Wow lego dimensions you have Sonic which is awesome because I have Sonic to and he's amazing I'm probably just going to get the NFC card chip for robo I'm probably just going to get the key card chip for ro-bow because he's so expensive I already got my wild Storm.

This is literally a dream come true I'm so glad I found this. It wouldn't work for me originally after buying both items in the description and installing mifare and the drivers but thanks to your discord I ended up trying with the latest version of mifare and it works!
Yeah, I understand these can be difficult to get working, but the discord server is literally so good, I love the people who are there to help, they know way more than me lol

W tutorial, straightforward and effective. One question though, how did you print designs on the cards? Or was it just a simple paper print taped on the card
Yeah I'd just print it out on a regular piece of paper and tape it. Don't need anything too fancy

how would these work with skylanders trap team traps tho? would u just put the card with the trap on the portal next to ur figure or figure card (aka would it be used in the same way a normal nfc character card would work)?
Yep you're exactly right. You can put them right on the portal itself, or even sometimes laying on top of the trap slot!
Hi, I'm from Europe so Amazon costs a lot in Shipping so I want to buy the nfc reader and cards from a local marketplace. Does it have to pe a certain kind of reader or the cards need to be special (maybe you need something premium to be able to rewrite idk)?
Just search for a reader with the exact same name that looks similar, it should hopefully work. As for cards, it needs to be block 0 writeable. There's definitely other options out there, but the cards in the description are the only ones i've used and can 100% confirm work.

Thanks for the tutorial! I do have a question, how do traps work on nfc cards, because your normally just put the trap in the trap hole in the portal, but cards dont fit in there
Yeah I wanted to ask the same question
here’s a fun fact: you don’t need to put them in the slot, they work normally if you just lay them on the portal. i dunno how traps do that but it’s possible which also means nfc cards for traps are able to work properly. edit: just to make sure you don’t get confused, no, you don’t need to do a glitch, no, you don’t need to put the trap at a certain angle, just lay it on the portal and then it just starts working.

You don't need to try to put the cards in the trap slot, they'll work just fine laying on the portal.

I loved the tutorial and I've already subscribed to your Discord. Yes, I want a Lego Dimensions tutorial as it will be my next game. I still don't know anything about how to record Lego, so the tutorial needs to include what type of tag to use, if it is possible to use the same Skylanders recorder to record Lego, etc...
A cheaper thing to do though is to buy just the bases
I've been recently thinking of trying to go back and play trap team, which I was really young and never truly experienced. But my dad got rid of all our skylanders stuff (portal, Traps, and traptanium warrior people) but we still have the disc. This will really help with the skylanders themselves. But I'm thinking of buying some Traps, casting in silicon, and using rising to make other Traps (colors) do Traps use NFC or color sensors
that's pretty cool! traps are pretty cheap though, maks sure you don't spend more than it's worth just to make your own!

Im glad you appreciate it! I'm not familiar with options available outside of the US, I simply linked the ones I use and can confirm work. I wouldn’t be surprised if you can find ones that work, just be sure of what you buy.

Hey, there’s a problem with mine. It refuses to load all 64 blocks it only loads 63. How do I fix that?
I second this. I had great luck with the cards that came with the reader but began having problems when I started using the cards you linked. Now I have lots of errors or the 63/64 problem.

I really did like this video And I really like the steps that you did thanks For doing that, and I'll actually love to get a tutorial on the lego. Dimension I only have the characters that are from the box. I don't have anymore Characters for the game. And I Had it since 2018 for Christmas. Awesome, just ordered the required items.
I sold my skylanders off a long time ago and was itching to play it again without having to spend a crazy amount of cash.
All I had to do is buy the game, portal, scanner, and the cards. 60 bucks total to be able to experience the game fully.

(I prefer figures than a card) and also (i have no pc or laptop yet)
I got the 20 pack and the 100 pack from the description with the reader and writer. The pack of 20 had a portion of the UID/0 Block locked, but I got them to work with TheSkyLib. The 100 pack worked just fine, did not have a portion of the Uid/0 Block locked, and can use the method in the video. I am writing this comment because a lot of people are having trouble with the 20 pack and would recommend making a video on how TheSkyLib works because it can be confusing. Or recommend getting rid of the link to the listing of the 20 packs on Amazon from the description and listing the requirements of the card needed instead.

I got the nfc writer/reader and it came with 2 cards the cards that were ordered separately haven't arrived yet. They work perfectly fine overall except for one thing I can't use both as skylanders from trap team at the same time. For example I have krypt king on one and knight light on the other they work fine by themselves however when I try to use them at the same time in they start to bug out and won't work together it only happens for when both of the cards hold skylanders from trap team. If one card is from trap team and player 2 is using a trap team skylander that isn't a card it will work however if both players are using the cards and both the cards have trap team skylanders then it will say that one of the skylanders is corrupt. I'm playing on superchargers for xbox one. I was wondering if anyone had this problem and knew how to fix it. Thanks.

I have the "bin" files for all Skylander figures and adventure packs, but they don't work. The figures work without any problems, but unfortunately it doesn't work with the Adventure Packs... does anyone have any tips for that?

i am curious as to how traps and supercharger figures work on the cards, cause don't the traps need to be in the slot thing on the portal?
I think as long as the portal can read them in some kind of form( such as the nfc cards) they should work.

Yes! you can lay them on the portal.

Pro Life Tip: most (android) phones function as a nfc reader/writer with an app like nfc tools. You can also try out this technique easily with an old gym card

So, i've ran into an issue, when I install LibUsbK driver, my reader no longer detects the card so if the car was with the reader and i remove it it still glows green, if i hadn't placed the car and tehn i place it, it still glows red

You need a card for each swapper half (top and bottom) so you can still swap them around
Trap cards can just be placed on the portal like any other skylander and work fine!
I've seen stuff like it's apparently legal to sell the nfc cards so I'm unsure if the whole thing is legal or not
