teens and one of my friends wasn't able to keep up with the storyline and fell asleep. At the end we nudged him awake and he asked "Who won?"
