Ocean Warrior: Welcome Aboard the Maiden Voyage

- On Friday September 9th 2016 the Ocean Warrior departed Antalya, Turkey on its maiden voyage to Australia, via Amsterdam and a short supplies transfer in La Spezia, Italy.

So far Sea Shepherd was in Animal Planet's recent show called the "Ocean Warriors" that involves other issues as well as it portrays other organizations' taking action but its been few years now and I don't see more from it. Leonardo Dicaprio is helping to make a Sundance film called "Sea of Shadows" and it show Sea Shepherd's Operation Milagro.

The camo looked mint but they have said they won't do that anymore as it too much of a pain to keep looking good and black is way too hot in warmer climes.
The bob looks naff just grey now so they could really do with a big logo or something to break the grey up a little.
I think the “battleship” grey gives the impression of an actual battleship and that has a lot of phycological advantages . Or not . I don’t know .

There is a Sundance film called "Sea of Shadows" and it show the Mexican Navy and Sea Shepherd's Operation Milagro, battling against the drug cartel and the Chinese mafia to save the vaquitas, but its been showing in few theaters.

The ship looks good, the design looks like an offshore patrol vessel that many coast guards, government fisheries, and Navies have.
Cannot wait to join one of these amazing campaigns, definitely on the bucket list

When you're at sea, a water cannon can act as really effective warning shots from a 5 inch gun on a destroyer.

Amazing ship ever !!! Oceans Warrior is a fantastic chance for dolphins, whales, porpoises, and all the creatures of the oceans. Soon, Nisshin Maru and its infamous fleet will have to get out of the radars by force...! Japan must learn to behave much better and respect the Biodiversity of the Ocean!!!

With the bow design you will get a lot of ocean spray. The top of the bow should curve outward to direct the ocean spray to the sides not allowing it over the deck and cockpit. Maybe you could have directors added to the bow to keep the spray to a minimum.
The ship doesn't really get a lot of spray, the ship designers know what they are doing ;)

This is so Awesome to have another frontline defense against what I see as "Raping the Oceans bounty" ! Those who cannot regulate themselves and continue non ethical fisheries and by catch atrocities will now be pushed harder to make change for the good of everyone and most of all the health of the oceans. Ocean Warrior may she become a beacon in a sea of darkness.

Price, size, water displacement, hull design makeup such as how many water tight bulk heads compatments, thickness of hull ect., engine specs hp ect, h20 cannon gpm, max nautical mph, cruising speed and gpm consumption at cruise? Fuel tank compacity? Any other armaments or goodies? Thankyou guys

Japan cheated. They use a satellite to relay Sea Shepherd's positions but it cost them too much, even attempted to make another Nisshin Maru, that they finally gave up whaling in the southern ocean.

@@cumbrianrailspotter6154 I believe it was the Kaiko Maru. If anything, more than 50 years ago there use to be 45 vessels that had the similar purpose as the Nisshin Maru but as whale population was declining in Japan's waters only one Nisshin Maru remains because it would waste too much money to refuel multiple Nisshin Marus only to have less catch, especially when only 1% of Japan eats whales. It takes more than a million dollars to refuel them.
