I love going into the registry and making changes to suit my needs. I remember people always telling me as i went through my travels through the IT sphere, "Do EVER go into the registry as you'll break the OS!" Since i was always the type of person to NEVER listen to anyone, i went into the registry and broke my OS! BUT...as i got older and much wiser, i learned how to comfortably go into the registry and i've never looked back. I think the biggest problems people have is that they confuse zeros with the letter O. As you mentioned in the video, if you change one single character, you can easily break the system. And the last hack was the best btw.

When editing the registry I have found it useful to just type the first letter and let it jump down close to what you are looking for. Example type "S" to get close to search setting and then use the down arrow to get the rest of the way. This works globally throughout Windows (ie. Explorer, Word...) Also right and left arrows work to expand and colapse branches.

Thank you! The larger taskbar and restoration of the old, functional context menu helps make the clunky Windows 11 UI much better!
I recently got a TPM daughter board to plug into my old Intel X99 based motherboard, after the price dropped substantially - just to see if it would give me the option of upgrading to Windows 11. Even after installing this I was disappointed to see that the compatibility checker still said my system wasn't ready for Windows 11 because it didn't like my i7-5820k CPU (6 cores, 12 threads, clocked at 3.3GHZ - so what's not to like?). I was then surprised a few days later when Windows Update decided to upgrade me to Windows 11 all by itself, which (thank God!) it did successfully. It even kept all my existing applications working perfectly too, stuff like my media server, FTP server, web server, and home security camera hub - stuff that would have been a pain if I'd had to set it up all over again.
The main thing I've been very disappointed about in Windows 11 is how clunky and worse Microsoft's desktop UI has become! I really miss the Cortana/Search textbox on the task bar (without having to pop-up huge menus that I don't want to see), so hope they'll provide some user options for adding it back in.
Even before my Win-10 system upgraded itself, I have used "Classic Shell" for my desktop UI for years. After Windows 11 installed , I was happy to see that its Windows 7 style "Start" button and menus all still worked perfectly - even while the native Windows 11 "Start" button also appeared in the middle of the task bar and worked as well. Maybe someday Microsoft's UI team will create something worth using, but as Windows Vista, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11's horrible desktop UI 's show - they clearly aren't very good at this!

When you're navigating the Registry, you can reduce the scrolling about for keys, by typing the first letter of their names. If you're a fast enough typist and you manage to hit the second and third letters, too, you'll get to the very key you want, not just its neighborhood.

It would be nice to make it the default. Microsloth fixed it so that the registry fix no longer does it any more. One good idea would be to put all that minimalistic crap on a special mode for tablets that we can turn on or off at any time. We would be able to choose a classic or tablet mode if they did what I was thinking of. Instead they just want to make annoying changes and continually block us from undoing them. I am just glad I was able to install Windows 10 on my laptop that came with 11 by default. It worked flawlessly for me and all I had to do was make installation media. Of course there are other things that need fixing in Windows 11 but have existed in 10. They are both similar in some ways.

Hi there. I always wonder why not place a link to a .reg file with all the "hacks" in there? Could be a gist on GitHub or something... How much easier and error-free would it be for people to apply (or choose) what they want from the file instead of kind of forcing them to copy manually what's being shown on in the vid?

At 11:43, after entering OK, and restore Explorer...it changes the Registry entry back to 03. Yes I know what I'm doing since I've worked with the Registry back to Windoz 98 SE. My Win 11 23H2 refuses to flip that bit ! All the other Mods worked fine. I need you feedback on this! Win update: as of Jul 31, 2024

I like them all, apart from the one where you shifted the taskbar which is why I didn't use that one

One thing you should also do besides making a restore point is export the registry in case you mess up then you can import it back

Nice video. However I refuse to use windows 11 (I think its crap, to many good things remove or bad things added). How about doing the same video for windows 10 and using NTLite (which was also a great video) cheers

As far as this method versus the ISO method using NT Lite, will theses settings be changed back as or when Windows updates? I only want to change the Logo and Background Screen and not mess with too much debloating with the ISO method to make it faster to load more PCs. What do you recommend? Love your channel and appreciate your knowledge.

Is it possible for you to make a video on the write-caching option on and off, as well as bench marks on the performance between the two?

I have one more question, I really like the weather icon at the bottom left of the taskbar. But I hate the other widgets like news, roadblocks ect. Is there a way to display only the weather?

Using win11 pro... 5.) ~Move the taskbar~ doesn't do anything on my end. However, the (Bonus) ~Restore context menu~ did work as expected. Edited registry and not group policy.
