In Malaysia, the L200 was marketed as Storm. This pickup truck attracts my attention whenever I see it in popular Malaysian crime fighting tv shows.

Funny how in Australia the Dual Cab Ute like this is hugely popular with the off road scene and has been for quite some time. Personally own a Wagon 4x4 but my brother owns the same Triton/L200 and my son is looking at the same for his first car. Although not as popular as the Hilux or Ford Ranger, the Triton/L200 is still a very capable off roader.

I went to wales for a day out quad biking and the guy at the place had 5 quad bike's hooked on the back of the l200 climbing a mountain in 2nd gear on a gravel track . These are very capable trucks.

We used to have one of these at work,
and empty it was a lot of fun to "thrust vector" the light back with the rear wheels,
and with a heavy load you felt like a tank-driver
    (in a good way) :)

Hello! Can you tell me what gear ratios, final drive ratio and transfer case ratio do you have? If not... at least what rpm do you have at 10 km/h. Thank you!

Vlad B Sadly my L200 is no longer with us. In September 2019 a Woman in a BMW M4 crashed into it.
As far as I remember, it was around 2700 ish at 100km/h indicated.
Or did you really mean at 10km/h?
The low range gearbox was 1:1,8 as far as I know.

@@mds-lf3kl Yes, I really meant 10 km/h or anything in the first gear. I m trying to calculate the traction force from this or from the first gear ratio. I compare this car to another and the internet does not have this kind of detailed information about the l 200 the first or second generation.

Sweet looking truck. It has been a long time since Mitsubishi offered a pickup truck here in the USA. The only things they have are ugly looking cars that don't offer anything resembling performance. What you're testing is a real 4wd truck, a true utility vehicle. I like that. :)

This review got it all wrong. The L200 did not become a lifestyle 4x4 as this review predicted. The leaky Land Rover went and the Japanese pickup came. It really changed the English countryside. Ironic how Land Rover went into the lifestyle market and Japanese pickups became the workhorses of the countryside.
    Cheers
