I love this movie, i watch it in theater when it came out in 1999 and was blown away. Became obsessed with it and sequels. Still love to go back watch it from time to time. Great reaction, keep up the great content

It wasn't true love that brought Neo back. Nor was it a magical kiss. She simply reminded Neo that his real body was elsewhere. That it was all an illusion.
'Ah a materialist to the core. But perhaps a potentially emerging integralist? Are you familiar with the philosophy of Ken Wilber? Things emerging at a higher level cannot be reduced to that which gives it emergence. Love may emerge from "lower level" systems and their dynamics (biochemical impulses, atavistic evolutionary drives, social constructs, etc.), but they cannot be reduced to it, and are no less real than those systems and dynamics which give them emergence. Biology gives rise to mind, it does not make the mind not real. Sorry, it WAS a magical kiss.
Fax, but the Kiss coming from her was probably one of the only things capable of this, so it kind of was a magical kiss, even tho the kiss had no actual magic
@@duanebidoux6087 Actually no, the oracle told her that the man she fell in love with would be the one. So when he died she absolutely knew she loved him and so he was going to come back to life, with or without the kiss. The kiss just symbolized it for the audience.

Originally Will Smith was considered to play the role of Neo but turned it down to star in the western action comedy WILD WILD WEST, which he still regrets to this day
Val Kilmer, Nicolas Cage, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio were considered for the role as well.
Sandra Bullock, Rosie Perez, Janet Jackson,Jada Pinkett Smith, Salma Hayek, and Jennifer Lopez were considered for Trinity.
Gary Oldman, Sean Connery, and Russell Crowe were considered for the role of Morpheus.
Jean Reno was going to play the role of Agent Smith, but turned it down as he didn't want to move to Sydney Australia where they were filming.

This list of awards just shows how ridiculously ghetto-ized science fiction was and still is. Not even nominated for directing or screenplay. It can't be, because the movie includes robots and fight scenes! No way we could acknowledge any AUTEUR quality! For one of the most influential movies of the decade.

At 55:05 you are correct, they did end up at the same room where the movie started, room 303. That is how agent Smith knew where to go ahead of Neo, because he remembered from the previous time with Trinity.
If you enjoy Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) in this movie, in addition to completing the trilogy, you NEED to watch V for Vendetta. It's an incredible film with Hugo and Natalie Portman. You'll both love it.😊
And although small, he does great in his role of Elrond in Lord of the Rings. And he lends the voice for Megatron in Transformers and Rex in Babe. Iconic actor.

THE MATRIX is fire. I'm glad you guys loved it. One of my favorite franchises. Please watch them all. I love the trilogy. The newest one, #4, wasn't nearly on the same level, but its worth a watch.
First one was a masterpiece, everything that followed were generic action movies based on the reputation and style , still good action but no substance at all..
@@JflonsnI’d hardly say that reloaded and revolutions had no substance. It just went over most of your heads lol. There’s quite a bit in the sequels. Even Resurrections had substance I just didn’t care for the direction they took the story.
@@Jflonsn The first one simply had the benefit of introducing you to the concept. It's an advantage that the sequels do not and cannot have, hence you automatically feels like the first one is "better" than the sequels. I'd say the sequels did a pretty good job.
I like how Neo is still not sure of himself even facing the agent on the roof, he has such a relatable line; Trinity…Help!

Ten film pokazała mi dziewczyna w 2000r na kasacie VHS, gdzieś jej rodzice zdobyli i nie potrafiłem przestać go oglądać. Miałem może z 15 lat. I pamiętam jak się uczyła do szkoły odrabiała lekcje a ja byłem przed tym 14 calowym tv i nie mogłem się odkleić. I pamiętam jej uśmiech, kiedy kolejny raz włączałem film. WTF mi się przypomniało .
When Neo & Trinity enter the room to save Morpheus, notice that it sounds like "the Terminator". Matix movies are a continuation of what happens when the machines win in the Terminator series.
This film is the reason I bought a DVD player. Yeah, I'm old. Still, the concepts in the movie and all of the time the world spent picking out every little detail and the meaning behind it is epic. This movie fried a lot of brains. The story is brilliant!
Great reaction and that was fun. The Matrix still sits in my top 3 movies of all time next to Jurassic Park and The Lord of The Rings! 😁

I just realized, they don't take baby steps with the jump. Not 10 ft., let's do a skyscraper. But the guards weren't agents. They were people. 😥And that wall tile falling off was just good timing.
The 2nd are 3rd are awesome, the chase scene in the second is the best chase scene 9f all time

