You just saved me so much money! My dealer quoted me $120 to do this plus the cost of the bulbs, found your video and did it myself in 5 minutes!! THANK YOU!!!! I just used regular halogen bulbs though and it was on a 2017 GT.
It didn't take long to change the headlight bulbs I've watched clips of guys taking off the headlights and then change them which doesn't make any sense Struggling with headlight It took me maximum 5 minutes taking old one out in placing new ones Good vid 😄
Someone really needs to post a video showing how to remove the entire headlamp assembly from a 2013 Elantra Gt.(Driver's side) There are literally 100's of videos showing 'how to' for the regular Elantras, but none for the GT model, and as you know they are nothing alike. I think the bumper cover has to be removed on the driver's side. I was actually able to get mine out without removing the bumper cover, but it was one helluva bloody fight. The only reason I even tried to do it without removing the bumper cover was because I watched at least 10 videos (of 2013 Elantras) where the mechanic didn't remove it, and was able to get it out fairly easily.... never realizing that they were different from the GT model. I know exactly how retarded this must sound, but if only person would have said that the GTs are different it would have saved me a lot of time, aggravation, and cut fingers. Thanks
After you added the LED lights to your high beams? Did your daytime running lights work, or how did it affect your daytime running lights? When I had HID bulbs with ballasts the high beams were very very bright, but my daytime running lights did not work at all.
Your HID's did not work because they are not able to be run at such a low voltage. Nearly any LED will be able to run at a lower voltage but some flickering may happen. These worked great as a DRL but had a VERY small flicker at times. They also got brighter with the high beam but not nearly as bright as stock or HID's. Just a trade off between all the options. I am trying to find a better option with more output for high beams but still work as DRL in terms of an LED.
Have you thought about, or have you seen a front tow hook license plate mount for the Elantra gt. I'm interested and I want to know more before I screw up buying one online on my own. I appreciate your videos and I just recently subscribed
Yes I have definitely considered one, especially if I get a new grill so I wont have to drill holes. There are two option that are available specifically for our cars both will be linked below. Appreciate the support! www.rho-plate.com/products/hyundai-elantra-gt-2013-2016-rho-plate-v2 www.ebay.com/itm/For-13-Up-Hyundai-Elantra-GT-Front-Tow-Hook-License-Plate-Relocator-Bracket-/301780971086?hash=item46438c2e4e:g:PvYAAOSwl9BWL~Jf&vxp=mtr
Hey Justin! I just installed these ones on my Elantra GT and they look great! Quick question, would these also work on my hyundai tucson 2017? Thanks man and keep it up!
Hi Justin. I have a 2016 elantra gt.. what brand of led which you recommend currently low beam h11, that allow you to on the dustcap and doesn't cause errors?
Jesse Dawdy You are right. Wonder why they are not available on their site anymore. Well they still sell them through their Ebay store here: rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fp%2F1079259930%3Fiid%3D232027978214
Mr. Worf Exactly the problem. Any bulbs that are NOT plug and play style will not work (that I have found). These are the best H7 I have found through four different pairs.
Justin Kelly Very true !!! I bought a set from Lightbulbs4cars , there not led but do give a white light . There only 65Watts . Guess JDMASTAR should be next !
After waiting almost a month for the gtr ultra series 2 h7s for my high beams (200$ btw) I struggled for literally over 3 hours, pouring sweat all over my car because the fans made them not able to be pushed down by the paper clip, I had to do a makeshift solution using zip ties that made it mostly stable but I’m afraid they’ll melt. Also I lost one of the clips on one side in my engine bay. They also come with a power regulator so putting any dust cover on would be impossible.
Most H7 LED bulbs I have seen allow you to insert a base first and twist in the LED after it is seated by the little metal clip. Basically its two parts to take apart first and then install separate.
Justin Kelly I’ve actually seen a video of something like this being done and I think it’s a sort of adapter. I’m definitely looking into it but it just seriously just be a twist lock like the low beams.
Thank you for the video and I hope you see my comments I have 2015 elantra and im looking for direct fit H7 led bulb my question how bright they are compared to the OEM halogen are they same or lower than oem ??
@@JustinKelly thanks for your reply that really helps because I bought one same yours but different brand and they make really bad interference with radio
Hey Justin sorry to bother you again but I was trying to change out my high beams to led's. The mechanic that worked on my car previously totally messed my clip up that holds the light in the socket do you have any idea where I can find one of these replacements or do I need to go to Hyundai? Thanks once again..😟🙄
Sorry that is something I am unsure of. I would recommend just checking with the parts dept. at the dealer and see what they think. If its something they can get, great! If not next I would try a used parts yard. Wish I could help more!
Justin Kelly I found it when I put the LED's in my fog lights!! Thank you for getting back to me I appreciate it. However, my high beam LED's I bought don't allow me to put the dust cap back on so I had to buy a different pair and I hope they match up..🤞 Do you happen to know anything about when the dust cap doesn't fit on my low beams? I saw the rubber ones on Amazon but I'm not sure I should use those?
Are you running H11's in your low beams? That's what is in my elantra but every led bulb I look up says it does not fit my car which I don't understand. And was you able to remove your driver side headlight assembly? Thanks
Yes I am running H11 low beams but HID's. Just double check that you do have H11 in yoir car and if you do them order H11 bulbs, I dont trust those online systems half the time anyway. I replaced everything while the lights were on the car.
The location for the low beam on my elantra is jammed next to the fuse box! I love my car but its the dumbest design i ever seen in my life. Any ideas on how to get to it?
I have a video were I installed HID's in my low beams. I luckily was able to fit my hand enough to be able to do everything while the light is on the car however you may need to remove the entire headlight to change everything out. I'm not positive but that may require removing the bumper cover.
katieducky23 You can get to it, it’s just a pain! I changed my halogen bulbs for LED bulbs in my low beams for my 2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited with projectors. You have to somewhat get to it from under, not above, and going in from the left side, on the drivers side low beam. It’s tricky, but be patient. The look is so much better.
Scotty Lanes LED's are still not up to standard in terms of comparison to HID bulbs. Many will not project the light in the correct pattern to get good output. Bopefully this will change in the near future! Thanks for watching.
Jeremy Francis My low beams are Kensun 55w 6000k HID's that seemingly got whiter with time. As for the LED's I had in they were just some cheap Amazon ones I found, nothing special and these are MUCH better. I need to update the link for these bulbs as they are now only found on JDMAstars EBay page.
brandon wright These arent meant to be bright enough for high beam but since they run all the time as DRL, it is a good reason to opt for LED over HID in this instance. HID's would be too bright and I am not sure can run at a lower power like these do for DRL.
Are the H7's the low beams or the high beams? I think they're the high beams but I can't remember.🤣 However, I thought you said before that LED's would work just as good as the halogen bulbs and in this video I think you said quite the contrary, I'm not sure?🤔 I've already bought everything you told me to buy I'm just not sure which one goes where.. Thanks again!😊 If you're wondering why I get so confused and I'm forgetful I have stage 4 cancer😖 and had a brain tumor removed and so therefore I have "chemo brain",🧠 as they call it, and my memory has never been the same since the removal of the tumor.🤯 I just don't want you to think I'm an idiot, lol!🙄🤣 I used to do all of these mod's to my car all by myself👏 before 2014 when I was diagnosed and got very sick so now that I'm pretty much back to normal "feeling" I want my car to look good again.😊

