@@infowazznew orleans is sinking live at the roxy
big fan. loved seeing them in Buffalo NY!
Seen them twice in Tucson, once in Phoenix. All in small bars. The guys were simply Incredible. One was before they had air time with 100th Meridian
Good for you ! Small venue with the Hip....doesnt get any better!
Me too from the 80s still one of my favorite. I drove up to Atlanta to see them from Florida
Miss you Gord
My all-time favourite song…I’ve watched/listened this show dozens to times on Blu-ray and never picked up that Gord changed ‘shaking’ to ‘aching’. Have to rewatch to see if Gord replaced shaking with aching both times in the song.
My all time favorite band. Rest in peace my dear
❤
Was up front for the show in Victoria. I'd seen the Hip many times over the years, and it was a bittersweet moment knowing that this would be the last.

It was uploaded to youtube when it happened and it was there until just recently cuz CBC had it taken down. I think theres somewhere you can still watch it. Prime or something

I was there for the final show and never though it would hit me so hard but I cried at the end know it was the last time I'd ever hear them live . All time favorite band all time favorite singer , we miss you Gord you were truly one of a kind.
💯🙏🇨🇦❤️R.I.P TO BOTH!!!
♥️
First saw the Hip in 1988 at the McGill pub, good times!
How? How can Gordie be gone?....
Such a GREAT band! And how portentous of a band name for the lead singer 😢
Aw Gord.. 😢
😢
Hes amazing, he was like the dude from REM blended with Morrisey
I knew Scott and Tommy Thompson.
the song is about Tom Thomson- the canadian painter/artist, who died in 1917, so no- i dont think you knew him.
❤🥲
What looks like Elton John and sounds like Homer Simpson?
Oh relax , it's just a joke.
But you don't look like Elton at all.😅😅😅
@@charlesmelchiorre4109 sure I do. Cept I have hair, lots of hair.
To be honest, he is a horrible singer.
In Canada, it’s is illegal, immoral and just plain dickish to ever claim Gord Downy is anything but the greatest voice to ever churn out a song. RIP GDTTH
That’s okay. He was a poet with a wonderful voice. The fact he sang his poetry is incidental. It’s not why we listen, and it’s not why we care.
But, he wasn’t a bad singer, he just wasn’t very good. But man could he put emotion into his songs, and live he’d change up almost every set making it possible to watch his shows back to back to back without ever seeing the same show.
Not the lyrics, those were brilliant :) Remember this really was his last show as cancer ravaged his body! :(. RIP Gord Downie, celestial performer, rest easy thank you for your unique talents. Love and miss you fellow Canadian xo ♥️ 🤗 🇨🇦
I think you are missing the point.
I remember the first time getting high it was at a tragically hip concert and people were passing a blunt around the early 2000s were the best
