You're testing shows why I enjoy using the simplex as it was the only detector there that told you through the sound that the pull tab target was not something you wanted to dig. Anything that contains iron or aluminum in it the simplex will give you a very different sound then a good Target. That makes it much easier when you're deciding if that nickel is really a pull-tab or not. Also you noticed that the nokta models gave a higher tone and vdi score with silver coins than with regular coins making it easier to identify silver, something the minelab's don't do. Great test.
Can't argue that.... We have a good well rounded variety of detectors to choose from...sometimes it is hard to decide... none are a bad decision
Really enjoyed this one. Glad you included the numbers each of the detectors showed.
Thanks... hopefully it is helpful
Wonderful array of machine tests. Great information and educational as well. Thanks for the demonstrations.
Thanks Gary...btw, off to Sac in a couple days. Wish you were there
Hey guys, that was a great test you did, I thought the machines worked pretty well. That video was informative in case I want to change up my machine. Great to see you both. Take care, looking forward to the next video.
Thanks Dawn... I will have to work on one for depth soon.
Great comparison! Im glad you added in the Vanquish since thats what I have. Love the sweater Christine!
Outstanding video! We use the Vanquish 340 and 540 and you are right on the money. Excellent tutorial for the new hunters out there!
Thanks.... hope you are finding awesome treasures there!!!
Another great video from the duo, Bill and Christine. The two of you always make it click... Yeah 🙃
Thank u mucho
Thank you both! That was an outstanding educational show. You have a great assortment of detectors. Christine I am so glad you are with Bill on all of this. You bring such an uplifting sense of humor to it. You would make an excellent actress. You could be the next marvel superhero! Again, thanks guys.
She would crush Thanos with one orange shoe!
Nice... she should be in movies.... maybe silent ones...lol Thanks it was fun testing the detecrtors
Great idea to test machines and targets. Hope you two have a great weekend. Burritos and cupcakes for Christine....
Thanks Nora... Christine is finally off for a couple days but it is solid rain so we are stuck inside.... yuk
@@DigginSoCal I am also stuck inside because I have 15 inches of snow on my lawn. Your weather is supposed to head my way and will become another snow storm. At least Christine has some days off...
Beautiful machines. Christine, can’t wait to see you a year from now, your knowledge and skills have elevated tremendously. Keep putting out great content and be safe. The Vegas video had me concern. Peace ✌🏽
Thank you Bill and Christine for the video and information about the detector. It was great to see both of you. I am glad that my suggestion was helpful.
Great test and validation. First thing I did with my Vanquish was a VDI test. Everything from a pull tab and rusty ground cover peg to Silver Dollars and an 1800's $25.00 gold piece.
Smart... it is good to get a rough idea of what targets sound like and the VDI numbers. Gold is so random
Hi Bill and Christine. Just wanted to let you know that CZcams is not showing me any of your new shows the last one I received is when you were doing the depth test on the manticore.
Nice test guys. It’s nice to see green grass. Looking forward to the spring up here in Canada.
Fantastic comparison. Great help when looking for a new detector.
Hopefully helpful
Thank You for taking your time for the video. Very informative !!!!
Thank you both for this video! Very informative!!! 🎉❤
Thanks Donna.
Wow nice gadgets..
Wish to have one ,one day..
Love bless Bill and Christine
Good morning guys! I get up at 6am every morning. I may have to set my alarm a few minutes earlier when you upload, so I won’t be five minutes behind when I check my notifications 😁
Sweet... thank you
Morning Bill and Christine. Looks like it's going to be a pretty day there. It's raining here in Arkansas.
We just had a storm roll in....solid rain for 3 days....
These informative videos are how I found you guys. Thank you!
Awesome... thank you for watching
Good job, Bill and Christine!! I have a Whites MXT, and ran similar tests in my yard to get a good idea of vdi numbers. While I try to dig each target I'm always perplexed by how the similarity of nickels/pull tabs. With much testing, as you just did, I think I've got it figured out. Detecting is so much fun for me. I've been fortunate to find several old coins in the course of my detecting. Bless you guys and good hunting!!
Thanks for sharing IDs for each target!
Love that Vanquish.
We agree
With all this rain we’ve been getting, you may be able to cut your plugs with your finger, Bill! 😂. Appreciate the testing…I’m starting to forget what a nice blue sky with 70’s temps is like….❄️
Love your videos...thanks for all of the information.
You are welcome Debbie... thanks for watching
Good morning guys Christine you got a 99% !! have a good one guys. Enjoy your day.
Hi Christine and Bill, just what I needed to cheer me up. Great information, I liked the targets you chose to test. I don't have a metal detector yet but some day and you will have provided me all the information I need to get started. Christine earned her Cupcake reward for the excellent test results. Ok Bill you can get a reward the setup. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the next one👍
Good info in a fun way. Thanks
You are welcome Tim...thanks for watching
Very helpful video. Thanks for sharing. You guys are awesome
Good vid, as always. Christine looks great, as always.
Maybe do a `old v new`?
I`m thinking the kind of detector from the 70s or 80s ( the ones that looked like a rectangle box hanging off a stick, with coil)...if you could find one.
I`ve got a Minelabs Go-find 40 I bought about 5 yrs ago, which is a model or 2 below the cheap Minelabs you reviewed a few months ago.
I think the only real difference is mine has one less discrimination setting? I found it finds stuff, is reasonable with depth, but has no idea what it`s looking at.
You mentioned in your cheap minelabs review it feels very `plasticy..`..thats true. If I`m too vigorous with extending the under fore arm bit,i it comes straight off.
That would be an interesting idea... gotta hit some garage sales... you never know what you will find. True about it feeling a bit flimsy but getting out and detecting with any machine is better than not....
