Those are some great tips. For us more novice builders, how would you fix more pronounced wave mistakes?

Well that’s actually a great question that I’m still working through on this one myself. In my case specifically I might paint the top of that to look more like a rock, then add more water ripples around it. For more subtle ones I’d say just add more water ripples.