Just bought these thanks man! My DRL's have been out for a while and I wanted some nice LED's.

Thank you for making more videos
Bill Harris Stay tuned for more!
Good video ! Have you tried any other LEDs ( H7 ) ? I tried Auxbeam F16's but the heat sync hits the retainer clip and it can't be locked in .
The old bulb that you pull out was an LED too? I didn't work well?
Manuel Bravo Yes it was but it didn't function at all like a high beam bulb. The bew one actually does put out a lot more like as a DRL and high beam.
Does the wire connector have a clip to depress, or does it pull straight off? It is hard to see in the cubby it's jammed into.
+CaretHalfgem The clip that goes into the back of the bulb pulls straight off, no clip. Just clicks into place when you put it back on.
Justin Kelly thank you. It's hard to see and I don't want to break the clip if it needed to be depressed.

Did you need a load resistor to prevent error codes or are these strictly plug and play?
You should put LEDs headlights in your headlights blubs your low beam. And let see your foglighs look like on
I tried LED's in these projectors and they did not output light nearly as well as Halogen or HID bulbs.
Well I got projectors in my car and not put LEDs in their super bright
Thank you for the video and I hope you see my comments I have 2015 elantra and im looking for direct fit H7 led bulb my question how bright they are compared to the OEM halogen are they same or lower than oem ??
Hi how are you
I am going to buy this bulbs and I have same vehicle I just want to know are they make interference with radio. When they on ???
There is no interference with the radio.
@@JustinKelly thanks for your reply that really helps because I bought one same yours but different brand and they make really bad interference with radio
I just put leds in mines they work really well i got bright yellow ones plug n play n i never took off my bumper lol

@Justin Kelly no I tested it and you can get the driver side headlight out without removing the bumper cover just be careful ;)

No but it doesn't require anything other than swapping bulbs. Good if you dont need your high beams much or have HID low beams.
How do you like the LEDS over hids

hey I own a 2014 gt I love it but want to boost it so bad to compete with srt4 and Mazda speeds if any one can give me tips on how to boost this car it's the 2.0l my biggest bump is fuel injectors that can handle at least 8 psi
Gage Rice Search "Boostec Elantra Turbo Kit" Its a kit designed for both 1.8 and 2.0 engines. Sells for $3k.
Gage Rice theirs is nothing you can do to compete with the mp3 or the srt4
I bought the same led for my 2018 Elantra they work the only issue is my dashboard is telling me to check high beam lights how do I fix this
You would need some sort of error cancelor.
These bulbs didn't throw an error code on the dash ?
Nope!
Mine did and I can’t figure it out
So this ones works for both DRL and high beams?
I am wondering the same. If my DRL on my highbeams will still function.
What's code for this product in jdmastar site I can't find it
It is no longer on their site but their Amazon store should have them.
Are there H7 for the High Bean?
For most peope yes its the high beam/DRL. Some people overseas have an H7 low beam but its not very common.
Awesome
what means the world is what they look like on the road not in a garage
lol i just bought new pair of led for my elantra gt but with that bulky ballast
C C They should work but some modifcations will be needed.
thanks for the reply! i also want to know if the led ligtht is good for projector headlamp in elantra GT
Do you have led low beam or hid?
HID
Let's trade elantra s
