    "For if Christ be not risen, we are to be pitied above all men...." If there was no physical resurrection then there is no Christianity.

    Another example of a "Christian" leader making the work of Christ our Lord of no avail to the sheep he is called to feed. God help him!
    Thank out Chris for continuing your pirate ways and pointing out the horrendous error so many are proclaiming in the name of our Lord and Savior. Ever since I've been watching your CZcamss my eyes have been opened to the rank deception in the church in these last days. Thank you again!

    Really shocking. The 'inner vision' idea simply panders to doubters of a different stripe from Thomas.

    Exchanging the truth of God for a lie.

  • @anchorofgracedevotionals2239

    Very simple. Paul lays it out explicitly. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus AND believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved. Thus this "pastor" CANNOT be saved unless he believes in the physical resurrection.

    It appears that if the word appear doesn’t appear then apparently Scott needs to repent for teaching the word incorrectly.

    It apparently appears that Scott through his appearance has appeared to have missed the word appear in the text. It would also appear that his shepherds collar appears to be neatly pressed and it appears it's never been tugged on. Oh apparently.

    This is why Christians have to be so careful with definitions. Even if a teacher says they believe in the resurrection of Christ, if they don’t believe it was bodily, physical, they aren’t Christian, plain and simple, and Christian churches should have no fellowship with them.

    Thanks for another great video Chris. I am just curious about the word "come" that is before the word "stood." In Strongs concordance the original Greek meaning for "come" can mean make an appearance or to appear. Of course in no way does it mean, to appear as an apparition.. Here is the Blue Letter Bible reference where I got this from www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=G2064&t=NLT Sad that anyone would alter the meaning of God's Word so badly they're claiming Jesus didn't resurrect bodily. He even ate with them. Thanks again! Love your videos.

  • @jhowe5571
    @jhowe5571 Před 6 lety +2

    He really misquoted John 20:25!!!! Scott McKenna quoted the first three words of Thomas, "Unless I see" However, here's the whole verse...
    So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” Then, he does quote almost all of vs 26-28. And you're right, until he begins misusing definitions with the word, "appear" he did ok, not great but ok. It would be the lack of the full verse of John 20:25 that would have sparked me to paying close attention to what he was saying to be sure what he says is biblical and true. A spirit does not have flesh and bones... So obvious, I wonder if I'd have the guts to stand up and try to correct him, if I were in the audience... Thanks Chris, for another informative vid. :-)

    He reminds me of the watch or one of the Pharises. When the body was gone the pharises told the watch to tell Pilate the disciples came and took the body when they were asleep. Then they were told by the pharises to go tel what they were taught not told!

    I guess Scott McKenna was thinking about John 21:1, where the word for "appear" (phaneroo) does appear. (However, the word still does not refer to an "inner vision".)

    So he does not beleive in the witness of them seeing Him go up to Heaven ?wow,this guy needs to step down.shame to any one in his congregation who agrees with him,they should be knowledgeable of scripture.this is what happens when a beleiver does not read the Word

  • @brothergordongrahame6378

    Although I agree that this man is way off - the root word is not “stood” but “came” which is erchomai in the Greek interpreted as -
    to come
    of persons
    to come from one place to another, and used both of persons arriving and of those returning
    to appear, make one's appearance, come before the public
    metaph.
    to come into being, arise, come forth, show itself, find place or influence
    be established, become known, to come (fall) into or unto
    to go, to follow one
    I think the point is that Scott does a lot of etymological gymnastics to prove his point - the correct reading would be that Christ appeared there as if from nowhere but the subsequent testing that he offers Thomas is to show that he is in fact real and no apparition

  • @MrGummbum
    @MrGummbum Před 6 lety +1

    It seems he is zooming in on the word "erchomai" G2064, which can mean appear. KJV translates it "came". So McKenna should be saying Jesus appeared and stood, but he is just saying He appeared like an apparition. In fact, "appear" is among the least common translations of 291 occurrences in the Greek New Testament.

      Jeremy C Barnhart, yes, not surprising. McKenna is a wolf. Here is a 17 min. sermon, well worth a watch as an example of gross error. He has a wide open third-way church, his gospel mashes all religions together. It is essentially Christless. Ecumenism to the max, 1000X more egregious than Chrislam. plus.google.com/111777449484690266987/posts/aH22gHRJE4y

    I know I'm a little late on this, but I just had to check different translations to see if "appeared" is used in John 20:19... it is used in "The Passion Translation" - But suddenly Jesus appeared among them and said, “Peace to you!”. lol, if you need another reason not to read the passion bible. Thanks for the video!

    After hearing this dry sermon and feel good stuff many churches are preaching do we really need churches at all ?

    • @Fighting4theFaith
      @Fighting4theFaith  Před 6 lety +5

      The church is not a building. The church is the people. And scripture explicitly instructs Christians (the church) to not neglect to meet together: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:23-25)
      We gather as the church to hear God's word (rightly taught) and receive the sacraments.

  • @patriciamccool5243
    @patriciamccool5243 Před 4 lety

    And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 1 Cor. 5:14
    So basically what is the point of preaching at all. He should shut down the church, eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.
