One addition. Use a T handle with both hands and a socket, this way pure torque is used, Using a wrench side loads the threads causing more friction that can lead to the weld breaking.

I’ve been wrestling with learning to tig weld. For me it feels like I’m walking a tight rope at times. Nice smooth and steady then the webble wobbles kick in and I have to stop.
That’s a great tip! Worked well.

Excellent job Rob. I've removed quite a few broken fasteners using the same method, although none quite that small.
I also prefer to use TIG (GTAW process) as it is so much more controllable and precise. Like you, I feel I'm a fair welder but like to try things and take my skillset and push it in search of continual learning and refinement.
Thank you for showing the process Rob, great video.

Hi Rob! It is so great to see you making new videos again. And hey, you are anything but an amateur! What I love most about your videos is, you could have the smallest project, need "a" part for it and you'd go right to the CNC, write a program for it and make it! Everyone I've ever known, they wouldn't bother to make anything on the CNC unless they were going to make 50, 100, 200, etc. Thanks again, Rob!

955 That set screw should have a nylon tip to protect the adjuster threads. My big concern is that someone broke the screw in the first place.

That's great. I have removed a lot of broken screws from aerospace electromechanical actuators that presented similarly. Just enough material sticking out to mill a flat, center drill, and then use a left-hand drill bit at a very low RPM so it doesn't pull a chip it just bites. Some argue that the technique doesn't work on small screws but that was never my experience.

Great video Rob I have tubs/ totes ofmisc goodies!,My sons constantly want me pitch them until I come up with a solution to a probke thanks to the bottomless tubs!
I was thinkibg you might use EDM to remove that but I like your solution .
I really like your innovations I am an innovator also
As a 25 yr student I have an idea to share We thought of engine diappers one day in a oil down delay. We still arent sure who was listening but 6 months later Engine diappers wers a ruke!,
    So heres the urrent ones
In view off all spark plugs bliwi g the porclyn center from cylinder pressure spikes Could you not make a cylinder that we screw a plug in one end and a charge of nitrogen at 20k in the other end It would be tedious but you could bat h test a set of plugs
Seco d idea that will requirs development What a out an oil bath Top Fuel clutch? Ide needs work but extreme Heavy equip uses this system
Let me know what you think
