大雪像と、国際雪像コンテストの他の小さい雪像は、全部市民の人達が作ってます。開幕日前日に大通公園に行くと、突貫工事的に作ってる様子が見られます。個人的には、ススキのに設置されてる氷の彫刻も好きです。

Hi, I'm a beginner to Japanese and new to this channel ( I really like your videos by the way :) ) I'm always confused as to when to use hirigana, katakana and kanji in a sentence. Is there a particular structure or...?
+Shannon Walsh I'll attemp to answer this lol Particles are always written in hiragana, "Japanese" words are written either in kanji or hiragana (hiragana when the kanji is difficult. There are certain words that have kanji but are written in hiragana to make it easier to read since it's hard to know the breaks when everything is in kanji), and katakana for foreign words and names that are commonly used (coffee コーヒー, dress ドレス）. Of course there are some exceptions, but that's the basic idea :)

Hey, Chika! I just got some questions about Tokyo. I know that Tokyo is a city, but I also heard of cities like Chiba and Saitama within Tokyo, so what's up with that?

I am surprised by the Evangelion sculpture as well, and this year, they should have a Gundam one, since there is a new Gundam show.
+Anakin Skyobiliviator Chiba and Saitama aren't in Tokyo.They are different prefectures that are close to Tokyo collectively referred to as the Kanto region :)

I'm a Japanese and live in Saitama prefecture! Please let me introduce Saitama!
My recommendation of Saitama is Kawagoe city.(city is part of prefecture, and prefecture is part of region. E.g. Kanto region →Saitama prefecture →Kawagoe city)
Kawagoe has Japanese historical cityscape but it is a little bit different from that of Kyoto. And you can enjoy shopping in Kashiya-Yokocho^,which is street where many inexpensive sweets, toys and goods are sold. If you are interested in Kawagoe, just google it! In addition it, please look up karumeyaki, which is very interesting Japanese sweet you can buy there.
And I can't forget to say that you can also buy ninja goods!

+Leo Chaidez I used to actually be quite chubby. Lately, I can eat pretty much anything and somehow stay the same. Same pattern as my mom - she gained quite a bit of weight in her early fifties so I'll have to watch out when I get a bit older! lol
