Love that a world famous chef does simple home made burgers. No wanky brioche bun, no special sauce, burger isn't made up of 50 ingredients and he uses a simple toaster like a normal person.
Yep he's just people to❤
It's what makes his recipes and approach to cooking so appealing to me. He shows how good food doesn't need to be complicated.
If you are poor just say that.
@@Armelleeeoverpaying for things doesn’t make you rich, only a fool.
@@Armelleee Absolutely fucking based
Eats it open-faced like a true G
😂
🤣 💯
@@sthannah78ify are you related to Big Lenny?
No joke. I actually said out loud what a G. Then I see the first comment. Lol.
I mean, eating a hamburger with a closed face would be a feat!
Just watching this man relaxes me. He’s a treasure to appreciate as long as we can. The burger lesson was immaterial.
Even cooking a simple hamburger, I learn... Thank you M. Pepin
I love this gentleman. He is a human tranquilizer, lol. I watch him with my morning coffee every day.
Same.
they look pretty tasty though I prefer mustard to may or ketchup
he truly is a treasure!
He should get the Presidentiel medal. Contributed more to cooking then any other chef outside of Julia child.
Yes, I agree with you 100%.
The best part of this video is seeing one of the greatest chefs in the history of the planet giving the thumbs-up to a simple burger on a humble English muffin after saying "mmmmmm......delicious". The man is a treasure.
Great thing is not claiming a great cuisine and technique more if you're hungry this works. No doubt he could level up but..why?
No one is better than Jacques Pepin !!
What a genuine man.
I could listen to this man say hamburger all day.
Greatest Chef on the Planet....!!!
Double toasts his English muffin, he is my people!
Nothing simpler.......dude eating a burger, awesome.
He's made some of the most complicated dishes known to man, yet still cool enough to get down with a burger on an english muffin. 😎👍
From now on, I am going to pronounce hamburger as "'am-buer-gare." I love this man.
Me too 💕💞💟
Dear KQED
May you be blessed for giving us JACQUES PEPIN until he leaves us. I would love to watch him cook on his 100th birthday!
Jacques Pepin is the original ASMR.
English muffin hamburgers? YES!
The Master likes ketchup 👍
my childhood... love this man... even the fanciest chefs eat like the rest of us at home...
only better
Jacques likes an open face hamburger on an English muffin slice. I like it and the tip about salt on the tomato. That was a hot tip!
imagine Jacques with the munchies late at night lol....he couldnt just grab a bag of chips to eat he'd have to start cooking and grilling.....I dont know why i just thought of that .....lol.....love Jacques!!
Imagine having the munchies ,and when you came home Jaques was whipping up munchies in your kitchen lol
He can make me one of those "omburgers" any day! Followed by crepes for dessert
poppyhimbo
JACQUES had said his go to
quick munch is just bread & butter. Has to be a really good bread. Best just out of the oven.
No cheese, but I dont even care, this man is a treasure
I liked him before I saw this video and now that I see he uses Heinz ketchup he is my all time favorite.
Besides watching Jacques Pepin cook, I love listening to his voice. My maternal Grandmother was from France and it reminds me so much of how she'd speak English in her beautiful accent. It's so comforting to watch him cook and listen to him describe the process while relating personal stories. I'm sure I'll never have the privilege of meeting Mr. Pepin, but I'm extremely grateful to be able to watch his videos on CZcams and Instagram every day.
Watching this video a day after Jacques lost Gloria makes him serving just the way she likes it bittersweet, to say the least.
I had to look that one up, but it puts this video in the realm of happy memories.
Gutted for him…
For me, mustard please and pickle slices too. It should just be whatever you like. That’s the beauty of cooking at home, you make it your way. Plus, i love how he always strives to make something the way his wife likes it.
Mustard mixed through the meat? Or in the end as a topping?
As a topping. 😊 As little or as much as ya like with any other toppings or fillings. Make it as you please.
@@chrisandersen5635 Where burgers are concerned, there are either ketchup, mayo or mustard people in this world. I can't be tied down, I have a bit of everything on mine!
Me: „Never put ketchup on a hamburger.“
JP: „I like my ombergere with ketchup.“
Me: „Definitely put ketchup on a burger.“
Omberger ❤️
I actually Lol'd at your comment, thanks for the chuckle
And Raymond blanc likes brown sauce on his bacon sandwich
His use of ketchup was shocking to me, but to each their own, as he demonstrated. I’m surprised he didn’t mix ketchup and mayo, which I like tondo
I love the 'thumbs up' ... 👍... Jacques is a national treasure.
It’s like he’s just going through his usual routine, making lunch for his wife, and then someone has just snuck in with a camera.
I could watch Jacques cook all day. He is my favorite chef. Him and Julia are my two favorites. I can still remember watching Julia and Jacques cooking at on PBS every weekend. They were a great team who showed us how to cook some amazing dishes, and how to use different ingredients
It's the little things that Jacques does like making the extra burger (mayonnaise included) for his wife that makes him that little bit extra special. Magnifique!
Agreed, I think Mrs Pepin is possibly the most blessed woman on the planet!
I really Love this guy especially when he says......"and dats sit". :-) A true icon. Thank You.
Whenever he says "and it's fine" it makes me feel a little more calm.
