- I'm replacing both my halogen low beam headlights with LEDs. They turned out great and light up the road much better! I recommend keeping the old bulb that still works just in case you need a temporary fix for a future burnt out bulb!

One of the best and thorough auto DIY I've ever view. I hope you are, if not, consider teaching at an automotive school. Was able to replace my low beam driver side bulb in less than an hour on my 2016 Elantra. Thanks for your help!
I just replaced my headlights using your video... and then I had to replace the HB/DTR lights. So now I'm just going to replace all of the other lights with LEDs as well. Thanks for the great instructional videos!
Sure thing! Glad I could help!

Nice, detailed video.
Thanks you so much! That is really helpful! Keep up the good work!
Glad it helped! The LED bulbs are still bright and running well. Couldn't recommend more!
Thank you so much sir.
so am back upgraded the whole car. swapped out the low and high beams. took out the old reverse lights to some bright leds. tinted entire windshield. just ordered some luxes matts. 229 for them witg free shipping. all i need is some black on black leather seats. and found a site that can add cooling and heated seats. which is insane
Very cool! I like making custom upgrades and making cars your own design. Keep up the good work!
Good job
Thanks
New LED'S are game changer, but they are loud!
Yes, after a while I noticed the hum in mine are getting a little louder. I only notice if I'm not driving or listening to music for now...
very very good
Absolutely clean and easy to follow video. Can you suggest similar easy product for high beam 2013 elantra?
The headlights I used will work in your 2013 Elantra. Thanks for watching!
Gracias
I tried putting it back apparently I have a small gap on the bottom I’ve done it before and it went back and perfectly, but when I changed the lights and decided to put it back but it didn’t go back in fully
Hello, will that Led low bean headlights be the same for Kia Optima ex 2014? Please advise. I wanted to change mine for a long but I want to be make sure the right Led headlights. Thanks
I believe your vehicle takes an H11b bulb. The Forenner bulbs in my video are H11 (H11a). When shopping for bulbs, you should specify H11b, as the plug in portion of the bulb is different. Thanks for watching!
Me sirve para mi Elantra gls 2013?
Hello! I was wondering did you have to purchase a different housing for you headlights to work with LED bulbs? I've learned before that led bulbs aren't always safest in normal housing if it isn't created for it. Thank you!
I used the stock headlight housing and so far I have had no issues! No burnt molten plastic!
Danke schoen.
Happy I could help!
Buen video.
Thank you I’m going to get mine situated tomorrow. Is it universal sizes with the bolts? The 12 and 10mm? I have a 2016
Yup it should be the same for your 2011-2016 Elantra too!
@@andrewandmeatball followed your video step by step finished in 15 mins. Appreciate you greatly bro.
If you don't mind sharing. Could you please let me know the power (watts) of the LED bulb that you replaced?
Looks like 80 watts. Hope that helps!
Does that white thing light up, I´ve seen some that the white part lights up
It lights up because light shines through it, but there's no bulb or LED strip that powers it. Thanks for watching!
Would you follow this same method if buying new headlights on eBay and replacing them?
Yup, you could follow the steps and replace just the bulbs or you could just unplug the assembly and replace the whole thing with these steps and tools. Thanks for watching!
@@andrewandmeatball Thanks so much, great video by the way!
How is the pattern? I’ve read a lot about replacing halogen bulbs with led and it not being recommended because the halogen housing isn’t compatible. The reflectors being different causes the headlights to blind oncoming drivers. Think you’d be able to post a video of you parked on flat ground in front of a wall or something?
I haven't had any issue with them. As you can see, they fit the headlight housing perfectly, and I didn't have to modify it. I haven't had people flashing their brights at me either so I don't think it's blinding other drivers. Make sure you get H11a bulbs for the Elantra and not H11b. The difference is a 90 degree rotation of the two diode patches so H11b bulbs would really not direct the light through reflectors properly. I'll try to get a picture uploaded for ya!