This was the first movie I saw with my now current wife. We went to see it with a coworker who had a crush on her and he wouldnt let me sit next to her. I was 20, engaged to someone else, and totally falling for her. We have been together everyday since. Have 2 kids and are still best friends. This movie will forever have a special place in my life. It helps that its awesome too.
What some people fail to see is that it wasn’t just Trinity’s kiss that brought Neo back, she fulfilled the prophecy that she would fall in love with the one.
Plus he wasn't fully dead, really. He was buffering to catch up with all the input (aka the gunshots) he'd been flooded with. When Smith was shooting him with single rounds Neo was tanking each one. The first show was directly to his heart with a .50 cal round from a Desert Eagle, Smith attacked with surprise, and Neo just stood there still alive. It wasn't until Smith emptied his magazine into Neo that there was any real effect on him. So while his mind in the Matrix was trying to sort out the excess data, his body couldn't tell that it was still connected and flatlined. What Trinity did in speaking into his ear and kissing him was to give his body and mind a bit of extra input to reconnect with each other, much like the trace program that let them figure out which pod Neo was in at the start.
Plus it makes for a nice 'true love's kiss' moment. ^_^

10:30 his voice is very identifiable in V for Vendetta and Red Skull in Captain America or the Gardian of the Soul Stone in Infinity War not to mention Elrond King of the River Elves in LOTR

Great reaction, and I have to say that the editing of it is amazing. Often times reactors condense the movie into a sub 60 minute reaction that skips an awful lot of important details, particularly with this movie; I'm glad to see that the editing was done in such a way that it encapsulates the most important parts, down to the details that set the scenes with vital context to the story. Very well done, congratulations.

Definitely watch the others. And include the Animatrix. That gives a great history of the Matrix.
What’s great is that Neo’s strong emotions are what end the war. His love for Trinity leads him away from the source and his hatred for Smith leads him to “erase” him, thereby giving Smith the copy ability which leads to the bargain with the machine boss
This movie hits diffrent the first time
The Matrix Reloaded (The Matrix 2) is better than the third one easily. It doesn't make sense watching the third movie without having watched the second movie as they were made at the same time.

Sure there are plenty of phones around in the world, but only phones that correspond with a line that still exists out in the real world can be used as entry/exit points.

Greetings y'all. Nomadic (wandering) "reactions" commenter here. I thought "The Matrix" (and trilogy) were great additions to my Sci-Fi movie tendencies. Keanu Reeves played an interesting character, but oddly enough, he can't seem to break out of that character portrayal in his post-Matrix endeavors. He was a much more animated character in movies like the "Bill & Ted's" adventures, in "Point Break", in "Speed" or "The Devil's Advocate". Now, every movie I see him in, it's like he's playing the same stoic, soft-spoken character he was as Neo in The Matrix. Movies like "Constantine", "The Day The Earth Stood Still" or the "John Wick" series all seem to have him playing Neo, except in different roles and by different names. Maybe, I just haven't seen enough of his new movies but right now I'm like, if you've seen the Matrix, you've seen all of his movies since.😉 Anyway, peace.🕊

The other 2 films in the trilogy get a lot of hate because of how intellectual and philosophical they are, but the trilogy should be seen as a whole. You're doing yourself a disservice by only watching the 1st film, IMHO. Love this trilogy, loved the reaction, hope to see the other 2 Matrix films on the channel!

She was right. That is the room Trinity was caught in. That's why Agent Smith was able to cut Neo off from the phone. He's been to that building and knows where that exit node phone was already. So instead of chasing Neo, who was busy getting directions and avoiding the other agents, he went straight to the phone first.
The moment Smith realized this was right outside the front door. He watches them run to the back, but he looks up at the "Heart O' the City Hotel" sign that he saw at the beginning of the movie.

The idea of this movie is not new.
Plato/Socrates Allegory of the Cave has a similar idea. There's these prisoners chained inside a cave but over time they realized the cave isn't real and they themselves weren't real but outside the cave was real.

I would have to recommend the AniMatrix before you move on to the 2nd and 3rd movies. Too many people forget about the AniMatrix and it will answer a lot of questions that may come up with this movie and the next ones!

The Matrix is one of the greatest movies ever made, IMHPOV! The 1st one is perfect because it lets you take the end where YOU want to go. The other movies are good but you are in the Wachowskis' world & where they want to take it.