I love when he says “on top of it” 🙂
I like when he slurps in a bit because the food is so appetizing. I imagine he can't help but salivate out of control while talking.
I like his "...over here..." as well as all the others, particularly his slurping.
Every time I watch his cooking at home, he has so much love for his wife. I'm so sad that Gloria past away in 2020.
Jacques Pepin and the elegance of simplicity
Thank you for everything Jacques
That sound byte had me sold. 3:42
It is so calming to watch this man in the kichen.
love you Jacques .. there's something extra ordinary about you
This man, should be teaching every chef in the world.
I'm not sure why, but this video made me a little happier to see that he made another version for his wife
'Ombergere'
ALLONZ Y
Haha! Nailed it..
😂
Much more elegant spelling. Bravo on your accuracy! 😄😄😄
Chef Pepin is welcome to make me une ombergere anytime he wants.
And he co-signs ketchup, so that should shut the snobs up (George Motz, I'm looking your way).
Reminded me of this movie scene. Enjoy! czcams.com/video/MKn07j6RnYI/video.html
I'm Team Gloria. 👩🍳
I love watching him cook and listening to him speak.
This guy is a treasure for all of humanity.
I'm selling my gas grill tomorrow. And I'm never buying hamburger buns again!
P.S. Jacques, as always, you are the best.
I just love how kind and gentle he seems.
Listening to his voice is soothing.
God bless this good man and his dear wife may she RIP. Watching his videos during COVID19 has given me and countless other viewers a measure of comfort and solace
A real treat to watch Chef in the kitchen
He is like the Bob Ross of cooking. Just get so relaxed watching him cook.
The crunch of that perfectly toasted English muffin took me from mildly hungry to utterly famished! This is as good as his curly hotdog...
He's a teacher doing what teacher's love to do! !!
Teach. ..... and eat!!!🍔🍅💖
I could literally watch chef Pepin boil water. Hamburgers? Yes!!!
The crunching sound when he took a bite, I could almost taste it. LoL
I like mayonnaise on my burger as well Jacques. My condolences on the passing of your beloved wife Gloria.
The great Chef Pépin showed how delicious food can be prepared simply with simple, quality ingredients and simple techniques. Mouthwatering !
He is so French!
Makes the burger I just ate for lunch look sad... 😒. Jacques masters everything he makes!
It is such a gift to cook with this legend.
Be happy in what you do.
Nice video. You're doing fantastic.
he's my favorite. He makes it looks so easy. Now I want burger.
I like his cooking at home videos. It's always simple, and like here just a way to make it more delicious without a lot of extra work, like making two smaller burgers and have them open faced on English muffins. I feel I want one right now as a matter of fact.
My absolute, total, all time favourite chef.
We love you, Chef. 🥰
Something simple into something gourmet by a great master!
The way he says hamburger reminds me of my Italian great-grandparents and uncle. Love it!
I love the at home series. It's so simple and straightforward. It's basic cooking from the Grand Pere of American food.
Always a pleasure watching this fine Gentleman cooking and teaching. Thank you Chef!
He is the best.
I like both catchup and mayonnaise on my burger
and mustard ....all three
@@peepgal I used to put all three but not lately.
catsup and mayo are the two main ingredients in almost every American burger joint’s “secret sauce.”
...and dill pickles!
And pickles. If I don't have pickles then I put some relish on it
So simple and still tasty. That “CRUNCH” at the end says it all.
A lovely slice of brie on there ..... oh, divine!!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!!
Gotta Love Jacques!
Condolences 💐
His videos are the best! I love his manner, so sweet & soothing. 💕
Thom Burgers are always my favorite. I remember growing up seeing this on the back of the Thomas' English muffins package.
Thank you, Jacques!
Merci! J'apprecie votre 'emission. PBS brought this program into my life. Thank you
Jacque, your no Gordon Ramsay, and thank the lord for that. Awesome.
Perfect chef, perfect person. Love you. Be safe and happy.
Such a dear man. So sad he doesn't have his Gloria.
we're lucky to have salt from a 5,000 yr old mine here in Romania!
I LOVE YOU CHEF JACQUES PEPIN. I REALLY DO. Thanks for all your videos and cook books. MAY YOU AND ALL YOUR LOVED ONES BE HEALTHY AND BLESSED!!
he doesn't read comments.
Bravo Pepin!!
The English muffin is a perfect partner for a hamburger. And the best English muffins are Old Bay if you can find them they are terrific.
I prefer Thomas's, but for a burger they could be a little too delicate. And difficult to find depending on your locale.
Fantastic burger! Thanks for the idea!
100% agree Mr. Pépin!
Love the thumbs up after the bite !❤
La tranquilidad que me transmite este señor es increíble!!!!
LOVE THIS MAN
This looks incredible! Basics are the best. ❤
What a wonderful man...
There is wisdom in every simple thing. And Pepin is a wise man. Thanks!
Merci, grand maitre!
I started watching Jack when I was a very young kid! Glad I found him again! I’ll try this recipe!
Jacques gives me hope. ✌️
You are a national treasure chef Pepin! So grateful for your indelible mark left on the global culinary community!
Blessings Jaques Pépin
My mouth is watering at the end result.
I have always used English muffins for burgers. Brilliant minds think alike 😅
cook with love always taste better
Thanks master
Also, butter and salt.
Only the best for a chefs chef
