the part about Rob backing their interests outside of football is so fascinating and great to see

And imagine what it says outside of direct compensation to ANY ANY ANY player they are trying to attract....
Rob and Ryanâs behavior is evidence against the nice guyâs finish last idea. Not that that canât happen, but they show how if you treat people with love and respect, it not only enriches your life, the ripple effects are tremendous. Part of the reason everyone wants to go to Wrexham is they see that Rob and Ryan genuinely care and are helpful. And the more people you can make feel like that, the more doors open in your life, the better partnerships you can build, etc.
Iâm a Newcastle fan and weâve had owners who donât care and are in it for the money, to now owners who care about the staff and players. I went on a stadium tour at Xmas and someone asked the tour guide how things have changed since the takeover and he said itâs like day and night difference. Meals payed for, more holidays and they show their faces and remember names. They care now. Which encourages not just players but staff aswell. Itâs amazing to see đ€đ€
Very much reminds me of Coach Calipari at University of Kentucky. He's not only produced half the NBA talent he's a genuine and truly nice guy and that's why many players wanna go to UK. I once worked with a guy that was a bench player for Calipari at Memphis and even this guy had kept in touch with Calipari when most coaches barely keep in touch with former starters let alone JUCO transfer bench players.
The nice guys finish last is a sort of on the pitch stuff , you have to play dirty sometimes to win clutch games , you need characters to go for titles which nice guys generally don't have , I don't think the same applies for owners
@@ejyounggun08 lmao calipari is a sleeze ball who breaks all the ncaa rules and he doesnt develop talent they're just 1 and dones. feck off with that comparison
Not really, nice guys DOES finish last. Hope they STILL do and never win. Why? Cause ppl can still be FAKE(secretly a heartless dirtbag of a human) and nice. Best is to be a GOOD guy in general. Ultimately, be nice AND good.
Ben needs to stay for one more season. Do it for the fans.
personally I wouldn't mind seeing Ben for another year but I think he's already done all he can for the club and himself
You gotta leave while the crowd is still applauding.
@@gargaj He could easily be a backup goalie/coach/mentor/social media influencer
As long as he doesn't replace the injured goalies spot in the starting eleven, he will benefit the team.
Notts and Wrexham back for next season. Things you love to see.
@@atkascha Ahahaha mate I bet, a couple unbelievable games but you lot are the ones that deserve to go up compared to any other team. Super excited to see notts go up and very keen for next season!
@@atkascha I know it wasn't to the level of support that Wrexham gets, but it was wild and awesome to see so many people cheering for Notts to go through too. So pumped we are both going up, Notts deserves it just as much.
I have to say as a north wales exile living down in deepest Kent I have to thank Wrexham for two things my pride in my homeland itâs always been there but all this has made it stronger and getting me addicted to the Fozcast Iâm so enjoying watching these Thank you
Always had a soft spot for Ollie Palmer, bit of a cult hero for me at Lincoln, glad to see heâs doing well!
I miss Ollie at Wimbledon đą glad he's doing well!
I donât miss him at orient he was awful
Love this whole journey. It's just beautiful. Thanks for posting this chat.
Great to see how the owners help the player and the town outside of the football. Good lucky Ollie with the brand
They will have such a pulling power for players that will race them up the leagues. I think Rob backing players future prospects will be critical for the next few years until they get to the championship at least.
yeah allowing the side hustles are super important to lower league players too --- it allows them to play football and keep them afloat if successful. That's such an interesting way to keep players happy. Its not for everyone the younger ones might want to focus on getting bought by bigger teams but someone at 30-31 like palmer its like getting a head start on life after football while still doing what you love.
Convincing youngens to come on loan is also way easier for Wrexham. The exposure they can provide for them is higher than most if not all Championship teams. As long as the documentary runs, and if the media hype doesn't completely die, they'll have as much pulling power as a lower end Premier League club (excluding the financial aspect).
Letâs see, all it takes is for a bad run, confidence to drop, thoughts of this fairytale run up the league to end and then they can get stuck in league two. Whatâs going well for Wrexham, is they came close last year and just missed out, theyâve been there, now theyâve won it, theyâll have confidence in themselves in the good times and the bad.
'Pulling power' means paying Championship wages. Right.
@@deletebilderberg Sponsors do though easily.
As an Australian watching the Wrexham revival and wanting to see underdogs succeed can I say that you have both played such a significant role in bringing back what is the essense of sport. You have played at the top level but bringing your knowldege back to grass roots is sooo important. I am not saying Wrexham is grass roots ... but I sort of am saying that. It's what it is all about when a community is involved.
