    Totally forgot too, but as for my sometimes delay throttle, there is no fix for that at the moment, and the truck is up-to-date on all software.
    I truly appreciate that my dealer is going above and beyond in trying to find a solution to this problem and hopefully find a fix for all of us out there who have this issue! The more of us that speak up about issues our vehicles the better. This allows Toyota to be aware of the issues and hopefully fix them, which in turn makes the truck to be as reliable as the last gen in the end. I appreciate ya'll watching!

      I too have a delay in the throttle at low speed. I suspect it is the transmission trying to select a lower gear before engaging the engine.

      I have this same issue and it drives me nuts, I've almost been T-Boned twice because of the stall. Dealer magically could not duplicate and they didn't even log the visit against the VIN.

      I am grateful for you being honest about your experience with the truck and informing us about how these problems are being addressed. I have a 2014 Tundra and it had some rattles that drove me crazy. I've been able to fix most of them, but my experience has made me hesitant to purchase another Tundra. I will be curious to see if Toyota comes up with a solution. The tailgate issue is pretty minor, but on a truck in that price range, it seems unacceptable be told that's just how it is.

      Very true… which that seems to be the case in the groups with people saying that their dealerships just say they can’t fix it or don’t have a fix and just give them the keys. It’s also the consumers fault sometimes for taking the keys because they don’t know better, but if we are persistent with our dealers to get something fixed, then hopefully they will come around.

    My ‘22 Tundra is in for 20K service today. For the third time I have asked them to fix the wind noise issues at the driver’s and RR door gaskets. The RR is the worst especially as it has gotten colder here in NW VA.
    My dealer service did have a master tech ride with me during the 10k service and he heard the noises. He tried some common fixes that helped but ultimately, the noises returned. He did fix a third noise that was coming from the passenger side headliner. Acoustically, it seemed to be coming from the passenger seat or door. That was a strange one, but definitely fixed.

    Just noticed the paint is chipped on the left and right side where the black spoiler meets paint on the top sides as well as under the release handle where plastic meets. I see it in your video too on both sides. Guessing from the heat and expanding as this was not there when I got it. Look at the top left and right where spoiler meets. 1:56 minutes in you can see the vertical scrape and no paint a little . Going to ask dealer first. Toyota is not like they used to be. My 2019 Tacoma was my first Toyota and had many interior rattles along with a laundry list of unscheduled maintenance and quality issues. I hope you get them figured out on your truck. I gave up, took advantage of the high resale and cashed out. It’s someone else’s problem now. The love-hate I had with it was real. First vehicle I’ve dumped in that manner.

    • @ricmagik
      @ricmagik Před 9 měsíci

      Your first Toyota was a 2019, how do you know the old ones were like? Lol, Toyota has always been cheap rattling vehicles. I’ve had my share of 1993-1996 camrys,previa, Tacoma, 2001-2005 camrys, tundra, 2008 tundra and even rented a 2021 sienna last summer. All were cheap and made noises lol. I’ve been telling people, no should be buying $50-80k Toyotas, just not worth it

    • @josephkane4364
      @josephkane4364 Před 9 měsíci

      Perhaps other family member have owned them over the years and was able to observe.
      I gave up on the Tacoma after a few no crank-no start occurrences, timing cover leak, power steering rack leak, EVAP canister issues throwing CEL, reduced braking performance at highway speeds and other items that remained unresolved.
      Our experience used to dictate the Japanese vehicle we owned were much tighter much longer than our Ford, GM and Chrysler products. The plastics, usually the tabs on the trim would be issues much earlier in the ownership cycle on those manufacturers.
      I’ve learned to be my own advocate when dealing with product issues. I’m convinced they are all the same.
      $50K plus seems to be the trend of all manufacturers, not that it makes it right. I now buy what fits my needs at time of purchase. I refuse to be brand loyal.

    will see when its time. I so far have nothing to complain about that the dealer can do anything about. I can't hear any rattling but the next newest car we own is from a decade ago. drive on dirt roads and trails every day. I do note a little turbo lag sometimes and then it takes off like a rocket, will ask for that TSB when its time. (built 7/23 SR5, TRD RWD Crewmax shortbed)

  • @ZacharyHankins
    @ZacharyHankins Před 7 měsíci

    I'm a Toyota fan boy as well, but there have been some quality issues for sure. I own an SR5, and my driver side window rattles, I have some weather stripping on my driver side rear window that is peeling off, and my center console rattles when going over bumps. I love the truck, but watching you and lots of other channels has taught me there were quite a few QC issues that went unnoticed.

  • @omarawad2161

    Hey buddy, my 2023 TRD Sport just developed this issue recently and I thought it was the front windows. The shop foreman at a local dealer came out and did a test drive with me and he wanted to try a "trick" that he uses. When we came back from the test drive, he ran to one of the bays and grabbed a stick of "Door-Ease" wax lubricant, looked like a giant crayon. He applied a coating to the rubber around the door seal all the way around, both on the door seal that surrounds the entire window and on the cab seal that is fixed on the truck.
    I was initially putting pressure on the window and was able to get the noise to stop but that wasn't the issue. Try pulling the entire door by the handle inwards while driving and your noise should disappear if you've got the same thing as me. The rattling noise in your video is literally identical to what I had.

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Will let the dealer know that potential trick as well. I know they tried that with my last truck with no luck but maybe this time that will work.

The second time they tried fixing it by add felt to the inside of the door. It went away but came back after I rolled the window down and up as I got in my neighborhood. So theyre gonna have my truck for a while and want me to ride in one of their loaner tundras to see if that window rattles as well to rule out anything along the lines of its built that way. I mentioned your page about the rattles as well and the tech was intrigued to see what your results were with it. Guess well wait to see what they come up with. They had their diag guy look into it, he measured the gaps of the door and found them to be within the toyota spec but were on the looser side. Adjusted both front doors, and striker and the glass was no longer moving when you push on it from the inside. Theres still a little bit of rattle, just a little here and there but its over large pot holes (Maryland roads are terrible). Hope this helps. @@TRDJon

    My absolute #1 gripe with the 3rd gen tundra is with the hvac system. You cannot set your heat to come through the dash vents. Floor or defrost only. You can hear the vents close off inside the dash so that's just how it was programmed by toyota. It's the only toyota of many I've owned that does this.

Also drove the truck without the door panel on. Its been to the body shop for realignment as well. Realigning the door did help the issue a little but the noise is still their but not as bad. They also suggested to have the body shop bend the door. The body shop didn't want to do that due to the aluminum body nd if they over bent the door they didn't want to be responsible to replace the door. The body shop did also not recommend replacing the door due it could be worse.

    I have had a rattle on my 2022 Tundra Platinum coming from somewhere on the passenger side that I have been struggling to pinpoint the exact spot its coming from. Sometimes I think it is the front passenger window and other times I am thinking it is closer to the pillar the front passenger seat belt is attached to. Going to guess its the window though because it sounds similar to yours. Also have the occasional wind noise on the drivers window that I only seem to notice if it is a windy day.
