Now THAT is what I call the real thing. It's simply gorgeous, luxurious, sumptuous. The superlatives could go on and on. It's the first time ever that I have heard you say that you did not want to leave the back seat of a car. No, I can understand that. I could snooze happily in that leather, glass and wood cocoon.
Absolutely one of the best looking cars EVER imo,not a bad angle on it inside or out. This may be sacriledge, but I think the best looking of all XJ's,followed by series 1,series 2,series 3,x350,XJ40,with the final, inelegant blingy model firmly in last place.Lovely colour too!
Well, I have done an X300 already on the channel, and we may have a couple more Jaguar XJs to come soon as well. This Daimler was absolutely lovely! Thank you ever so much indeed for watching and commenting.
I recognise those window switches, have them in my new fleet member a mark 5 Escort.... A rather beautifal looking Daimler Sir, the colour the luxury it really suits you Sir.
Very nice Mr. Lloyd and it is something fitting of your position as a car consultant and CZcamsr. 😄 Not quite a beige leather interior but I could put up with it. Perhaps would prefer BRG colour.
It would have been nice to have a full beige leather interior and British Racing Green paintwork, but I think that this will do nicely. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting, sir.
Lovely! 😍 Does it really have just 23,000 miles on the clock? I know what you mean when you say you prefer this over the newer X350. This oozes character and charm. The interior of this Daimler looks very enticing.
Yes, some absolutely crazy mileage! The X350 is a really lovely car, and the one my friend has which I filmed last year was really nice, but I sort of prefer these.
The only teeny tiny qualm I have with such a magnificent vehicle is how the cheap-looking plastic switchgear and dash air vents are placed in that luscious wooden dash. Maybe it’s just me and my OCD but I can’t help thinking they’d be better with at least a chrome ring around them and for the vents have the air direction lever chromed as well. The Rover 75 centre dash air vents also get me for the same reason, even with the post-Project Drive plastic “wooden” dash. It just looks wrong. That aside thank you for another interesting review sir and I hope you managed to stay dry and out of that rain.
It's sort of part of the character with those X308s. They started introducing a few Ford parts to rationalise production and also make the interior look a bit more modern, which wasn't necessarily the case with the old X300's largely still XJ40 derived dashboard architecture....
Lovely car and low miles and no rust what's not to like This could be your ultimate wishlist car for the next one in the fleet if you can get over the mpg
Good Evening Sir, I have to say I don’t think What Car or Top Gear ever considered the Daimler 308 vs Vauxhall Chevette comparison. A missed opportunity maybe!!😊
A Volvo T5 with beige leather as the workhorse in the week with an equally beige Daimler LWB for the weekends would suit your gentlemanly aesthetic marvellously sir!
They will never make cars like that ever again, lovely, good to see one kept so well,
They do have some very nice cars at the museum, sir, that is for sure.

Sir, you just want to be the Mayor, don't you? Then, you can spend as much time resting in the back seat as you like!

Thank you for this video. Great exotic! We did have these in New Zealand, but not many.
It's a very rare variant of the car these days.
Excellent review Mr Lloyd, definitely all the appurtenance of gracious living, one could possibly need for a luxury classic car.
Sir, we did enjoy ourselves very much this time.
@lloydvehicleconsulting
Hopefully, you'll be able to sample an XJ40 at some point and other remaining XJ series cars, A Jaguar XJ does suit you.
Sir, we do enjoy a bit of luxury on this channel, don't we?
I recognise those window switches, have them in my new fleet member a mark 5 Escort....

Sir, sadly, we are unable to discuss said Escort on the channel, as you well know....

A proper motor car , the likes of will never be seen again .
Did you find it a rather agreeable car, sir?
@@lloydvehicleconsulting I did sir , shame about the Ford bits .
@@richardhowlett7398 , it's all part of the experience, sir.

Yes, it's rare for an LWB X308 not to be rusty these days. The fuel economy is appalling, but we did enjoy ourselves very much.
Good Evening Sir, I have to say I don’t think What Car or Top Gear ever considered the Daimler 308 vs Vauxhall Chevette comparison. A missed opportunity maybe!!😊
Sir, we go further than anyone else to make the comparisons that no one else thought to make....

A recipe for enormously high fuel consumption and many potential luxury car problems, sir.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting but with such flair and style!
@@TommyRogic18 , and imminent bankruptcy, sir....
Was the V8 by then still a Jaguar design or did it have Ford input?
Jaguar developed it themselves, but this was under the ownership of Ford.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting Thank you. 🙂

Well done, sir!
