None of the key biblical figures ever “positioned” themselves to have an encounter with God. Yeah, try telling that to the Apostle Paul who was struck down off of his horse and blinded by Jesus while on his way to persecute the church. He sure prepared himself for that. Thank you for this video and for exposing these teachers, Chris.

Can't tell you how much I look forward to your videos! After being in Catholicism, Baptist, spirit-filled (many variants of this), and now back in the baptist church, I find there is much I do not know as far as doctrine and theology, and properly reading the Word of God. Knowing this more than ok, is also a huge burden that has been taken off of me as well. I learn something new each time and am "un-learning" a lot of the man-made doctrines that have been taught to me over the years. Thanks for all you do and keep Fighting for the Faith! :)

This is wild. I have always just come to Jesus humbly in prayer and thoughfully and humbly to the Scriptures. I grow closer to God by knowing the Scriptures and by the grace of Christ. When you dwell in Scripture and walk with Jesus when you encounter a problem and seek answers in Scripture and prayer God communicates. When you land on the answers while reading and praying one just "knows" that you have received God's instruction. He doesn't zap answers down from heaven and the "communication" of the Old Testament and the New Testament beyond Jesus's witnessed resurrection is different. The reason it is different is because we are told after resurrection to seek God through Jesus and His Living Word. People who teach like this guy make people who look to him for teaching just makes people discouraged, angry and faithless when they don't see burning bushes or hear God's audible voice like a sports announcer. This makes me sad that so many are being led away.😪

Everytime i read the Living Word of God i have an encounter with God. Now this is not feeling based or glory clouds or any other type of expectation. My encounters are faith based. To trust God and His Word and not "feel" anything are my greatest experiences. When i don't "feel" His presence and still lift my hands and worship and trust that He will provide pleases our Father more than any other "encounter" we could have with Him!! When these groups like the NAR seek physical manifestations they are setting themselves up for a potential demonic "encounter" for example the shaking and wailing and laughing encounters i believe are Hindu deceptions in disguise. Remember satan knows how to make you "feel" good and this is the trap...especially if we do not understand the role of the Holy Spirit and His ability to inoculate us from deceptive "encounters".

Overall good, and usually I don’t disagree with a point, but actually, the “gods” the pagans like Baal, Dagon, or Zeus, DO exist. However, they are NOT gods, but FALLEN ANGELS who posed as gods. Fallen angels are not the same as demons; angelic beings have bodies of their own which are more physical than we are, knowing more than just the 3-dimensions which we perceive. Thus, as interdimensional beings, they easily duped the pagans into worshipping them as gods.

Kyradrin The apostle Paul clearly says to the church at Corinth, “The things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to DEVILS and not to God,” overtly calling the gods of the ancients fallen angels. Also, read over the 10 commandments, one commandment being “Thou shalt not have any other gods before Me,” and a separate commandment being, “Thou shalt not make for thyself any graven image,” thus distinguishing pagan gods from mere idols. Furthermore, you can read of the goings-on of the fallen angels before the Flood in Genesis 6 in which they raped human women and had hybrid children by them, thus giving us the stories of Zeus and Leta, Apollo and his human lover, etc, etc. The ancient mythologies are the remains of primitive truth corrupted in transmission. The true, historical account is found in the Bible regarding the true identity of the so-called “gods” of the ancients.

My "brother" turned from fundamental baptist to charismatic, because he got prayed over and layed hands upon, in a prayer for God's fire to baptise Him. In Hoc Signo Vinces When Jesus said He would baptize with fire, this means He will judge people with fire, which is eternal torment in hell. John the Baptist said Jesus will baptize with the Holy Spirit AND fire. One is for believers, the other is for unbelievers.
Feelings or experiences do not dictate truth. Feelings can deceive, and experiences can do likewise. Not so with the Bible, which is objective, perfect, external revelation from God.

    • @TGBahr
      @TGBahr Před 6 lety

PaulSterling Experience is all we can rely on, in a cautious manner. Always being aware that our experience only gives us as much insight as the experience is intended to reveal. Certainly the prophets and the apostles were very sure of the clarity of their experiences, but as you've pointed out, experience can be deceiving. It is however the only source we can truly, if cautiously, rely on, in our pursuit of truths.

In Hoc Signo Vinces Because that was for the purpose of revelation, which is complete and preserved for us in the Scriptures. The signs and gifts that accompanied those men have long ceased, and now we have the more sure and more perfect Word of God.
“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.”
      ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭1:1-2‬ ‭
The Apostle Peter saw Jesus Christ in His transfiguration. He saw Him literally shedding His humanity aside for a moment, and He beheld some of His divine glory. Yet Peter said that the Bible is more trustworthy than his experience was. That is how sure the Bible is, that is the level of truthfulness it possesses. To belittle this is the height of ungratefulness toward God.
“For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased," we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
      ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:17-21

Where in the bible does it say that there are apostles and prophets today?
When you answer that, think and consider what apostles and prophets were, what was their function chronologically in the advancement of the gospel.
"In 1 Corinthians 12:28, Paul says, “God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers.” That statement adds weight not only to the idea of divine calling but also to the chronological significance (“first, … second, … third”) in the giving of these gifted men to the church."

I think the problem I am having is that everyone and anyone today can claim to be a prophet or apostle. There are schools teaching how to be one and for $300 you can be one too. You will get a nice certificate to prove it. If you search on you tube any day of the week "prophecy for today" there will be hundreds of so called prophets giving a word just for you for today. Of course every word for that day will be conflicting. It really is nonsense. None of them mention repentance. Isn't that what prophets in the bible did? If these guys really believed what they say is from God they would call people to repentance, preach the gospel and plead for people to listen. I think it is just a money making business. It is profitable to have the title prophet or apostle.

I do however have had experiences which I would classify as spiritual and supernatural, which led me to believe in Jesus to begin with. But now I doubt these experiences (dreams, remarkable synchronicities, temporary heart change) for reasons that are very difficult to describe. I'm sure there is one God, but I'm very uncertain that I can truly know Him and His will. All there is left for me, is to pray and beg Him to lead me through my mind, intuition and heart.

In Hoc Signo Vinces You claim to believe in Jesus yet you judge and reject one of the very books He quoted from, Genesis.
I would like to know your presuppositions when approaching the book of Genesis. Have you been taught that the big bang and evolution are real, and therefore you stand over Genesis judging the very words of God as "nonsense"? Do you think it has contradictions, or that it is not "scientific" enough?
I'd like to know the prejudices you approach Genesis with, I'm trying to help.
You cannot know God apart from His perfect, inerrant Word, the Bible. If you try and be led by your mind, you should know the Bible commands us to renew our wicked minds (Romans 12:2), so being guided by your fallen and sinful mind will be no good. You should know the Bible says the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things, so much that no one can understand it (Jeremiah 17:9). And last, you should know that intuition has led many to believe that God is speaking to them while in reality it is no one but Satan, examples: Joseph Smith, Muhammad, Ellen White, Montanus, Benny Hinn, etc. All those are either cult leaders or false religions.
You cannot have a relationship with God when you call His written Word "nonsense", you will not get to know Him outside of the Bible. Repent from judging the Bible, for standing above it and saying what is true and what isn't about it. Read Psalm 19 please.
