I went to Orkney on my summer holidays last year and was hoping to visit Westray and do this flight, but I only managed to visit Hoy, plus the islands that are connected to the mainland via The Churchill Barriers.

Actually the longest commercial air flight is probably London to Sydney which can take anywhere from 22 hours to 55 hours

My shortest flight is from Harlesiel to Wangerooge, a German island in the North Sea. It's just about 4 minutes in a small airplane and costs about 40€ (or you just take the ferry for less but that takes 1-2 hours in total). Worth it when I was quite unwell though.
