I came across your channel searching for videos on pinching cosmos and dahlias. My Yokohama grandmother used to grow cosmos in her yard. (My Scottish grandmother grew peonies and hydrangeas. ;) ) I'm trying to grow cosmos (including Apricotta and Cups & Saucers) and dahlias in the PNW this year. My cosmos aren't as far along as yours, but I found your video very helpful and your little assistant is adorable. I never gardened when I lived in Japan, but I think it would be fun to have a community allotment when I return after seeing your channel. I hope your garden wasn't too affected by the rain. My relatives in Kanto said it was quite bad.
Yay to the Japanese Scots! I’m glad you found the video helpful and hope your cosmos and dahlia look stunning for you. My next video is all about the storm damage last week. Unfortunately it washed away some of the new seed I planted so my cosmos and zinnia have a couple of bare patches. As we are well into rainy season now I think I may have to start replacements at home and plant them out after the rains. I do love my little allotment here and would highly recommend one on your return to Japan, they seem to be fairly common. Happy growing 🌱
