    Hi Laura, another informative video articulately explained through the eyes of someone with first hand knowledge. Although I have never lived in another country I too have experience with reverse culture shock. Most of my life have I worked for a major U.S. airline so I have had the great opportunity to spend time in many European countries and points beyond. Plus I’m the grandson of European immigrants, and last but not least for 18 years married to an American girl who grew up and educated in France. I was also-blessed to have been a host parent of a European exchange student. Needless to say I am very familiar with everything you say on this subject.
    Thank your for sharing your personal experience. It will be a very helpful preparation for future exchange students. Although it can be awkward at times it is definitely one of the best ways of expanding one’s horizons. For me it was simple things like holding a knife and fork 😂. All the best and keep up the good work. 😀🇺🇸🇩🇪

    Laura! Guten Tag!! So Laura...when you went back to Germany were there any aspects of US culture that you wished Germans would adopt?

    Hi! Idk if you still active but since I’m questioning myself I'll leave a comment. I’m kinda anxious about going back in my country cuz I have good memories about how my family dynamic/life was but I perfectly know that he wont never be the same it’s really disturbing… do u have anymore advice?

    Hi, could you please make a video on how to effectively stay in touch with your friends in your US and not lose contact over time?

    • @honey27003
      @honey27003  Před 2 lety

      Hi, of course! Do you mean staying in touch with your friends while you're on exchange or staying in touch with Americans after you leave?

    European in the US: OMG they don't watch soccer. Jesus Christ, they don't even watch the World Cup. 😅😂 (This is my assumption. I don't really know. Besides this year the US and Canada are going to the World Cup, so I guess they'll watch it 😅.)

    • @honey27003

      Soccer is really a much bigger thing in Europe than in the US. They are more occupied with football, basketball and baseball (and in some parts hockey)