@5:20 icecream van is outside đ
sending good vibes from the states â much love to ben and ollie and all the dudes
I think Ryan, Rob & Wrexham have been a perfect fit. Hope you go all the way to the premier and we can welcome you to the Molineux.
I can see Wrexham and Notts County rising up the leagues together, just like Sholing and AFC Totton have this season. Rivalry brings out the best in clubs.
Also a notts fan. I see wrexham doing the same thing this season but with it being a bit more tough. Its our job to match that and I don't see why we can't both continue what we did we have great clubs and great players.
The other notts fan talking about IB. I don't believe IB was a bad manager I think forest Green was a sinking ship because of the owners choices I felt he was doing an ok job there for what happened after November if you see Forest green didn't improve after him and just got worst. Anyway I hope we both do the same would love to beat you to it this time
Ben , I hope you stay for just one season and see where this fairy tale journey takes you and Wrexham , we all know it's not about the money , it's all about a wonderful memory , something you can tell your grand kids , it's like the whole world is on this same Wrexham fairy tale train , I'm an Arsenal fan and even I'm going on this journey for a laugh
Loving it from the middle of America. Soak it all in guys, you guys are in the middle of something special. Never in my 50 years have I seen anything like this sports. I enjoy seeing the thrill and amazement in your eyes. Fonzie, 1 more year? At least 1 would be great.
Come on, its hardly the underdog story its made out to be. They have the highest budget in the national league and more than more League 2 teams. Its hardly suprising they've got promoted
To be fair in America you don't really have this as promotion relegation isn't a thing
Panama?
@@Tomafc its not meant to be a underdog story its a story about a club going into the shit until these awesome new owners came in and completely changed the lives of people in wrexham, cheer up mate see it for the good of what it is, don't try see the negative in everything
@@ocarwood4535 not trying to be negative pal Iâm happy to see any lower league team do well and their fans enjoy it but just putting it into perspective, theyâve hit the jackpot with those two owners and it canât be ignored that theyâve bought their way out that division.
Just watched the entire Fozcast interview with Ollie. Also saw the 2 fan podcasts this week that Rob and Ryan were on and were interviewed. Fearless in Devotion and Rob Ryan Red. Highly recommend all 3.
Ollie comes across like such a decent bloke
We need Ollie, Paul , Ben & Ben (Fos & Toz) doing a podcast while playing golf.
So many football players retire and have nothing to do and have a slump so it's good that the boys are looking out for the future of the players.
Ollie Palmer what a man.
I am sure the larger wage packets lessened the 'gamble' somewhat.
He could have gone to the Championship and I doubt they were offering that sort of money. In addition if the gamble went wrong what would he do in 3 years time after not playing high level football for so long. He could have been stuck.bouncing between national league and league 2 teams for the rest of his career.
Oli played really well at Leyton Orient too.
Great interview
Love watch these podcasts gives you a good insight of what it would be like to be a pro sports person awesome and your such a top guy Ben proper down to earth guy
Well done Ollie on your clothing line
Wrexham is now a massive part of my life, a life long Blue Nose myself, my father before me also.... Ive got him into watching Wrexham as to my girlfriend too, we love it.
I think the bit about starting a side hustle is great. Not every sports person has a long career or well paid and if they been into that sport since childhood or teenager and suddenly it stops, then what?
Im an American and following Wrexham has been a delight. It makes Soccer enjoyable and fun to watch. If only the MLS and US soccer federation would care about the sport like Rob and Ryan do we would have a product that Americans would be proud of.
That's a fantastic idea for owners to help players transition easier once playing is over
Ollie has a great brand on his hand. If he continues to push this brand, he will have a massive clothing brand on his hand when Wrexham make it.
Imagine your boss pulling you aside and asking about your interests/ventures outside work and then backing it?
Excellent Ben thanks. Mot
We're all invested in Wrexham now, it's a global club :D
Edit: Looked at the WXM clothing.....everything sold out except XS :/ congrats on the success tho!
Think Wrexham not only offered Ollie a 3 yr contract they also doubled his Wimbledon wages. Plus Wrexham were already buzzing at the new ownership.
That season Wimbledon only needed 3 more points to stay in league 1. We really struggled to score without him. Ollie leaving was a big reason why we went down. Fair play to OP though, most in his position wouldâve moved. We missed him, 100%.
Rob and Ryan have that working class mind set, if they know they have good staff they will back you, help you no matter what .
Ben I love listening to your pod but please do your research on Ed Sheeran he is ITFC sponsor and season ticket holder not an owner
Love these lower tier of football stories Iâd love to see more of these just guys in the lower leagues who are either up and comers or vets who have loads of stories
Dropped because wage was higher and good project - nothing wrong with that.