@@andrewandmeatball appreciate it! It’s probably because your years headlights are reflector style and not projector style headlights like my 2016 Elantra GY don’t work as well with LED headlights as HID. I think I gotta get HID lights for my low beams.
@@Seemyhammer I looked at a couple resources online and they all state that LED bulbs are compatible with projector headlights. Some resources even state "they are a better alternative to HID and halogen bulbs". I have never tried this personally though so I cannot say for certain.
Where did you buy your headlights
Amazon
Why I have bulbs 9005HB3 in my Elantra 2014 limited ??
Someone before you might have installed incorrect bulbs
Sorry my cuestión, the light has position Left or Right.??
I replaced both sides, driver and passenger side. The bulbs can go on either side, they aren't one side specific.
What about the steam light around .
@@eddoll216 the glowing white strip lights up when the headlight is on. It doesn't have its own light source. Good question!
On 2015 limited version low beam it's 9005 bulb
I ordered the H11 bulbs referenced in the video. I went to replace the headlights and found that my 2015 Elantra Sport also has the 9005L+ low beams. This issue should be included in the video.
Wouldn't it look odd with a halogen hi beam and LED low beam ?
Yeah you're exactly right. As soon as one of my halogen high beam bulbs burn out I'm going to replace them with LEDs. Thanks for watching!
Didn’t you have any issues without cambus?
I didn't need to use any extra wiring or in line devices. The Fahren LED bulbs I used are plug and play. They're very bright, they don't flicker, and I don't get engine codes with them. I'd highly recommend!
@@andrewandmeatball thank you, hey last question when a kit says 6000 lm is per bulb or per set (3000lm each)
Why mine is h7
I thought H11 were fog lights? Isn't that too much for regular low beams?
The fog light bulb size for this generation of Elantra is a 881 (I would recommend LED). H11a is the low beam size for sure and my headlights are still going strong months later. Thanks for watching!
@@andrewandmeatball My mistake, I thought the name change was the only difference with this model between the markets, but apparently that's not the case. Seems to be H7 where I live. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the update.. Kindly advise the type of LED for Fog lights on Elantra 2013 since the H11a is meant for Low beam 👌
How many lm does the bulb have?
Not quite sure what you mean by lm... If you mean lumens, I believe they are 24,000 and the color is 6500k.
@@andrewandmeatball got you, very bright 🤭 thank you
Sylvania H7LED will not work for the high beams, they are too tall.
Good to know! Thanks for the info to help out viewers!
Price in Indian currency
I'm choosing to BLIND people by "upgrading" to the bluest light available at specs that any sane municipality would make illegal...
Anything above 4500k should be illegal and really anything above 4000k.
It's not the lumens that hurts peoples eyes most of the time it's the temperature...
Other than that great video...
My car burns through bulbs a lot, and my mechanic told me these Elantras do that. I want brighter, longer lasting bulbs, but I don't want to blind people like I've been blinded by some cars and especially trucks. Can anyone recommend any brands of LEDs that have worked well ? Not ready to spend $100. A pair of Sylvania H11 SilverStar: Halogens are about $50 USD at Advanced Auto. Thanks !!
Speaking from experience, the LEDs that I installed in this video almost a year ago are still going strong without issue. They also level off (if you're not using your brights) to avoid shining too high and blinding oncoming traffic. Thanks for watching!
These Elantra headlights distribute the light throughout the headlight so as not to dazzle. Older cars do get stuck because their headlights are not designed for that function and the light comes directly out.

The head lights is not original
your led bulb is not positioned correctely, you need to rotate it
Hey C1,
As long as you're using H11a bulbs (not H11b) you can't malposition them unless you don't turn clockwise all the way. There are 3 tabs and one is larger to help prevent this issue.
Thank you. Are your lens assemblies new? They are much clearer than mine 🫤
I think they're factory... they've been on there since I've owned the car. A lot of it has to do with sunlight exposure and UV damage. They make kits to clear the haze off! Thanks for watching!