Love it, thanks for the info!
you are welcome
I wish you would do one for bounty 2200, I was lent one and I find it very confusing. Nice finds field
I know you said this, but I would like to see the larger coil on the legend. Thanks for sharing the info..
For sure... gonna put it back on. We will use it when we go for depth...
Hi guys great to see the both of you keep up the good work
Thanks for sharing
The Gold targets have a total different sound then the pull tab, penny, nickel, dime and quarters. Something I would listen for if I were metal detecting.
Nice, thanks for sharing
You are welcome
For the Cupcake test Bill Plant some finds at different depth and depending on how many Christine gets right earns points closer to a cupcake or Two. Or Put something under the box have her swing over it and if she guesses right she gets the cupcake. This was a fantastic test. Keep Up the Awesomeness.. Peace
Great plan.... I was also thinking of having her guess the target based on the VDI....
Awesome video guys
Great informative video
What was the depth of the finds and would that change the numbers on the different machines
Ty again enjoyed it
Some targets can be affected by depth position and conditions but most are pretty solid. For example, I can pick out a quarter on the NOX regardless of depth... always around a 30. All these targets were about 2-3 inches under the plug
I use a 540 thanks for the live info
You are welcome...nice detector and simple to use.
nice research...thank you....
You are welcome
I like all your video’s you have all that detector’s
Thanks...yeah, we have developed quite the collection
Nice
Thanks
I’ve watch so much videos on the manticore and all I’m getting is it’s a great iron finder..
Excellent work! We really enjoy your videos! Have you ever reviewed the Minelab E-Trac detector? I would love to know your expert opinion! Have a great day!
Thanks...I don't know about expert but that would be a good one to try
One of those thin silver snd gold necklaces would be nice to try. I found both last year with the Minelab but not due to a good hit. Just lucky I did not pass them by for both of them seemed weak and broken up signals. Got to dig it all
Yes, that would be a real challenge. I have struggled with chains...
its nice what you guys did bout no challenge for the detectors lol nice
True...more for fun and our own experience. Nice to share though...I am sure it was still helpful for some
Idid learn something 2 some of the tones I don’t dig and I’m missing so many things boo for now on I will lol 😂 saludos amigos 👍👍👍👍
Add the tesoro to that mix next time… lol!!! Would be interesting to see if it could hit the targets as well
Sounds good. Will probably add the AT Pro as well. thanks
Amazing
Thanks Andy
Morning Christine and Bill,
Thank you for the video.
Which detector have you had the longest and do you remember a piece of jewellery you found with each detector?
I believe we got the Equinox first and the Vanquish second. I have a pretty good memory and when I look at some of our finds I can usually remember where I found it. I hunt mainly with the NOX so most of my good finds have been with it.
Great info
Thanks Bill and Christine. Christine, which park mode was you in with the Simplex?
Yes...park 1 and you are welcome
Guess I miss a other live video darn it ☺️
It was not actually live... you are good.
Maybe a Garrett AT Pro vs the 800 test ? Looks like (free) paint sticks used for markers ?? LOL
Ha. 1.99 for a pack of 10
@@DigginSoCal Just ask at Home Depot next test ...they are free !!
That's weird that the nokta legend about the same for zinc and copper penny and the simplex was higher on a zinc?? I'm puzzled and the wheatie was a 42 on legend.
I've been thinking about a legend even though I can't stand my nokta dive pinpointer. Now the more videos I watch on the legend are just more confusing.
This was a great video though. Thumbs up as usual.
Pozdrawiam Serdecznie :) :)
Try that lg 30 coil, they say it works great
Is it a sign of being addicted to the hunt when you go out to a Park and do digs in grass, but when you pop up your plug the hole fills with water ?
Yikes... must be a pretty soggy place... but yes... like the mailman or woman... in all weather we go
Hi kids - another beautiful day for detector fun, huh?
Yes... was a nice day unlike now with the storms passing thru...
I am only minutes into this Saturdays best entertainment. I am in tears! Christine, you must have taken your "snappy" pills this morning. No ,I didn't smoke a fatty. You are one very wiity woman. Or, waite a minute ........... did you write those lines before hand! Thanks again.
Hi Christine, do you work nights and what kind of work do you do? Just curious.
👍
They all worked just fine 😂
Hello Bill and Christine
Morning Gregory
What's the approximate price of each detector? Which one is good for a newbee?
Hum. There are plenty of options. You can email me at bill@digginsocal.com and let me know what type of locations you hunt. That would help give a recommendation
I have an X-terra, so I'm just here to watch Vanna.
Oh my. Christine is laughing.
No Garrett machines you do not like them?
I only have the AT Pro and it was acting up last time I had it out. We will pull it out and play with it again. I sent my Ace Apex to a friend who had one but it was not working.
Do you have to ground balance every time you go out to detect?
Depends on the detector. For most we do. The vanquish for example does not require a ground balance. I will even ground balance when I get to a new location on the same day. I end up doing a ground balance many times in a single day. It will still find targets but I want to make sure it is right for the spot I am hunting.
Christine, pretty blue sweater.
simplex seems to hit gold well?
It did great. Very solid
Christine, go for good shortbread cookies if you love Twix
How about showing the screen?
oh come on.... once you start the Abbott and Costello routine, you gotta finish it :)
Lol. Ok. We will have to try again.
get yourself the LG 24 coil for the legend. You can thank me later!!!
I actually did get one. I also got a second lower shaft so I can just slide out the shaft and connect the different coils without having to switch coils... much faster but overkill...lol
I don't know is on third. Lol!😃🥰
LOL... that was such a funny skit
It definitely was.
Hello Bill and Christine, thinking about buying the simplex plus looks like a different coil on your test machine would there be a difference on the reading?
Bagging them all makes for a better test. Everything the same.
An I also use Garret at max you guys have a great day 🙂