I have tried several times to buy from your clothing brand. It's always sold out! I will keep trying.
Phenomenal â€ïžđđ€©đŻđ„
I'm reading Ben and Paul may get a cameo in the new Dead Pool - I think Ollie needs to be in it too.
Top podcast mate.
Nice to see the good things people do behind the scenes, too many greedy people only looking out for themselves.
Fookin hell man. Proper owners
I'm traveling to Vegas in a hoodie? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA It's hot as hell there.
this Wrexham story is genuinely beautiful. Shows you what money can do when partnered with authenticity and heart.
Beautiful...haha..
So you financially cheat to get out of the division, cheaters!!
Luton has a beautiful story, you're cheaters
Gonna need a post parade / Vegas follow-up...
red hoodie is gorgeous!

One more year! One more year! One more year!
Donât change the brand name I love it đđ»đđ»â
i know u got the spotify bag but please upload full pods again
Alright Foster, you've got to interview all the lads, and players from other League Two teams, to give us summer content!
" 2 MORE YEARS! 2 MORE YEARS!" đ
Heâs so big headed

short answer money đŽ
Got offered more money
đ°
for the money
Money.
Hope R.R has deep pockets. Bet the wage bills huge with all these players moving down the leagues.
Loving this " human " side. Good luck! Ben......just sign, please.
Be interesting to see what happens when the tv show ends.
SEE SAID WE!! BEN SAID WE WHEN TALKING ABOUT WREXHAM!!
what a pod
love AFC wimbledon. Damn we need him rn
Forgets the part where Wrexham paid him 3 grand a week more than wimbledon. From 2 grand a week to 5 is massive for him
Did he mention anywhere he was playing for free? It said he signed a short-term contract. A CONTRACT. Terms of employment include pay as well. So what's the criticism?
â@@Chris-fh3qvshort term?
And if he failed in non league who's gonna sign a player on 5k a week who performed badly in the fifth tier? Give your head a wobble and take the blinkers off
Yeah, and your point is? Should he be paid less? Fuq off
For sure. But if Wrexham went wrong what what he do when his contract ran out. After 3 years in the National League he could hardly return to League 1 football. Dropping down could have killed his career.
Excuse me sorry.. Ollie Palmer could be playing championship?! Letâs not be silly now đ€Ł
Rob took his team aside to tell them he'd support their side hustles?! Name another owner whos EVER done that. For any professional sport.
Heard of plenty who discourage it, though. Rob and Ryan are showing the world how young athletes should be treated. Turns out they arnt machines to make money on.
Concentrate on the football is true for professionals. Not those on the edge
Nearly 9 minutes to say MOOOOONNNEEEEEEYYYYYY
Money
now 10 months later he is back to league 1 lol
You do realise that Teamviewer do not own Manchester United don't you? In the same way as Ed Sheeran is not the owner of Ipswich Town
money
MONEY
Money mate, we know.
Errrrrrr, Money????
Anyone commenting "money" like its a problem that a money is a factor for a lower league player is being stupid. Their careers are over by mid 30s and they have families to support. Why should money not be a huge factor in their employment decisions.
All tosh. Itâs all about the money
Sure the massive pay rise helped his decision
âYou could play in the championshipâđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł Palmer is absolutely shocking heâs league 2 level best. Just watch the man play heâs poor.
Wasnât for the money then đ
Not completely. If Wrexham stayed in the National League what would he do at the end of his contract. He could hardly be considered for a return to League 1 or Championship football. Wrexham could have ended his career. Whilst had he stayed at Wimbledon he'd likely be a Championship player with the possibility of the Premier league in the next handful of years
Dropped for money
Would you not do the same?
It was a big risk dropping from league 1 to non league. The 3 grand a week helped me alot mind. Its all about cash. Wich is fine but lets not forget to mention that. I actually like what ryan and rob have done. There emotionally invested aswell as financially. That being said its far from and underdog story or a risk đđ
Yeah đ·đ·đ·
SO HOT TOO ^_-
You went for money and because it was ryan Reynolds
Cash âŠ. there you go answered your question đ
Bit of an ego on him.
He is full of himself (Ollie)
The reason anyone jumps to non league from league 1. Is ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ
Or the other way around in the case of Wrexham
Coz they pay more to play at a shite level
Can answer this without watching the video. Money! Simple as that
Full of himself
Not the best guest letâs be fair
These kind of podcasts are well boring
The real answer: money, like the rest of the Wrexham squad
Not everyone can afford to work for free like you must be able to.
@@Mike-dg9ib yeh cause he would have been working for free at a league one club đ€Ą
