Very cool video! I might be having a GN250 handed to me, thinking of something like this, thanks.

aren’t these suzuki models slower than dog do do?? i mean they suffer from EPA tuning asthma..lo compression- cam profile that closes the exhaust valve too early which reduces unburned fuel in the exhaust, but really strangles the engines ability to breathe efficiently, making power mediocre at best..You can change the carburetor ,the jetting but the cam & the valve area & the compression ratio combined will prevent increased lively crisp power out of the mill.. you can rip the snot out of it when it’s not under load and make it sound fast, what’s it like in Top Gear on a grade?
I like the build, but these Suzuki engines from this era are just too too de-tuned and tame compared to some honda engines from the same generation..

Of course man, you won't break the sound barrier ! In Belgium, you are limited in terms of power when you're -24 yo. So it was a nice small bike to start on the road

I did not realize you were in Belgium. That is an excellent policy to have limits on the size motorcycle riders can ride until they are 24. I sold motorcycles part time for 17 years here in the United States. And 18-year-old can walk in and buy a Hayabusa brand new. He doesn’t even have to show his drivers license, although he hast to provide insurance information to get a license plate. Actually a 16-year-old with a drivers license cannot buy a new motorcycle, or even a used one legally, but a 16-year-old on his 16th birthday can hop on his friends Hayabusa and ride off into the sunset.
I know for a fact that riding a small low power motorcycle makes the rider a better rider when they start out riding bikes. with a small bike you have to maintain momentum, pick better lines so you don’t lose the speed through the turn because you had to break, it teaches you would gear to be in to stay on the power band, teaches you to stay off the brakes, and even though it seems like you’re going fast, when you’re ringing a smaller bikes neck, you’re not really going that fast, and that gives the beginner a chance to survive to ride another day when they make a mistake.
they have limits on displacement in Japan for beginners also. I don’t know how tough it is to get a license in Belgium but I heard it was tough in Germany. In Japan, only four out of every 100 beginners that go to take their test to get their license, only four out of 100 pass the first time, and in some parts of Japan, you actually have to prove you have a place to park the motorcycle before you can buy one.
I enjoy the smaller bikes. I road raced 250s for eight years. Even though I won six road racing championships and was national champion two times, I never liked going fast, that’s why I stuck with the 250s instead of the 1000s, By the way, the lap times of the 1000cc bikes were only four seconds shorter than the 250s., and nobody could really run the crap out of 1000 the way you can on a 250. It’s more fun to ring at 250s neck..

@@Jodyrides Really interesting ! Road racing ? Love that, it's on my to-do list ! Have you got some pictures ? FE your race bikes ? I had my full licence before my 24 yo birthday this year, after two legal years with restricted power. Now I have two old Moto Guzzi and soon I'll finally have a 80-90's sportbike !
